Boston Celtics jersey history No. 30 - Thomas Hamilton (1996)

The Boston Celtics have had players suiting up in a total of 68 different jersey numbers (and have three others not part of any numerical series) since their founding at the dawn of the Basketball Association of America (BAA -- the league that would become today's NBA), worn by well over 500 players in the course of Celtics history. To commemorate the players who wore those numbers, Celtics Wire is covering the entire history of jersey numbers and the players who sported them since the founding of the team. With 25 of those jerseys now retired to honor some of the greatest Celtics to wear those jerseys, there is a lot of history to cover. And for today's article, we will continue with the sixth of 15 people to wear the No. 30, Boston big man alum Thomas Hamilton. After ending his college career at Pitt, Hamilton would go unselected in the 1994 NBA Draft, instead signing with the Celtics in 1995. The Chicago, Illinois native played just 20 games before he'd leave the team to sign with the Chicago Bulls. During his time suiting up for the Celtics, Hamilton wore only jersey No. 30 and put up 2.3 points and 2.0 rebounds per game. All stats and data courtesy of Basketball Reference.

5 things we want to see from the Steelers in the final preseason game

The Pittsburgh Steelers wrap up the preseason on a short week, going on the road to take on the Carolina Panthers. So far, though, the preseason has been less about preparing for the regular season and more about evaluating reserves to round out the roster. This week, we want to see the Steelers use this game to focus on getting all these new guys on the field together in live action to see what the Steelers have before the start of the year. Will it happen? Probably not but if the Steelers struggle at the start of the season, we might have our answer why. Aaron Rodgers on the field Rodgers hasn't played a snap of football in the preseason and we don't expect that to change. This doesn't change the fact that Rodgers joined the team late and could use some reps with his skill players. Steelers cornerbacks on the field The Steelers' core of cornerbacks haven't played in the preseason yet, either, and the guys who have played haven't been great. Again, this is about new guys on a new team in a new system needing real reps to get their communication and roles. A heavier dose of Kaleb Johnson Last week, we saw a small improvement from rookie Kaleb Johnson. Since it's unlikely that Jaylen Warren plays, why not give Johnson a heavier workload to see if he can supplant Kenneth Gainwell, who has been underwhelming? A heavier dose of Roman Wilson With Calvin Austin's injury, the door is wide open for Roman Wilson to win a starting job but he needs more snaps and targets to lock it in. More starter reps on the offensive line We've established that the Steelers' offensive line depth isn't great. But we really haven't seen if the starters can put together a couple of good drives and show growth in their run blocking.
