Seminars Discuss Education Sector in Eritrea
Eritrean nationals in the Italian cities of Torino, Catania, Napoli, and Padova organized seminars to discuss the role and contribution of the Diaspora nationals in the development of the education sector in Eritrea.
The seminars in Torino and Padova were led by Mr. Girmay Habtemicael, head of Public and Community Affairs at the Eritrean Embassy, Mr. Kibrom Haile, Secretary of the PFDJ in Italy, and Mr. Million, Chairman of the Eritrean Community. Participants received in-depth briefings on the history and progress of education in Eritrea, the progress made during the armed struggle and post-independence, as well as the challenges faced.
Similar seminars were conducted in Napoli and Abruzzo, led by Mr. Okbai Fremedihin, Chairman of the National Committee, and Mr. Haile Medhanie, Chairman of the YPFDJ. In Catania, seminars were led by Ms. Alganesh Abebe, Head of the National Union of Eritrean Women in Italy, and Mr. Arefaine Beraki, a member of the National Committee.
The participants expressed their readiness to contribute to national development efforts and made financial contributions toward the project for construction of boarding schools. It is worth noting that similar seminars were previously held in Rome, Milano, Bologna, Bari, and Pescara.
Additionally, Eritrean nationals in Saudi Arabia, organized under the 'White Association,' conducted a meeting to review past activities and outline future plans. They also contributed financially to the project for the construction of boarding schools in Eritrea.

Eritrea: Tour to Developmental and Historical Sites
Members of the PFDJ in the Southern Region conducted a three-day tour to developmental and historical sites in the Northern Red Sea Region. During their visits to Gahtelay Dam, where 98% of the construction has been finalized, Massawa Airport, constructed with internal capacity, a plastic and tin factory in Massawa, and the port, they were provided with briefings by managers and experts regarding the objectives of the institutions and their future plans. They also visited Dese Island, the Naval Base in Gedem, and the Northern Red Sea Museum. Noting that the program was mainly targeted at the youth, Ms. Amete Neguse, Secretary of the PFDJ in the Southern Region, commended those who participated and contributed to the successful implementation of the program, particularly the Eritrean Navy. The participants expressed satisfaction with the progress of the institutions they visited firsthand and noted that the experience will significantly enhance their involvement in national affairs. Nahyan bin Mubarak attends Italian Embassy's National Day ceremony

Eritrea: Funeral Service of Minister Woldemicael Abraha
The funeral service of veteran fighter and Minister of Local Government, Woldemicael Abraha, was held at Asmara Martyrs Cemetery in the presence of President Isaias Afwerki, Ministers, senior Government and PFDJ officials, Army Commanders, family members, and a large number of nationals. Veteran freedom fighter Minister Woldemicael Abraha began his political career in 1961 as a member of the Eritrean Liberation Movement. He formally joined the EPLF in 1974 and was elected to the Central Committee during the two of the EPLF congresses. He was also elected as a member of the PFDJ Central Committee and the National Assembly at the 3rd Congress held in 1994. Minister Woldemicael played a pivotal role in consolidating EPLF mass associations, serving as Chairman of the National Union of Eritrean Workers (1979–1987) and as Chairman of the Coordinating Committee of the National Unions of Eritrean Workers, Students, and Women. Following Eritrea's independence, Minister Woldemicael served with dedication in various high-level Government positions, including Head of the Ports and Marine Transport Authority, Governor of the Central Region, Eritrean Ambassador to Germany, Governor of the Southern Red Sea Region, Minister of Transportation and Communication, and finally as Minister of Local Government. President Isaias Afwerki laid a wreath on the tomb of Minister Woldemicael Abraha on behalf of the Eritrean Government. Mr. Yemane Gebreab laid a wreath on behalf of the PFDJ; Ambassador Abdella Musa, Governor of the Anseba Region, on behalf of the Ministry of Local Government; and Ms. Mewalit Woldemicael, daughter of the veteran fighter.
