Morocco World3 days ago

Casablanca – Morocco's Mohamed Taoufyq hopes to bounce back from his debut loss this Friday in ONE Championship show ONE Friday Fights 110 this Friday.
Taoufyq will face promotional newcomer Supersub Bang Saen Fight Club in a catchweight (61.68 Kg) Muay Thai contest inside Bangkok's iconic Lumpinee Stadium.
The 20-year-old Moroccan athlete, who owns a 15-4 overall professional record, aims to bounce back from a unanimous decision defeat he suffered in his first promotional bout at the hands of Russia's Asadula Imangazaliev at ONE Friday Fights 98 on February 28.
Despite the defeat, the young Moroccan put in a solid display against the undefeated Imangazaliev, who owns an overall professional record of 8-0, including four wins in ONE, three of which came via a first-round knockout.
Ahead of the next bout, Taoufyq knows he can rely on his diversified skillset, strength, and striking capabilities to pick up his first win in ONE Championship's weekly fight series.
ONE Friday Fights 110 kicks off at 1:30 p.m. (WET) on Friday, May 30 and will be broadcast live via beIN SPORTS and watch.onefc.com. Tags: Friday Fight Nightsone championship

Lakhadim Attracts Alavés Interest as Madrid Path Narrows

Youssef Lakhadim may be on his way out of Real Madrid this summer, with Alavés pushing to sign the Moroccan left-back seen as one of La Fábrica's brightest prospects. Still only 19, Lakhadim has split his time this season between the U19s and Castilla. But with Ferland Mendy, Gerard García, and a likely new signing from Benfica all ahead of him, chances at Madrid's first team are slim. Alavés, sensing an opportunity, want him to step in should Manu Sánchez leave. Bosses at the Basque club like his profile – quick, tidy on the ball, and tactically sound. Madrid and Alavés have a good history of dealing, and a move wouldn't come as a surprise. It could mirror Antonio Blanco's transfer, which saw Madrid keep a stake in the player's future. Lakhadim has already trained with Carlo Ancelotti's squad and received matchday call-ups, but is yet to feature in a competitive game. A move to Alavés could offer the regular minutes he needs – and a proper launchpad for his professional career. Tags: Deportivo AlaveslaligaReal MadridYoussef Lakhadim

Toulouse Ready to Let Aboukhlal Leave

Toulouse have opened the door for Zakaria Aboukhlal to leave the club this summer, with several European sides showing interest. The Moroccan international is under contract until June 2026, but club president Damien Comolli confirmed in a press conference that they're open to offers. 'We're leaving the door open for Zakaria Aboukhlal,' he said. According to French outlet Actu , Aboukhlal is on a shortlist of players likely to leave as part of a summer shake-up at Toulouse. He's already attracted interest from Wolves, who see him as a key target to strengthen their attack. Southampton have also shown interest, though they haven't made a formal offer yet. Rennes are also said to be in the mix as they look to build for next season. The 24-year-old had a solid campaign with Toulouse, scoring 7 goals and providing 4 assists in 27 matches across all competitions. With the transfer window just around the corner, a move looks increasingly likely for one of Morocco's top attacking talents. Tags: ligue 1ToulouseZakaria Aboukhlal

Morocco U17s Set for Canada and Japan Tests in Spain

Morocco's under-17 side will take on Canada and Japan in two friendly matches next week as part of preparations for the FIFA U17 World Cup in Qatar later this year. The Atlas Cubs face Canada on Tuesday, June 3 at 4 p.m. (Moroccan time), before meeting Japan three days later on Friday, June 6 at 12:30 p.m. Both fixtures will be held in Alicante, Spain. The friendlies are part of the national team's build-up to the World Cup, which runs from 3 to 27 November. Morocco were drawn in Group B alongside Japan, New Caledonia and Portugal. Speaking at a conference in Marrakech on Wednesday, head coach Nabil Baha said Morocco's co-hosting of the 2030 World Cup was an opportunity to unite the country and inspire a winning mentality. 'Hosting the tournament alongside Spain and Portugal is a chance to celebrate our culture and push for more success,' Baha said. He also pointed to recent progress at the youth level, including the U-17s' AFCON performance, the U-20s' World Cup qualification, and the U-23s' place at the Paris Olympics. 'Morocco now enters every competition to win,' Baha added. 'Our aim is clear – to fly the Moroccan flag high on every world stage.' Tags: Moroccou17 afconU17 world cup
