5 pets from Sussex RSPCA who are looking for new homes

Rehoming a pet can be a great way to restore its confidence after potentially difficult circumstances.
A few animals from the Brighton & The Heart of Sussex branch, Sussex West branch and Sussex East & Hastings branch are listed below, but more can be found on the centre's website.
To help the RSPCA branches carry on their work, you can donate to them on the websites here, here and here.

Gender - Male
Age - Nine years old
Breed - Beagle
Colour - Tricolour
If you want to adopt Marlow you can view their full profile here.
Marlow is a "wonderful and cheeky" dog who came into the centre due to his owner's declining health.
He is said to be a "wonderful character" who is friendly with everyone he meets.
Things to Consider Before Adopting a Pet
Marlow has found the centre a bit stressful as he doesn't like being on his own for too long.
The RSPCA adds: "We are looking for a home where he will be with someone most of the time, has a cosy sofa to snuggle on and lots of yummy snacks at the ready."
He'd prefer to be the only pet in a new home and could share it with children of secondary school age.
Poppet

Poppet doesn't like being left on her own, so the RSPCA are looking to find her a home where she is with people most of the time.
They add: "Poppet is very affectionate and would love to show someone just how much love she has to give."
George

Age - Nine years old
Breed - Domestic Shorthair crossbreed
Colour - Black
If you want to adopt George you can view their full profile here.
George is said to be "the sweetest little guy" who is a lap cat and loves spending time with people.
He really likes his food which means he has a bit of weight to shed, so would benefit from having a garden to explore.
The RSPCA adds: "Because of our limited history on George, we believe that he would be best suited to a home with older children, with no other pets so that he can have lots of 1-1 time that he deserves."

Gender - Male
Age - 12 years old
Breed - Domestic Shorthair crossbreed
Colour - Black
If you want to adopt Elliott and Nigel you can view their full profile here.
Elliott and Nigel are a pair of older brothers who would ideally prefer a home where they can settle away from humans.
They could go in a garage, barn, stable, shed, or even a space in a home where they can settle in and have a cosy space to call their own.
Once settled, they can then have the flexibility to come and go as they like.
The RSPCA adds: "Being older lads they may not be active working cats, however, they do prefer a life that is more reclusive."

Disney Channel star says having kids is 'narcissistic'

Disney Channel star says having kids is 'narcissistic' Raven-Symoné has been married to Miranda Maday since 2020 but the couple do not have any children together and the former Disney Channel star has some strong views on the subject Raven-Symoné says becoming a parent is a 'narcissistic' thing to do (Image: BANG Showbiz ) Raven-Symoné has controversially labelled becoming a parent a "narcissistic" act. The 39-year-old actress, who has been married to Miranda Maday since 2020, doesn't have any children of her own. During a conversation with The Chi creator Lena Waithe on the Tea Time with Raven and Miranda podcast they discussed why anyone would choose to bring children into the world. ‌ Lena asked: "Whenever someone says to me they want to have a baby, or they want to be a parent I think my first question is: 'Why?' ‌ To which Raven responded: "It's a narcissistic act." Lena simply agreed: "True." In the same discussion the former That's So Raven star was exploring the concepts of labels and communities with Lena. Article continues below She said that abandoning "toxic mentalities" to embrace the wider world is the only way to "learn" as an individual. "When you leave that toxic mentality you're integrating yourself into the world and that's better for me," Raven added. "I love the fact that we are on a planet with so many types of thought processes and so many different types of cultures. We can learn from every single culture, from every single religion, and if you're just stuck in one group all the time you are never gonna grow. Article continues below "I have gotten in trouble a lot with things that I have said but that is ultimately what my brain wants to do. I want to travel to every single country and say: 'Oh, you cook chicken better than me, I'm gonna eat your chicken too.' Yay me! Y'all know who cooks that fried chicken, it's not just black people. This s*** is delicious. "I do wanna go to Africa and see the beautiful with the red clay on their skin, I wanna go to India and see the beautiful women with yellow clay on their skin. "There's so many ways and people to learn from and if you just stay in that circle and condemn your people for venturing out then that is toxic."

Teen Mom star Kailyn Lowry's son, 15, comes out and reveals why he changed his name to Elliott

Teen Mom alum Kailyn Lowry is celebrating a major milestone with her eldest son, who came out as gay and revealed he now goes by a new name during the latest episode of her Barely Famous podcast. The 33-year-old reality star invited her 15-year-old, whom she shares with ex Jo Rivera, to co-host Friday's episode and give an update on his life. 'It's very important to me because I feel like growing up on TV, it's hard to show who you really are when a camera is in front of you all the time,' the teen said. 'It's almost like you have a TV face. It's harder to be yourself and to be more comfortable.' He went on to explain that he changed his name after no longer feeling connected to his birth name. 'I started going by Elliott because at some point, I wasn't happy with my first name,' he said. 'It just doesn't feel like me.' Teen Mom alum Kailyn Lowry is celebrating a major milestone with her eldest son, who came out as gay and revealed he now goes by a new name during the latest episode of her Barely Famous podcast The 33-year-old reality star invited her 15-year-old, whom she shares with ex Jo Rivera, to co-host Friday's episode and give an update on his life Lowry noted that she believes the switch was partly an effort to separate from the version of himself viewers saw on MTV, and Elliott agreed that was true. He then confirmed he identifies as gay. Overcome with emotion, Lowry broke down in tears as she praised her son's courage, saying she was 'so proud' of him for embracing his identity and calling it a 'brave thing to do.' Her son added, "I'm sick of people coming up with their own stories and putting things in their own words and things coming out on other people's terms about me, because my life isn't entertainment for other people. 'My life is my life and I can do what I want with it. And for people to take things from my life, like personal stuff, is not okay. 'If I want to share it, I should share that on my own terms.' Kailyn also shares son Lincoln, 11, with ex Javi Marroquin; sons Lux, 7, and Creed, 4, with ex Chris Lopez; and son Rio, 2, with fiancé Elijah Scott. In late 2023, she also welcomed twins Verse and Valley with Scott. Overcome with emotion, Lowry broke down in tears as she praised her son's courage, saying she was 'so proud' of him for embracing his identity and calling it a 'brave thing to do' The podcast reveal comes after Kailyn showed off her slimmed down frame with bikini snaps after undergoing a breast reduction. Back in December Lowry revealed she had gotten a breast reduction just before Christmas Eve. She used her Instagram Story to share various post-op selfies as she tracked her recovery and asked fans if they wanted further content detailing her operation. Lowry's surgery came months after she revealed she was told she needed to lose weight in order to be eligible for a breast augmentation. On her Almost Famous podcast in May she said: 'I want to get a boob job, right? I call around. I'm making these consultations to get a boob job. You know what they told me? They told me I need to lose 40 pounds.' She reiterated, 'So 40 or 50 pounds, more like 50 but maybe get away with 40 pounds, before they can even operate on me.' Reflecting on the moment, the former MTV star admitted she was overcome with emotion, 'sobbing' on the phone with a doctor's office as she considered a 'breast reduction, implants [or] lift.' 'I don't even know if I can get my double chin done,' she noted. After welcoming her twins in late 2023, Kailyn admitted she wanted to try the popular weight loss drug Ozempic to drop weight quick to return to her pre-baby body. 'How hard it is to lose weight as an adult, f**k my life. I'm scared,' she admitted on her Baby Mamas No Drama podcast in January 2024. 'I was in the gym five days a week. If you're going to get plastic surgery you have to maintain it.'
