Steelers countdown to kickoff — No. 21: a history of the number and who wore it best
Current Steelers No. 21 wearer: S Chuck Clark
One of the newest additions to Pittsburgh's safety room, S Chuck Clark is the current No. 21 wearer on the Steelers roster. Clark spent six seasons in enemy territory, AKA the Baltimore Ravens, before joining the Jets in 2023. His presence in Pittsburgh is designed to bolster the depth behind FS Juan Thornhill and SS DeShon Elliott — but he's a capable starter if his number is called.
Last five Steelers to wear No. 21:
Best No. 21 in Steelers history: C Chuck Cherundolo
Arguably the best Steeler to wear No. 21 is C Chuck Cherundolo — a talented Pennsylvania native who played for the Steelers during the 1940s. He signed with the Cleveland Rams as an undrafted free agent in 1937 and played three seasons there before joining the Philadelphia Eagles in 1940.
Cherundolo signed with Pittsburgh the following year and played for the Steelers from 1941-1942 and 1945-1948. During his Steel City tenure, Cherundolo was named to two Pro Bowls and earned a Second Team All-Pro selection. For his stellar play in the 1940s, Cherundolo was named to the Pittsburgh Steelers Legends Team — more reason to name him the best to ever wear No. 21.

Eagles announce 3-time Pro Bowler will be inducted into franchise Hall of Fame
The post Eagles announce 3-time Pro Bowler will be inducted into franchise Hall of Fame appeared first on ClutchPoints. The Philadelphia Eagles will be inducting three-time Pro Bowl safety Malcolm Jenkins into the franchise's Hall of Fame. As the defending champions, the Eagles will celebrate their 2024 championship during their home opener and celebrate Jenkins' induction, which will take place during their Week 13 matchup against the Chicago Bears on November 28. The Eagles announced Jenkins' induction to their Hall of Fame, per The Athletic's Zach Betman. 'Malcolm Jenkins will be inducted into the Eagles Hall of Fame this season, the team announced,' Betman reported. Jenkins joins 49 players who have been inducted into the Eagles Hall of Fame. He finished with 406 tackles and 11 interceptions in six seasons with the Eagles. After spending his first five seasons with the New Orleans Saints, Jenkins joined Philadelphia in 2014, where he spent his prime years and was named to three Pro Bowl teams. He helped the Eagles win two Super Bowl victories in 2009 and 2017. Jason Kelce drops humble admission on Eagles Hall of Fame Eagles center Jason Kelce put a bow on his NFL career in 2023. As the five-time Pro Bowler who helped the Eagles win a Super Bowl title in 2017, Kelce talked about the NFL Hall of Fame and the likelihood of being honored sometime soon. Kelce humbly addressed the Hall of Fame, per the Exciting Mics podcast with Eagles running backs Cooper DeJean and Reed Blankenship. 'It will be weird to be honest with you. And I think it's weird because I don't even think I'm the best player that I've played with in the NFL,' Kelce said. 'Even on the offensive line. Jason Peters, Lane Johnson, Brandon Brooks, they're all better players than I ever was.' Kelce couldn't envision himself on the same level as some of his teammates during his time with the Eagles. 'I think I was very good at Center, but I was a scheme specific guy. And when I think of Hall of Fame players, I think of people that, this is a guy that was so good that no matter what team, who he played with, wherever he was at he was going to be one of the best players of all-time. And I just don't think that was the case for me,' said Kelce. Kelce was a seven-time Pro-Bowler who spent his entire 13-year NFL career with the Eagles. He was named to five consecutive Pro Bowls before retiring in 2024 at 36, one season before the Eagles captured their fifth Super Bowl title. "How To Rob a Bank" actor Nicholas Hoult visits the sidelines of Steelers' preseason game
Turns out, Lex Luthor is a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. The Superman villain is most definitely a renegade. If you looked closely at the sidelines of Saturday's Steelers preseason game at Acrisure Stadium, you may have spotted actor Nicholas Hoult. He portrayed the iconic villain in this summer's hit "Superman" movie. But, right now, the star is in Pittsburgh filming "How To Rob a Bank" with Pete Davidson, Zoe Kravitz, Anna Sawai and other Hollywood stars. Hoult recorded a reel from the sidelines of the game, greeting Steelers Nation and cheering on the team. It's posted to the Steelers' social media accounts. This isn't the first sporting event Hoult has attended during his stay in Pittsburgh. He and Sawai threw out the first pitch at a Pittsburgh Pirates game in July. Plus, the movie cast, including John C. Reilly, dined at Alla Famiglia restaurant in the city's Allentown neighborhood. The restaurant posted a photo on their Instagram. The Amazon MGM Studios flick is the latest feature film from director David Leitch, who has directed "Deadpool 2," "Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw," and "Bullet Train," among others. Production began in the Pittsburgh area in mid-June and is scheduled to run through August. In July, the movie crew took over SSB Bank along Perry Highway in McCandless to shoot scenes for the film. They were spotted with equipment and signs outside. The movie is set to release in September 2026, according to Movie Casting PGH.
