Man spends £850 to try £225 Louis Vuitton chocolate bag
Carmie Sellitto, 26, spotted the limited-edition treat on his Instagram explore page and became determined to be among the first to review it.
The designer dessert is part of a collaboration between Louis Vuitton and celebrated pastry chef Frédéric Bau and is only available in Paris, New York, Singapore and Shanghai.
Carmie had to fork out £500 to secure an appointment at Louis Vuitton's café in Paris, where the handmade dessert is exclusively sold.
He also bought last-minute Eurostar tickets to the French capital for £350.
Carmie, a content creator from Shepherd's Bush, London: "I'd never seen anyone else film a video trying it, so I wanted to be the first.
"It was absolutely worth the money.
"I enjoyed every single bite of it.
"I wouldn't be surprised if they sold it for £500 just because how unique it was."
The chocolate egg, weighing a hefty 1.5kg, came in a huge Louis Vuitton bag, which Carmie carried across Paris and back to London with extreme care.
Carmie said: 'Carrying it back gave me so much anxiety.
"I was so on edge the whole way home.
"If it broke before I could film it, all that effort would've been for nothing.'

Carmie, who is known for trying pricey and viral luxury food, said the chocolate exceeded expectations – both in taste and detail.
He said: "There was a zip design on it and when you ran your finger over it, it felt like you could actually unzip it.
"You could even feel the Louis Vuitton logo with your tongue.
"The chocolate had a hazelnut praline filling and the shell had the most satisfying crunch.
"It might've been the placebo effect from how much I spent but it genuinely was one of the best chocolates I've ever had."

While the chocolate bag itself cost £225, Carmie ended up spending nearly four times that amount between the booking fee and travel costs.
He said: 'When I told the Louis Vuitton staff I came from London just for the chocolate and they looked at me like I was crazy.
"But after the video went live, they actually reached out and thanked me.
"It was really sweet."

Laura Anderson takes 'veiled swipe' at ex Gary Lucy in Father's Day post
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info The romance between Love Island's Laura Anderson and actor Gary Lucy was anything but plain sailing after the birth of their daughter two years ago. Despite a brief reconciliation before their daughter's arrival, the couple called it quits in February 2023, with Laura's lingering resentment towards Gary still apparent. On Father's Day, Laura took to Instagram with a pointed message praising "Great dads who show up and financially support their children. You children love you." It's believed that Gary's commitments to his children from a previous relationship played a part in the couple's split, following Laura's suggestion that he relocate to Scotland to be closer to their daughter Bonnie, aged two. READ MORE - Rod Stewart breaks silence after wife Penny Lancaster's huge announcement READ MORE - Liam Gallagher slams Edinburgh Council ahead of gigs warning 'your attitude stinks' Gary found himself on the sharp end of Laura's ire last October when he shared photos with Bonnie, prompting Laura to publicly request: "Instead of posting videos of the one time you saw your daughter this year, can you please reply to my text from 2weeks ago please, that would be great." Her post garnered significant attention and seemed to compel Gary to defend his role as a father, reports the Mirror. In a rebuttal on his own social media, Gary posted an adorable photo with his son Theodore, captioning it: "I could eat him all up." The dad's hashtags under his post seemed to indicate his annoyance at Laura's insinuation that he was absent from his daughter's life, capping off his message with "#handsomeboy, #deadbeatdad." followed by a middle finger emoji. Talking to the Mirror about her experiences as a single mum, Laura shared: "But that's the cards I was dealt in the end. Of course, I'm going to make it work for my child, even more so. I feel like I'm a really good mum, to be honest." She continued: "Prioritise what you need to do, it's just me. I have to make it work. I am tired but of course, I'm going to be tired. I'm bringing up a human soul, that's what I signed up for." Laura also shared her thoughts for other single parents, stating: "[Bonnie's] great, your social life does a take a little bit of a backseat but most people, your good friends understand that."

Ioan Gruffudd, 51, announces he's expecting first child with his wife Bianca, 32
Welsh actor Ioan Gruffudd, 51, is welcoming his first baby with his wife Bianca Wallace, 32, just weeks after getting married. The newlyweds shared the happy news on Instagram with a silhouette of the Fantastic Four star kneeling on the floor, kissing his wife's baby bump. 'Baby Gruffudd poppin' out to say hello!' he wrote in the caption to his 110,000 followers as friends, family and fans flocked to share their congratulations. 'I'm going to be an auntie, baby G, you are so loved already,' one user claiming to be Bianca's sister, Chanel, wrote in the comments. 'Best news ever,' Quinn Hempill said. 'Oh my gosh yes!!!!' itslizzyjane added. 'Congratulations to you both. Such exciting news,' shared. 'Omg this is delightful news!!! Oh @iambiancawallace I am so happy for you both! Congratulations,' stephneathwaybrown. 'Congratulations, wishing you all the best. You both deserve it so much,' kapunzel_ echoed. In April, the pair shared grainy snaps of their special day on the coast to Instagram just weeks ago, wearing a silky halterneck wedding dress and formal suit, with the caption: 'Mr & Mrs Gruffudd. Marriage now, wedding later.' The Titanic star first announced his relationship with the Australian actor in October 2021 months after Gruffudd filed for divorce from The Christmas Carol's Alice Evans with whom he is still undergoing a tough custody battle. He shares two children -16-year-old Ella and 12-year-old Elsie – with his ex-wife whom he met on the set of 102 Dalmations in 2000 and married the same year their first daughter was born. His divorce was finalised in 2023 and he shared his engagement to Wallace in January 2024. The former couple announced their separation in January 2021 when Evans claimed Gruffudd had 'announced he was leaving his family' and left 'me and my daughters sad and confused'. Afterwards, in a joint statement, they said it was 'an incredibly difficult time for our family' and they both remained committed to their children. Between 2021 and 2024, the troubled relationship between the pair escalated. In August 2022, Gruffudd was granted a three-year restraining order against Evans after claiming she had threatened to make 'false accusations' about him, including child and domestic abuse and had made targeted social media posts – all of which Evans has denied. More Trending In 2024, Gruffudd accused Evans of violating the restraining order and custody agreement by allegedly posting 'disparagingly' about him and his then-fiancee which was also preventing him from 'obtaining new work', with his legal team citing several alleged examples. In a sworn statement submitted through a court filing in September, Evans said she had 'not engaged in that conduct for years' and claimed Ioan's allegations around fake accounts was 'found to be completely false' by the police. 'I sincerely hope that, at least for the sake of our children who have been dealing with this for four years now, Ioan can accept my apology and we can move on to the actual issues that remain to be settled,' she concluded.
