The tiny Citroen 2CV is currently available for purchase after it was rescued from a French scrapyard.
Six of the little motors were destroyed during the filming of the chase scene.
This is the only one of the six to ever be offered up for sale at auction.
A month long online bidding war has been started for the little car with bids already reaching $120,000 or £89,000.
It's hoped that the motor will fetch a price of about $500,000 or £370,000 by the time bidding closes on July 17.
The iconic chase scene featuring the little 2CV sees Moore jump into the passenger seat of Melina Havelock's (Carole Bouquet) Citroen to escape the gun fire of villain Hector Gonzalez's goons.
In the ensuing chaos of the chase the 2CV ends up flipping onto its roof to avoid a bus.
It's then flipped back onto four wheels by Bond and some helpful locals before fleeing once again.
The small 2CV is eventually rolled down a hill by one of the pursuing Peugeot's, ending up partially crushed before being reversed off towards a sharp turn by 007.
In the iconic chase scene Bond takes the tiny Citroen off-road through olive groves and says the famous line: "I love a drive in the country, don't you?"
Iconic 90s Ferrari Jeremy Clarkson dubbed the 'greatest car in the world, ever' up for sale for eye-watering price
Six bright yellow 2CV's were left damaged in the filming process of the chase scene which sees Bond jump one over the last pursuing Peugeot.
The 2CV up for auction is one of only three to avoid complete destruction.
All three surviving 2CVs received a few dents and scrapes with the model up for auction boasting a missing headlight and a fair few scratches in the paintwork.
The models used for filming were fitted with more powerful engines not available in standard 2CVs.
Standard 2CVs were powered by a 602cc flat-twin engine mustering around 33bhp.

The six Bond vehicles used in filming featured a larger 1.1-litre engine that was lifted from the Citroën GS.
No roll cage was fitted to the one up for auction as it was used specifically for driving shots with Moore and Bouquet.
Moore gave a Top Gear interview stating the little French hatchback was his favourite Bond car writing later in his memoir about the fun he had driving the small motor.
The three surviving motors were split up after filming with one sold off to a UK collector.
One was taken by Citroen for the firm's private collection and the third, which is now up for auction, was sent to a recycling facility in Paris.
The famous little car was rescued from the scrapyard and sold to its current owner in 2004.
It has been fitted with replacement yellow doors and boot lid, yellow roof, and seats.
The car is being sold for display purposes only and is not considered to be roadworthy.
A certificate of authenticity will be provided to the winning bidder.

Dame Helen Mirren insists a woman playing James Bond 'wouldn't work' as she weighs in on female 007 debate

Dame Helen Mirren has declared that James Bond cannot be played by a woman as she insisted the famous spy is 'a bloke'. The acting legend, 80, weighed in on the speculation that the next person to take on the coveted role could be female, after Amazon MGM Studios took ownership of the hit franchise. Following Daniel Craig 's final appearance as 007 in 2021's No Time to Die, producers have been looking for the next star to take up the mantle. And while actors such as Aaron-Taylor Johnson, Theo James and Henry Cavill have emerged as the favourites to play the spy, actresses like Jodie Comer and Emilia Clarke have been mentioned as contenders to become the first female Bond. However, Dame Helen has firmly rejected the idea, insisting switching the sex of the iconic secret agent 'wouldn't work'. When asked whether it was time for a woman to take up the role, she was quoted by the Daily Star, as stating: 'No, it wouldn't work.' Following Daniel Craig 's final appearance as 007 in 2021's No Time to Die (pictured), producers have been looking for the next star to take up the mantle. She went on: 'There have been some amazing women who've worked in the secret services with incredible courage, but James Bond is a bloke. There's room for a great movie about a great female agent, but James Bond is James Bond.' Producers have confirmed a new Bond film is in development under Amazon MGM Studios, which took control of the franchise following a £770 million deal announced earlier this year. Helen joins multiple names who have spoken against the possibility of a lady Bond, including the franchise's producer Barbara Broccoli and previously Bonds, Daniel Craig and Pierce Brosnan. Daniel previously insisted that the iconic spy shouldn't be played by a female actress because they deserve their own roles that haven't been written for men. In an interview with Radio Times in 2021, the actor stated: 'There should simply be better parts for women and actors of colour. 'Why should a woman play James Bond when there should be a part just as good as James Bond, but for a woman?' Pierce has also shifted his position on the notion, after previously telling The Hollywood Reporter in 2019 that it was time to 'put a woman up there' and declaring a female Bond would be 'exciting' and 'exhilarating'. However, this year he made a sharp U-turn, telling Saga magazine: 'Oh, I think it has to be a man. 'I'm so excited to see the next man come on the stage and to see a whole new exuberance and life for this character. I adore the world of James Bond.' While Barbara has ruled out the possibility the amorous spy could ever be played by a woman, after previously declaring that 'anything is possible' when it came to the race and gender of future Bonds. In 2018, she sang a different tune, insisting: 'Bond is male. He's a male character. He was written as a male and I think he'll probably stay as a male. And that's fine. 'We don't have to turn male characters into women. Let's just create more female characters and make the story fit those female characters.' Halle Berry, who famously played beloved Bond girl Jinx in 2002's Die Another Day, has also opined that the British spy should only be played by a man. In 2017, she told Entertainment Tonight: 'That series is steeped in history... you know, Ian Fleming's stories. I don't think you can change Bond to a woman.' And when asked whether she herself would be interested in being the first lady Bond at this year's Cannes Film Festival jury press conference, she reiterated: 'I don't know if 007 should be a woman.' Fellow former Bond girl Gemma Arterton also weighed in on the notion of a female 007, declaring she felt it might not align with the franchise's tradition. The actress, who played Strawberry Fields in 2008's Quantum of Solace, told the Times last year: 'Isn't a female James Bond like Mary Poppins being played by a man? 'They talk about it, but I think people would find it too outrageous. Sometimes you just have to respect the tradition.'

'BE AWARE' Sir Billy Connolly sending 'love & cuddles' as he issues alarming warning to fans Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) SIR Billy Connolly has warned online scammers are using AI to recreate his voice and likeness in order to extort his fans. The comedy legend, 82, said he had become aware of multiple accounts impersonating him on social media and targeting his followers. Sign up for the Entertainment newsletter Sign up Fans who follow the comedian's official Facebook page have been sent messages by bogus accounts pretending to be him. They are encouraged to move the conversation over to a private messaging app before being asked to send money to secure merchandise or a meeting with Billy. Billy has insisted he would never engage directly with fans online and said his wife Pamela Stephenson, 75, is also being impersonated online as part of the scam. The Glasgow-born comic said his Facebook page is his only active social media account and warned that scammers can use AI to convince people they are in touch with him. In a statement issued on his official website, Billy said: "Dear friends, I have learned that, unfortunately, online scam artists are targeting my fans and supporters. "They are impersonating me, often reaching out to fans soliciting direct messaging. They create multiple deceptive social media and email accounts, and there could well be criminal intent. "For the protection of all my fans and supporters, please be aware of the following: I NEVER interact directly with fans or supporters, and would never suggest they direct message me, meet me, send me money or purchase goods directly. "I do not sell memberships, fan cards, meetings. I will never suggest meeting personally or ask for personal information. "If you are asked for any of the above, it is a scam. My likeness and the sound of my voice can be created by AI so beware. "My wife Pamela is also being impersonated, but please be aware that neither she nor any of my children have public social media accounts or pages. Sir Billy Connolly honoured with BAFTA Fellowship - BAFTAS 2022 "Please be safe everyone. Love and cuddles, Billy." One of his fans online posted: "I've had no less than 12 scammers message me saying they're Billy Connolly. We all know they aren't, I mean they can barely sound coherent, let alone like someone from Scotland. "As long as they're chatting with me, they aren't stealing money from vulnerable people. There's a special place in hell for scammers." Another follower said she had been contacted by someone pretending to be one of Billy's daughters after she posted a comment on a fan page. Earlier this year it was revealed a scammer had tricked a French woman into believing she was dating Brad Pitt, before persuading her to part with almost £700,000 using AI images and videos. Billy retired from stand-up after being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. He discovered he had the illness 13 years ago after a doctor spotted him walking strangely through the lobby of a hotel in Los Angeles. He moved to Florida from his previous home in New York after doctors advised him to live in a warmer climate.

Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan weigh in on James Bond

It comes after Amazon MGM Studios revealed last month that Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight would be taking charge for the next film. Dame Helen Mirren has said that the next James Bond 'has to be a guy'. She told Saga Magazine: 'I'm such a feminist, but James Bond has to be a guy. You can't have a woman. It just doesn't work. 'James Bond has to be James Bond, otherwise it becomes something else.' 31 years ago today, Pierce Brosnan became JAMES BOND. — All The Right Movies (@ATRightMovies) June 8, 2025 The Oscar-winning actress, 80, stars alongside former 007 actor Pierce Brosnan in the new Thursday Murder Club film, a cosy crime drama adapted from the best-selling book by game show host Richard Osman. Pierce, 72, agreed with the actress about the next portrayal of Bond and told the magazine: 'Oh, I think it has to be a man.' He added: 'I wish (Amazon) them well. I'm so excited to see the next man come on the stage and to see a whole new exuberance and life for this character. 'I adore the world of James Bond. It's been very good to me. It's the gift that keeps giving. 'And I'm just a member of the audience now, sitting back, saying: 'Show us what you're going to do'.' Dame Helen previously told the Standard that 'the whole concept of James Bond is drenched and born out of profound sexism' and added: 'Women have always been a major and incredibly important part of the Secret Service, they always have been.' In the forthcoming Thursday Murder Club film, the veteran actress plays a retired spy, who is also the founder and leader of the club. Speaking about her character Elizabeth, she told Saga: 'So many women have worked in that world. She's a manifestation of a reality, that's for sure.' Recommended reading: Asked if she is a better portrayal of a spy than Bond, she responded: 'More realistic. But not so much fun as Bond!' She added: 'The great thing about a movie like this is that it reminds everyone, as an older person I have a brain. I have agency, energy, commitment, passion and intellect. It doesn't all stop when you're 40.' Brosnan said the film, directed by Harry Potter director Chris Columbus, would also appeal to anyone who likes the film series about wizardry and added: 'This is like a Harry Potter retirement home.'
