Former NBA star Shaquille O'Neal visited
Jimmy Fallon
tonight on May 15, 2025, for something funny and a little competitive. Basketball legend came to promote a new product, but when he found out about a certain TV record, the mood changed.
What was followed was full of laughter, light annoyance and a sweet moment that fans did not expect.
Shaquille O'Neal jokes about beating
Michael Strahan
and Andy Cohen's show records
Shaquille O'Neal on Tonight, May 15, 2025, made his 18th appearance on The Tonight Show in New York City. Host Jimmy Fallon informed him, during the show, that he was no longer the guest with the most appearances.
Shaquille heard that and was like, well, he was looking on-camera like really shocked, but more in like a funny way. He grinned at the camera and told the camera,
"I've been here 18 times, but I hear I'm not a number-one person. Michael Strehan, I'm coming to you!"
In a not serious, mean way, he was all in fun and boyish charm, which Shaquille O'Neal is known for.
The audience and Fallon laughed, but on this mark, Shaquille took the play further by calling out another face in the crowd: Andy Cohen, the host of Watch What Happens Live, who has made 20 appearances on Fallon's show.
Shaquille said with a laugh, 'Andy Cohen, I'm gonna beat you too!!'
He was joking, people knew he was joking, and it was all in good fun between celebrities who relish some friendly competition.

Later, the mood softened when Shaquille O'Neal was shown some old photos from his basketball days. One showed a young Shaq playing against Michael Jordan. Shaquille O'Neal smiled and said,
"Like every other child, there was a poster of MJ on my wall."
The second photo showed the famous moment when Shaquille O'Neal broke the backboard in 1993 during a game against Derrick Coleman. Shaquille O'Neal explained that it was a way to react after it was drowned.
But the most emotional photo came from the 2000 NBA Finals. After Kobe Bryant broke his ankle, Shaquille O'Neal carried Kobe Bryant on his back before Game 3.
Shaquille O'Neal said,
"Kobe Bryant was tough. I knew he would play. I wanted to help him save his ankle so he could do what he did."
These moments showed a different side of Shaquille O'Neal's fun and big heart, but also full of care and respect for his fellow players and friends.

Because we got focus groups when (The Drew Barrymore Show) launched and it was not good. It was awful." As per 'Female First UK', the actress admitted she worries about her breath being fresh when she gets close to her guests. Asked if she had ever pulled away because one of her interviewees had bad breath, she said, "All I'm thinking about also is, 'How's my breath?' Here's the best news, no one has had bad breath yet and I am like pupil to pupil and nobody has had bad breath." In December, a clip from the 'Drew Barrymore Show' went viral after guest playfully pushed the host away mid-conversation when she got too close, but the 'Never Been Kissed' actress insisted the lifestyle guru "really does like" her.
