June 27 (UPI) -- Wall to Wall, Trigger and other South Korean thriller films and TV series are coming in 2025 following the release of Squid Game Season 3.
The third and final season of Squid Game was released Friday on Netflix, bringing the hit survival drama to a close.
Here are five upcoming Korean shows and movies set for release on streaming services this year.
'Low Life'
The adventure crime drama from Big Bet creator Kang Yunsung will have a three-episode premiere July 16 on Disney+ internationally and on Hulu in the United States.
Set in the 1970s, Ryu Seung-ryong and Yang Se-jong star as veteran conman Oh Gwan-seok and his nephew Oh Hee-dong, respectively. Ryu is also known for the hit Korean series Moving.
Low Life follows Gwan-seok and Hee-dong as they race to find a rumored sunken treasure ship off the Korean coast, taking on fellow fortune-hunters and underworld baddies along the way.
'Wall to Wall'
The thriller film from Unlocked writer and director Kim Tae-joon premieres July 18 on Netflix.
Wall to Wall stars Kang Ha-neul as Woo-sung, a new homeowner whose apartment turns into "a nightmare filled with financial ruin and mysterious noises from neighboring floors," according to an official synopsis. Kang is known for playing Dae-ho, aka Player 388, in Squid Game Seasons 2 and 3.
The cast also includes Yeom Hye-ran as Eun-hwa, the building representative, and Seo Hyun-woo as Jin-ho, Woo-sung's "suspicious" neighbor who is also curious about the noise.
"Unpredictable twists" unfold after other residents blame Woo-sung for the noise and he begins to investigate the true source.
'Trigger'
The action thriller series from Kwon Oh-seung, the writer and director of Midnight, debuts July 25 on Netflix.
Trigger imagines a gun-free South Korea, where chaos "erupts when illegal firearms suddenly begin to circulate, sparking unprecedented violence," according to an official synopsis.
Kim Nam-gil (Song of the Bandits) and Kim Young-kwang (Somebody) star as two men who "take up arms for very different reasons."
Kim Nam-gil plays Lee Do, a former military sniper-turned-detective who strives to stop the violence and find the source of the illegal weapons, while Kim Young-kwang portrays Moon Baek, "a mysterious figure" with hidden motives.
'Mantis'
Mantis is a spinoff of the 2023 action crime thriller Kill Boksoon. Byun Sung-hyun, the writer and director of the original film, returns to co-write the script with Lee Tae-sung, who directs the new movie.
Set in the same universe as Kill Boksoon, Mantis stars Yim Si-wan as Han-ul, aka Mantis, an assassin working for MK Ent. Mantis returns from his "vacation" mentioned in Kill Boksoon to find several skilled assassins vying for the top spot. Yim played Myung-gi, aka Player 333, in Squid Game Seasons 2 and 3.
The cast also includes Park Gyu-young (Sweet Home) as Jae-yi, a former MK Ent. assassin who was ousted from the group, and Jo Woo-jin (Narco-Saints) as Dok-go, a retired founding member of MK Ent. and Mantis' mentor.
Mantis is set for release on Netflix in the third quarter of the year.
'Good News'
Kill Boksoon writer and director Byun Sung-hyun is also working on the thriller film Good News, slated for release on Netflix in the fourth quarter of the year.
Set in the 1970s, the movie follows "a covert operation" to save the passengers of a plane that has been hijacked in the air, according to an official synopsis.
Sul Kyung-gu (Kill Boksoon) stars as "a mysterious fixer who shows up whenever needed to resolve problems." The cast also includes Hong Kyung (Weak Hero Class 1) as an Air Force lieutenant involved in the mission and Ryoo Seung-bum (Moving) as the government official in charge of the operation.

Comedian Jeff Ross Reveals Shocking Reason Tom Brady Agreed to Do Netflix Roast
It was just revealed why Tom Brady agreed to participate in Netflix's live roast of him - and the reason might surprise you. Comedian Jeff Ross, who cohosted the Roast of Tom Brady in May 2024 alongside Kevin Hart, shared during a Wednesday, June 26 appearance on The Howard Stern Show Brady's motivation for being the subject of the Netflix special. On the day of the roast, Ross asked Brady, "Why are you doing this?" According to Ross, Brady replied, "I love this kind of humor. People are too snowflaky right now," On top of that, Brady allegedly sent Ross a text that day saying: "No fear. This is what we do." The comedian also opened up about how to roast came to be, sharing that it took several years to get to the taping from when he first connected with the NFL star via Instagram. "I had seen him looking at my Instagram on Super Bowl Sunday a few years ago," Ross said. "I was like, Why the f**k is Tom Brady on my Instagram?' I go, 'Oh, I had some jokes up. Maybe that's how he unwinds before a big game.' And he f***ing wins!" It's likely that Ross is referring to Brady's Super Bowl win in 2021 as the quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, his seventh and final Super Bowl win as an NFL quarterback. "I hit him the next day on Instagram going, 'Dude, it's time for a roast. You obviously love this s**t,'" Ross continued. "He writes me back and we start talking and it turns out my agent and his agent, they work together. And we put a deal together to do a roast. Netflix is like, 'Sure!'" But just as Ross's plans were coming to fruition - Brady announced he had to decided not to retire from professional football, after previously announcing he was going to in February 2022. "He agreed and he retired and we were like, 'Let's go! Now's our chance.' Then he unretired," Ross said. "I was like, 'No, we got to wait until he's done playing. It's a little more fun.'" That opportunity came after Brady's second retirement in February 2023. However, the long-anticipated event was pushed back even more due to Brady's split from ex-wife Gisele Bündchen in October 2022 after 13 years of marriage. "Then he was going through a divorce and I'm like, 'Let's wait for that,'" Ross explained. The event featured Brady getting roasted by comedians like Nikki Glaser and Andrew Schulz, celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Ben Affleck and former New England Patriots teammates Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman. All the Games Played in ‘Squid Game' Season 3 - Games in Squid Game Season 3
The final games have officially begun and if you thought this show was brutal before, you definitely better prepare yourself for what the Front Man has up his sleeve. With the final players trying to survive and win the grand prize and some of them willing to do anything possible to be the last one standing, season 3 of Squid Game brought out some of the hardest games yet. Here are all the games played in Squid Game season 3. Kicking off the season was a brand-new game that we haven't seen before. Before the game officially started, players were left in the dark a bit as they first had to figure out which team they were going to be in. For this game, you will be divided into two teams. Before we can begin, all players must first receive their team assignments. Please step forward one at a time and draw a ball from the machine in front of you. After receiving either a blue or red ball from the machine, the two groups were split apart as they heard the following instructions: Players on the Blue Team must either find the exit and escape within 30 minutes, or stay hidden to avoid being caught by members of the Red Team before the game ends. Players on the Red Team must find the members of the Blue Team hiding throughout the arena and kill them within 30 minutes. If you fail to kill at least one, you will be eliminated. Additional instructions for the Blue Team: The item you've been given is a key that can be used to unlock doors in the arena. Using these keys, you will be able to access new areas during the game. However, once a door has been opened, it cannot be locked again. Additional instructions for the Red Team: You can use these knives to attack the players on the Blue Team. But please note, members of the Red Team are not allowed to attack each other. Before we begin today's game, we would like to first give you an opportunity to change your fate. If any of you are not satisfied with your currently assigned role, you may instead choose to switch sides with someone from the opposing team before the game begins. As long as both parties agree, you may trade your vest and items with another player. However, once the game begins, removing your own vest or attempting to switch vests with any player, is strictly prohibited. The episode continues the game from episode 1. It was also revealed that three different key types were given out to the blue team: circle, triangle, square. In order to safely escape, someone needed all three types of keys to open the final door. The post-credit scene of season 2 hinted at this game as we saw the players enter the space for this new game that involves Young-hee and now Cheol-su. Each player must make their way across the bridge while jumping over the rope as it swings. To pass, you must reach the other side within 20 minutes. The order in which you cross the bridge within the time limit is entirely up to you. The episode continues the game from episode 3, but adds a new twist to the overall game as *spoiler alert* 222 / Kim Jun-hee's baby is now forced to adopt her number. There will be three rounds. You will start on the square pillar, move on to the triangle pillar, and finally end on the circle pillar. On each shape, you will play a pushing game. Starting on the square pillar you are all currently standing on, if you as a group manage to push on or more players off while they are still alive, the round will end and all remaining players will move on to the triangle pillar. Likewise, if you are able to eliminate one or more players on the triangle pillar in the second round, then you will move on to the circle pillar. Finally, if you eliminate one or more players on the circle pillar in the third round then the remaining players on that pillar will be the game's final winners. Please keep the following in mind. If you fail to eliminate at least one player within a round's given time limit, then all players on the pillar will be eliminated. Players, to begin the first round, please press the button on the ground. Each round would last 15 minutes, but would not start until they officially click the button on each platform. If a person died before the button was pushed, their death would not count toward the rules and they would need to kill another in order to fulfill the requirements. The episode continues the game from episode 5, which is also the final game of the season.
