The fire on Wednesday, November 6, affected two floors and the roof space of the Quay Street pub.
Fire crews battled the blaze for two hours and smoke could be seen billowing from the building.

The Bristol Trader is known for its food and has a 4.4 rating on TripAdvisor.
Following the fire, the pub was forced to close while the damage was repaired which could have been disastrous just before the busy Christmas season.
However, Team Trader launched a canny contingency plan and quickly moved its kitchen to the nearby Castle Hotel on Castle Square, Haverfordwest, opening there on November 18.
The bar reopened at the end of November. However, the kitchen of the pub remained closed while repairs continued to be carried out.
This year the Trader has held a series of pop-up dining events at the pub, while the kitchen gets back up and running.
Last Sunday the pub opened its kitchen fully, meaning that the Bristol Trader is running as normal for the first time since the fire.

'We can't wait to have our restaurant back full again and to see all our lovely customers,' said the Trader team before the grand reopening, which finished off with music and dancing from local band The Connections
As well as reopening the kitchen, the pub is offering a new menu from its new kitchen.
Among the meals on offer are Trader burgers and grills, breakfasts, flatbreads and the famous trader sexy wedges.
Food is now being served daily at the Bristol Trader; from 12pm-3pm and 5pm to 8pm Monday to Saturday, with Sunday lunch served between 12pm and 3pm on Sunday.

Millions on benefits and Universal Credit to get EXTRA payment before the end of the year – are you eligible?
Plus, we share the exact bank statement to look out for to see if the cash has been deposited CASH IN Millions on benefits and Universal Credit to get EXTRA payment before the end of the year – are you eligible? Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) MILLIONS on benefits and Universal Credit will get extra payment before the end of the year. The free cash, often referred to as the benefits Christmas bonus, is paid to eligible households to help provide extra financial support over the holiday period. 1 The DWP pays a Christmas bonus to claimants at the end of every year Credit: Getty The bonus was first introduced in 1972 and hasn't risen in value since then. If the payment had risen in line with inflation it would now be worth £118.69, which would be enough to cover the cost of a Christmas shop for the family. However, £10 these days doesn't stretch very far, and would likely only cover the cost of a few items in a grocery store. Sarah Coles, head of personal finance at Hargreaves Lansdown, said the figure has fallen so far behind inflation that it's "now the kind of sum that the kids of better off families might find tucked into a Christmas card". "If you're facing Christmas on a tight budget, the earlier you can start preparing for it, the better." She added: "Some people will buy presents throughout the year, whereas others will put something aside each month into an easy access savings account." "It's not always easy to free up the cash, but you'll be glad you managed it when you're faced with the eye-watering cost of Christmas." Meanwhile, Evan John, Policy Advisor at the national disability charity Sense, said the bonus is "another example of successive governments demonstrating they don't really understand the huge extra costs of being disabled". He added: "The cost of living has spiralled for disabled people over recent years. "Many have no choice but to use extra energy to power feeding machines or hoists - and energy costs have risen in recent years, alongside the ever-increasing prices of specialist foods and therapies." Cost of Living payment updates — Thousands have just days to claim free £300 DWP cash A Government spokesperson said: "This Government is determined to change people's lives for the better, helping them out of poverty so they do not need to rely on crisis support. 'That's why we are fixing the broken welfare system we inherited, so it genuinely supports those who can work into employment while ensuring there is always a safety net for the most vulnerable. 'We have also raised the national living wage, increased benefits, and given additional help to the poorest households as part of our Plan for Change.' How do I claim the DWP Christmas bonus? Anyone who is eligible to claim the bonus does not need to apply and will be paid automatically. If you are not sure if you have received the payment before, check on your bank statements for a code which says "DWP XB". To get the money you usually need to be claiming benefits before the qualifying week, which is typically the first week of December. The full list of benefits which make you eligible for the bonus include: Adult Disability Payment Armed Forces Independence Payment Attendance Allowance Carer's Allowance Carer Support Payment Child Disability Payment Constant Attendance Allowance (paid under Industrial Injuries or War Pensions schemes) Contribution-based Employment and Support Allowance (once the main phase of the benefit is entered after the first 13 weeks of claim) Disability Living Allowance Incapacity Benefit at the long-term rate Industrial Death Benefit (for widows or widowers) Mobility Supplement Pension Age Disability Payment Pension Credit - the guarantee element Personal Independence Payment (PIP) Scottish Adult Disability Living Allowance (SADLA) Severe Disablement Allowance (transitionally protected) State Pension (including Graduated Retirement Benefit) Unemployability Supplement or Allowance (paid under Industrial Injuries or War Pensions schemes) War Disablement Pension at State Pension age War Widow's Pension Widowed Mother's Allowance Widowed Parent's Allowance Widow's Pension If you think that you qualify but don't receive the payment automatically you should contact your local Jobcentre Plus or Pension Centre. Support if you are struggling If you are struggling there are ways to get financial support. For example, cash-strapped families can get access to money through the Household Support Fund (HSF). The scheme has been extended multiple times with the latest round running between April 2025 and March 2026. Each council in England has been allocated a share of the £742million fund and can distribute it to residents in need. Eligibility criteria varies based on where you live but usually help is offered to those on benefits or a low income. For example, households in North Northamptonshire can apply for supermarket vouchers worth up to £320. Elsewhere, households in Wealden District Council can apply for free cash worth £200.

A picture of the seasonal goodies was shared in the Dansway Gifts and Bargains UK Facebook Group. "Festive Chocolate Selection Boxes are BACK at B&M," one shopper wrote. "A few we found whilst in store today, there's lots of other Christmas chocolate to choose from!" But one disappointed customer penned: "We've not even finished summer yet or had Halloween. "I swear Christmas gets earlier and earlier every year, makes you wonder how long these chocolates sit there before we buy and save for Christmas." Another added: "Too soon for Christmas but I'd still scoff them." The post is still garnering shares and likes, with many tagging their pals in the comments. While it may feel premature to start stocking up on Christmas treats, bargain hunters often bag better deals in the off-season. In fact, one expert has shared why now is the ideal time to buy your festive decorations, and where to buy them. FDA issues urgent recall of 'shaped' chocolate sold across US and on online over 'deadly' ingredient The selection boxes advertised in B&M include classics such as Cadbury, Nestle, Galaxy and Reese's peanut butter snacks. This comes as shoppers have also been complaining about Halloween decorations being pushed by major stores across the UK. Clothing and homeware brand Matalan is already giving people a taste of Autumn with its Halloween-themed products. One person complained: "Does someone want to tell Matalan its July. Don't get me wrong my fave time of year is Autumn but we're not there yet. A third commented: "Getting too much with shops they always seem to be pushing things that are months away instead of enjoying the season we're in." One fan said: "Definitely not ready for this yet." Elsewhere, shelves at TK Maxx have been stocked with Halloween tea towels, cushions, blankets and plush toys from four months before the spooky holiday. How to save money on chocolate We all love a bit of chocolate from now and then, but you don't have to break the bank buying your favourite bar. Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how to cut costs... Go own brand - if you're not too fussed about flavour and just want to supplant your chocolate cravings, you'll save by going for the supermarket's own brand bars. Shop around - if you've spotted your favourite variety at the supermarket, make sure you check if it's cheaper elsewhere. Websites like let you compare prices on products across all the major chains to see if you're getting the best deal. Look out for yellow stickers - supermarket staff put yellow, and sometimes orange and red, stickers on to products to show they've been reduced. They usually do this if the product is coming to the end of its best-before date or the packaging is slightly damaged. Buy bigger bars - most of the time, but not always, chocolate is cheaper per 100g the larger the bar. So if you've got the appetite, and you were going to buy a hefty amount of chocolate anyway, you might as well go bigger. One shopper shared pictures of Halloween items on the shelves in the retailer's Doncaster store, saying: "It's starting." Others chimed in to say they'd also seen Halloween products in the stores in Preston and Oldham. One person commented: "No no NO ….. let's have summer first before we start seeing autumn things ….. jeeeez way too early !!" Another said: "Wooow really getting earlier and earlier every year huh!! will start seeing xmas stuff next week no doubt." A third person said: "Its June!!!! this is far too early." Some experts have said the growth of online shopping has meant traditional retailers are trying to extend the holiday season to compete. It's also because they have boosted profits during holiday seasons as shoppers spend more. Shops have been putting out their holiday stocks even earlier in recent years. Some experts have said the growth of online shopping has meant traditional retailers are trying to extend the holiday season to compete. It's also because they have boosted profits during holiday seasons as shoppers spend more. Charlotte Harrington, the manager at Summerhill's Garden Centre in Basildon, Essex, previously told The Sun that they open their Christmas department on the August bank holiday. "The stock comes in early and we gradually start putting it out on the shop floor. This is just a small fraction of what we have," she said. "But our Christmas displays are so spectacular it takes time to get everything set up, so we have to start early." Last year shoppers complained when B&M launched its Christmas range in the middle of August. They also reacted when Morrisons, Tesco and B&M put Easter chocolates out on their shelves hours after Christmas Day.

FESTIVE FEELING Why NOW is the ideal time to buy your Christmas decorations as Brits spot bargains & where to buy them Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) IT may seem way too early to even think about Christmas, but savvy savers have shared a clever trick that's too good to miss. It's no secret that Christmas decor can cost a fortune, especially if you like to go all out over the festive season. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 2 The savvy shopper spotted some great deal in her local garden centre Credit: Facebook 2 The shopper urged others to check their garden centres to find the best deals Credit: Getty But according to a money-saving whizz heading to your local garden centre right now could pay off. Posting in the popular Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, she explained: "I know it's too early for Christmas, but I love a bargain, especially if this size. "All this for £90 instead of £350. "It was from our local garden centre, I've seen a few garden centres having stock clearances so it's worth a visit to your local one." Alongside the post, the Facebook user shared a snap of some massively discounted Christmas decorations, including a set of huge LED reindeers, reduced from £129 to just £32.50. The garden centre also had another huge LED reindeer for just £32, plus some other shiny festive must haves. Fellow bargain hunters were impressed with the find, and many stated they would be heading to their local garden centre to see if there were more deals to be had. One wrote: "Soon as you see a bargain, grab it!" A second agreed: "I know what we are doing the weekend." "You can never buy too early," another chimed in. I visited Lapland's Santa Claus Village in the summer — turns out Santa's not just for Christmas Of course, there's no knowing if your garden centre will have any Christmas goods up for grabs, but you could call beforehand to double check. And if you are already in the festive mood and want to scout out even more bargain decorations, there are a few other places to try out. Secondhand sites like eBay, Vined and Facebook Marketplace usually have a steady supply of decorations for a cheap price. Christmas decoration tips and tricks Embrace Natural Elements Lynette Pymm, founder of Black By Design, said: 'Natural materials like pine cones, eucalyptus, and berries bring a sophisticated, rustic feel to Christmas décor. "Scatter them around in bowls or create a simple, fresh garland for a grounded, elegant look.' Layered Lighting for Ambience Nicole Hussey, Creative Manager at rucomfy, said: 'Soft lighting is key for that cosy winter feel. "Incorporate warm white fairy lights and candle-lit lanterns for a soft glow that enhances the festive spirit without overpowering the room.' Vintage and Reclaimed Ornaments Tracey Hague, founder of Where Saints Go, said: 'Using vintage ornaments or those crafted from reclaimed materials is a great way to add character. "These pieces are unique, often beautifully made, and they bring a sense of history and nostalgia that's perfect for Christmas.' Incorporate Textured Throws and Cushions Tracey added: 'Layering textures adds warmth to a space. Opt for soft throws in faux fur or wool and cushions in rich, wintery fabrics. "Not only is this cosy, but it also adds visual interest that doesn't feel overly seasonal.'
