Sabrina Ionescu Had One Word for Vanessa Bryant

Sabrina Ionescu Had One Word for Vanessa Bryant originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Toward the end of his legendary NBA career, Kobe Bryant adopted a new role amid the Los Angeles Lakers' struggles. Utilizing a wealth of experience forged through five NBA Finals wins, Bryant became a mentor for young men and women who grew up enraptured with the superstar scorer's "Mamba Mentality." Advertisement Before Bryant died in 2020, he lent his expertise to many rising NBA stars, including Kyrie Irving, Kawhi Leonard and Jayson Tatum. His influence extended to the WNBA. Diana Taurasi's "White Mamba" nickname came from Bryant himself, and he helped Jewell Loyd and Candace Parker become WNBA stars. Though Bryant knew Sabrina Ionescu for only a year before his death, the New York Liberty star has done what she can to uphold the Lakers legend's legacy. She has maintained a close connection with his widow, Vanessa. So, on Thursday, when Vanessa Bryant posted a picture of herself on Instagram, Ionescu wasted no time reacting to it. She commented "Queen" on the post to affirm her presence and support. Ionescu leaves a comment on Vanessa Bryant's Instagram post on Ionescu met Bryant in January 2019, more than a year before she was picked first overall by the Liberty in the first round of the 2020 WNBA Draft. That summer, Ionescu worked out with Kobe and Gianna Bryant in preparation for her senior season at Oregon, where she became the first NCAA player ever to accumulate 2,000 points, 1,000 assists and 1,000 rebounds in a career. Advertisement After an ankle injury limited her to three games as a WNBA rookie, Ionescu emerged as an All-Star in 2022 and established herself as one of the league's premier shooters. She played through a painful high-grade UCL tear in her shooting hand during the 2024 WNBA Finals, but her team held off the Minnesota Lynx to win its first title in franchise history, an accomplishment that Bryant would have been proud of. Yes, Prime Video Has Added More Ads Lately — Like, a Lot More

You're not imagining things: It does take longer to watch a TV show on Prime Video these days. The ad load on Amazon's streaming service has essentially doubled in recent months, from two and a half to three minutes of commercials per hour to four to six minutes per hour, according to a report from AdWeek. More from TVLine Jesse Williams' Amazon Action-Drama Sets Release Date - Also, Watch a Trailer for Hotel Costiera Casting News: Outlander Star Joins The Forsytes, Rings of Power Adds Trio and More The Summer I Turned Pretty: Love Blooms (and Taylor Swift Plays) in New Season 3 Trailer 'Prime Video ad load has gradually increased to four to six minutes per hour,' an Amazon representative admitted in an email to an ad buyer earlier this month. Amazon defended the move in a statement: 'While demand continues to grow, our commitment is to improving ad experiences rather than simply increasing the number of ads shown.' Prime Video was ad-free when it debuted in 2006 as an add-on to Amazon's Prime subscription service that offers free delivery of Amazon products for an annual fee. In January 2024, though, Prime Video introduced ads on all of its films and TV shows, asking subscribers to pay an additional $2.99 per month fee for an ad-free experience. (Other streamers like Netflix, Hulu and Disney+ all offer cheaper subscription tiers with ads as well.) 'This change will allow us to continue investing in compelling content and keep increasing that investment over a long period of time,' the streamer said in a message to subscribers at the time, adding: 'We aim to have meaningfully fewer ads than linear TV and other streaming TV providers.' Have you noticed the uptick in ads on Prime Video shows lately? Is it making you more likely to pay for no ads, or more likely to drop Prime Video altogether? Let us know in the comments! The Summer I Turned Pretty: Love Blooms (and Taylor Swift Plays) in New Season 3 Trailer

The Summer I Turned Pretty will end… this summer. The third and final, 11-episode season of Prime Video's YA series will premiere Wednesday, July 16. (A specific release pattern was not made immediately available, because that'd be too easy.) More from TVLine Jesse Williams' Amazon Action-Drama Sets Release Date - Also, Watch a Trailer for Hotel Costiera Casting News: Outlander Star Joins The Forsytes, Rings of Power Adds Trio and More Save the Dates: Brett Goldstein's Apple Movie, Hallmark's Christmas at Sea and More A farewell poster (below) has also been released, and on Wednesday, the streamer unveiled a new trailer for the final episodes, which continues the show's tradition of using Taylor Swift songs to illustrate the Conrad/Belly/Jeremiah love triangle. This time, it's 'Daylight' and 'Red (Taylor's Version).' You can watch it above. The series, based on creator/showrunner Jenny Han's book trilogy, revolves around the love triangle between 16-year-old Isabel 'Belly' Conklin (played by Lola Tung) and the Fisher brothers, broody Conrad (Christopher Briney) and easygoing Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno), with whom Belly has grown up. The upcoming season will chronicle the events of Han's third (and final) book, We'll Always Have Summer. In the Season 2 finale, which dropped August 18, 2023, Belly released Conrad from her heart and began a relationship with Jeremiah. Reflecting on Belly decision, star Lola Tung told TVLine, 'I think that her choice made sense for her in the moment. She's been through a lot with both of them, and I think she's realized that, at that time, Conrad has not shown her that he will ever be willing to fight for that relationship as much as she will. 'Here's Jeremiah, ready to fight for her, continuing to fight for her, just proving, I think, constantly how much he loves her and cares about her, even in watching her be with Conrad for so long,' Tung continued, adding that Jeremiah 'is the person that she is falling in love with' at the moment. In Season 3, 'it's the end of her junior year of college, and Belly's looking forward to another summer in Cousins with her soulmate, Jeremiah,' reads the official synopsis. 'Her future seems set, until some core-shaking events bring her first love Conrad back into her life. Now on the brink of adulthood, Belly finds herself at a crossroads and must decide which brother has her heart. Summer will never be the same…' As for whether fans can expect the final season to follow the last book and end with [spoiler], 'there are going to be surprises,' Han told Entertainment Weekly. 'There are the things that they know and then there are things they think they know, and then there's going to be, hopefully, things that surprise them.'
