Publisher Ubisoft - known for making Assassin's Creed - have given some users who made purchases a refund.
The game in question is XDefiant, which was set in the Ubisoft universe with map locations based on several of the firm's biggest titles.
It appears the decision to axe the title was because it failed to become profitable.
"Many free-to-play games take a long time to find their footing and become profitable," Mark Rubin, the game's executive producer said.
"It's a long journey that Ubisoft and the teams working on the game were prepared to make until very recently.
"But unfortunately, the journey became too much to sensibly continue."
He also tweeted in April that the whole team behind it were laid off.
New downloads and purchases were already blocked in December when news of XDefiant's closure was first announced.
Existing users have been able to continue playing on PlayStation, Xbox and PC but now the final nail in the coffin is here.
Ubisoft is switching off the servers on Tuesday ending the game forever.

Fans have shared their sadness on social media.
"Man this game was so fun, its sad to see it go so early, already have nostalgic feelings," one person wrote on Reddit.
Another commented: "Thank you xDefiant for bringing me back to fps-arcade shooters and actually having a fun game."
Ubisoft is offering a full refund to anyone who bought a Ultimate Founders Pack.

Unassuming corner shop was seen by millions on classic 70s sitcom – but would you recognise it?

It was earmarked for demolition before campaigners saved it in 2008 HOUSE ABOUT THAT Unassuming corner shop was seen by millions on classic 70s sitcom – but would you recognise it? A CORNER shop from a classic 70s sitcom went under the hammer last year and is now an unassuming home. The building quietly sits in the Balby suburb of Doncaster in South Yorkshire. It's likely that those living next-door have no idea that the building was once on one of Britain's most iconic TV shows. Open All Hours, which aired in 1976, ran for four seasons. It was rated the eighth best sitcom in the country in 2004. Advertisement The show ran from 1976 to 1985 and had 17 million viewers a week at its peak. Created by Roy Clarke, the plot followed Albert Arkwright, who runs a grocery shop in Doncaster's Balby and is in love with Nurse Gladys, who lives opposite his shop. But Gladys rejects his proposals as she has to look after her ill mother. The fictional shop owned by Arkwright - played by Ronnie Barker - used a residential property for exterior shots. Advertisement After the show ended, the building went up for auction but failed to sell. It was earmarked for demolition before campaigners saved it in 2008. The property was then concerned into a unisex hairdressers, called the Beautique hair salon. Auctioneers hoped that the property's TV history would attract plenty of bidders when it went to auction on October 16 with a guide price of £150,000. Advertisement The building came with two self-contained flats on the upper floor and boasts an annual rent of £16,440 when fully let. Film crews moved in for weeks at a time for each series of Open All Hours. The end-terrace on Lister Avenue in Balby, less than a mile from Doncaster city centre, became a tourist attraction over the years. But now, those passing by would never guess at the house's history and fame. Here's when PS Plus Extra and Premium June 2025 free games are being announced

The PS Plus Extra and Premium June 2025 games are set to be announced soon, and we've got all the details you need to know about when you can expect them Two titles have already been confirmed for the PS Plus Extra and Premium June 2025 roster, but there's plenty more speculation about what else might be on the cards. Despite a somewhat lacklustre reveal of Sand Land as the headline act last month, PlayStation kicked off its PS Plus June 2025 free games with a surprise drop for Essential subscribers, as well as a smattering of titles for PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers, so we'll write off May as a blip for now. ‌ The recent PlayStation State of Play showcase (via YouTube) made some significant announcements, including the release of Twisted Metal 3 and 4 on Tuesday, July 15, and Resident Evil 2 and 3 in the summer. It was also revealed that Sword of the Sea, the latest adventure from the creators of Journey, will debut on the service on day one in August. ‌ Some of these releases are imminent, with FBC: Firebreak set to land on PS Plus Extra on Tuesday, June 17, along with the original Deus Ex for Premium subscribers. These games are guaranteed to arrive this month, giving us a solid starting point for predicting other potential additions. The most effective way to anticipate what might be included in a future PS Plus release is by examining the games that were released on the service at the same time last year, noting their original PlayStation release dates, adding a year to those dates, and seeing what matches up. In this instance, we'd be looking at the PS Plus June 2025 Extra and Premium lineup, which boasted Monster Hunter Rise, Crusader Kings 3 and Monster Energy Supercross – The Video Game 6. Given that Monster Hunter was initially launched in March 2021, the subsequent year is a good indicator for game releases, with titles such as Bleach: Brave Souls, Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin and Tiny Tina's Wonderlands making an appearance. The inclusion of these games would result in a satisfying PS Plus June 2025 Extra and Premium games drop for many players. However, with FBC: Firebreak already confirmed, it hardly needs these additions to make it a standout month. But when exactly will this new collection of games be unveiled? Here's everything you need to know about the PS Plus Extra and Premium June 2025 games reveal date. ‌ PS Plus Extra and Premium June 2025 games reveal date The PS Plus Extra and Premium June 2025 games reveal date is scheduled for Wednesday,June 11 at 8.30am PDT / 11.30am EDT / 4.30pm BST. This is because the PS Plus Extra and Premium games for any given month are always announced on its second Wednesday, before being released on the following Tuesday, which in this case is Tuesday, June 17. It's refreshing to have a sneak peek at the forthcoming PS Plus Extra and Premium June 2025 games this month, and Sony could still surprise us with this month's release. While the average adult typically turns something down as often as twice a week, it has been revealed that 27 is the age when someone is most likely to say yes to new opportunities. Of those who felt the opposite, being settled into a routine (41 per cent) was considered the biggest barrier, while others blamed life being more complicated now (35 per cent), being too tired (33 per cent) and wanting to plan things in advance (33 per cent). And 59 per cent hope to be less 'afraid' of taking on new challenges in the future. Danny Wallace said: "Twenty years ago I decided to say 'yes' to whatever came my way… and it led to the best adventures. 'I went places I would never have gone and I met people I'd never have met. I tried new things and made new memories. So, when Halfords asked me to celebrate twenty years by hopping in a car and trying more new stuff, it would have been weird to say no. 5 Climbing a mountain was the 12th most sought after opportunity Credit: Getty 'Even though when they asked me if I'd like 'to go sea kayaking', I thought they meant they were just going to take me to 'see kayaking', which would have been a lot easier. 'That said, saying yes more is something we should all try and build into our days. 'Yes to something different or new. I wholeheartedly support you doing the same this summer.' The study also revealed the top things Brits would like to try for the first time, with mastering a foreign language topping the list (21 per cent). Others would like to skydive or learn a musical instrument (both 15 per cent) or even move abroad (14 per cent). Paul Ray, from Halfords, which is encouraging people to give their car a 'Free 5 Point Summer Check' to ensure it's ready for adventure, said: 'While Brits might get set in their ways, 62 per cent feel they would be more likely to say YES if they felt ready for anything, especially when the sun's out and the kids are off school.
