Jeff Bezos & Lauren Sanchez Reportedly ‘Livid' Over Charlize Theron's Criticism of Their Wedding as They Plan to Get Revenge on the Actress

Yahooa day ago
The Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez wedding was a pretty extravagant affair. No expense was spared as the two tied the knot in Venice, with multiple celebrities, including the Kardashians, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Oprah, in attendance. But not all celebrities were invited, and not all wanted to be there. Charlize Theron, who has been in the headlines for other reasons due to the release of her Netflix movie, The Old Guard 2, had pretty strong words against those who did attend.
And Bezos was reportedly not pleased. According to a report from celebrity reporter Rob Shuter, Bezos was 'livid' with her comments, and Sanchez had to be 'talked down' from saying something against the actress on Instagram. Reportedly, the two are taking revenge on the actress, too. Theron has now been banned from anything Bezos-adjacent, including yacht weekends, Blue Origin launches, and any future charity galas sponsored by the couple.

What exactly did she say? On June 28, while hosting the fifth annual Block Party for the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project on Saturday, Theron told attendees, 'I think we might be the only people who did not get an invite to the Bezos wedding,' poking fun at the star-studded event.
'But that's OK because they suck and we're cool,' Theron added, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The actress then pointed out the current political climate, saying, 'Here in Los Angeles, in the US and across the globe, we're moving backwards fast.' She added, 'Immigration policy has destroyed the lives of families, not criminals; women's rights are becoming less and less every day; queer and trans lives are increasingly being erased; and gender-based violence is on the rise,' making it clear that she disagreed with the moment and the type of celebration.
Theron might be one of the biggest names to criticize the lavish affair, and one of the ones who had the strongest public words, but she's not the only one who has said something. Katie Couric made a dig at Lauren Sanchez's wedding dress in a since-deleted Instagram comment that reportedly read, 'Welcome to the eighties — when big hair and conspicuous consumption ruled. Apparently tacky is back.' Ouch.
Meanwhile, Rosie O'Donnell criticized Bezos in particular and the wedding in general in a June 29 Substack post. 'The BEZOS wedding, it turned my stomach. Seeing all these billionaires gathering in the gross excess of it all,' O'Donnell wrote. 'Is Oprah friends with Jeff Bezos? Really — how is that possible? He treats his employees with disdain. By any metric he is not a nice man.'
Others chose a more subtle way of showing their disapproval, but one that was clear just the same. Mia Farrow and Olivia Munn were among the celebrities who took the time to praise Bezos' ex-wife, MacKenzie Scott, for her philanthropy in the years since her divorce. Not the same as outright criticism, but also a very obvious dig at both Bezos and especially, his new bride.
And though Theron was reportedly the one who drew the ire of Bezos and Sanchez, it's likely none of these celebrities will be invited to the next party. To their credit, they don't seem to care.

Music Icon, 80, Reveals the Woman Who Healed Him After Heartbreaking Splits originally appeared on Parade. Rod Stewart opened up about his past marriages and how his current relationship has brought him a sense of healing and completeness he never thought he would find again. The music icon has been married to English model Penny Lancaster for 18 years and their romance is still going strong. In an interview with The Times, he talked about his two failed marriages and how they led him to meet the love of his life. The singer-songwriter's first wife was former model and actress Alana Hamilton, whom he married in 1979. The couple, who had a daughter, Kimberly and a son, Sean, separated in 1984. Six years later, the 'Sailing' hitmaker married Rachel Hunter, with whom he had two children: daughter Renée and son Liam. Despite a 24-year age gap, their marriage lasted nine years before they filed for divorce in 1999. According to Stewart, the age difference was a factor in the breakdown of their relationship. He also revealed that the divorce was a painful chapter in his life. "Rachel left me because she was too young — my sister said I should never have married her in the first place — but it tore me to shreds," he revealed. However, the heartbreaking moment ultimately guided him toward his future wife, whom he met six months after his relationship with Hunter ended. "There were six months between Rachel and Penny because my bass player, who had Penny's number, wouldn't give it to me,' the legendary singer recalled. 'He said, 'All you're going to do now is shag around.' And he was right: I had a splendid time in those six months." Bridezilla bans water bottles from outdoor wedding over aesthetic concerns — in 102 degree heat: ‘Idiot'

Till death from dehydration do us part? A bridezilla with a death grip on her wedding day 'aesthetic' is getting roasted online after a Reddit post revealed she banned water bottles at her outdoor summer nuptials — because they clashed with the vibe. It was the big moment of her Pinterest dreams — and her guests' sweaty nightmares. Temperatures hit a scorching 102°F, but the bride reportedly refused to allow plastic or reusable bottles at the ceremony, leaving guests to bake in the sun with nothing but cucumber-mint spritzers served in dainty glasses better suited for Instagram than hydration. 'She apparently thought water bottles in photos would ruin the vibe,' the post, uploaded to r/weddingshaming on July 2 claimed — and yes, someone almost passed out during the vows. Dubbed 'The Thirst Games' by the person who made the post, the painfully curated ceremony prioritized a specific aesthetic over pulse rates. Guests, dressed in sweat-soaked linen and sunstroke-level blush tones, were reportedly left begging for basic hydration. The Redditor set the scene, writing, 'The bride was super into minimalist Pinterest vibes, everything was beige, blush, and white. Like, painfully curated. No loud colors, no mismatched chairs, even the waiters had to wear off-white. It honestly looked like a lifestyle photoshoot, until you realized it was 102°F outside and we were all sweating through our linen outfits.' There was a single hydration station 'after the ceremony,' the Redditor continued, 'tucked in a corner with a staff member pouring chilled water into dainty glasses one at a time. The line was insane.' One elderly guest had to be helped inside with signs of heat exhaustion. The groom's mother dared to take out a Hydro Flask — and was swiftly reprimanded by a horrified bride who 'actually gasped' and sent someone to put it away. (Guess stainless steel isn't 'on-theme.') Commenters in the thread were quick to drag the desert-chic debacle. 'Banning water bottles wouldn't even cross my mind, not because it's unreasonable, but because who the f—k even thinks of that,' one wrote. Another added, 'OMG she's lucky she didn't invite me and get treated to the aesthetic of a guest lying down on the ground with her feet propped up on a chair, while other guests run around calling emergency services.' Someone else came up with a potential fix for the idea of plastic bottles plaguing the bridezilla, writing, 'Glass water bottles. They don't mess with the color scheme. They're in like half of the still life's ever painted. It's such an obvious solution for her stupid manufactured, self imposed problem and yet she almost killed her husband's aunt instead.' An additional user agreed, 'Bride was an idiot for not providing a pretty refillable water bottle to every guests as part of the aesthetic… plus it doubles as a favor.' And if you think this is as unreasonable and out of touch as bridezillas can get, think again. As The Post previously reported, one bold bride-to-be sparked online outrage after asking wedding guests to cough up $500 each for accommodations — after claiming it was all covered. According to one peeved Redditor, invitees were originally told they only needed to handle their flights. But just two months before the big day, a surprise bill landed in their inboxes. If that weren't enough, the couple also launched five separate GoFundMe pages for their honeymoon, each with a $10,000 goal. One guest crunched the numbers and realized the couple would actually profit off the venue — charging guests more than the estate rental even costs. The grifty newlyweds are part of a growing trend of cash-hungry couples turning their 'I do' into an 'I invoice.' Weddings aren't cheap — and with the average American 'I do' topping $26K, many cash-strapped couples are now slapping guests with a cover charge just to get in the door.

CD Projekt Red Announces ‘Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2' at Anime Expo

CD Projekt Red is returning to the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners universe with a new stand-alone entry, which the game developer announced alongside the anime series' showrunner during a panel at Anime Expo on Friday. The video game developer will once again partner with the animation studio Trigger for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, which, like its predecessor, will stream on Netflix. An official logo and poster art were shared as part of CD PROJEKT RED's 'Cyberpunk: Edgerunners — Behind the Scenes With its Creators,' with a promise that later in the day, Trigger would tease new footage for the series at the Peacock Theater as part of its own panel. More from The Hollywood Reporter Netflix Is Shark-Attacking Discovery and Nat Geo This Summer The Front Man Speaks: 'Squid Game' Star Lee Byung-hun Unpacks His Character's Mysterious Inner Thoughts 'The Residence' Was Mostly Good, But It Didn't Quite Earn a Second Season The series will serve as a new 10-episode stand-alone story set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077, and asks the question: in a city that thrives in the spotlight of violence and when the world is blinded by spectacle, what extremes will you go to in order to make your story matter? Described as a raw chronicle of redemption and revenge, Edgerunners 2 will, according to the series' story writer and producer Bartosz Sztybor, not only be a sadder and darker take, but 'more bloody, and more raw.' 'Night City has a lot of stories to tell. I have a dream that it won't end with Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. There's more stories, more characters,' he added about his decision to pursue another series. 'I wasn't satisfied with the sadness I received from the audience so I want you to be even more sad now.' Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 will feature a new story and fresh characters, and while the series does not currently have a release date, it will be directed by Kai Ikarashi. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners director Hiroyuki Imaishi made a special appearance during the panel to pass the baton for Ikarashi's directorial debut on the series, after working together on the 2022 entry. Voice actors Emi Lo (Lucy Kushinada) and Zach Aguilar (David Martinez) also appeared on the panel, which saw cast and creatives take fans behind the scenes of the 2022 anime. Sztybor and Ikarashi will be joined on Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 by lead character designer Kanno Ichigo and Masahiko Otsuka, who will be responsible for the screenplay adaptation. '[Cyberpunk: Edgerunner's] David [Martinez's] story might be over, but there's plenty more to discover in Night City. And to again have the legendary animation studio Trigger along for the ride makes us at CD Projekt Red so excited to introduce a raw, real chronicle of redemption and revenge, something unlike what we've done before,' Sztybor said in a statement.
