Under new general manager Chad Bowden, USC recruiting has made massive strides this offseason. It seems as though the Trojans are trying to send a message: Even if a guy is committed to your school, that doesn't mean you are safe.
On Tuesday, four-star defensive lineman Tomuhini Topui decommitted from Oregon. According to several recruiting sites, Topui is widely expected to end up at USC. Topui was at the Trojans' first spring practice on Tuesday wearing USC gear.
Landing Topui would be a massive addition for Bowden and the Trojans to add to their already top-ranked recruiting class. According to 247Sports Composite, he is the No. 130 overall player and the No. 15 defensive lineman in the class of 2026.
Topui attends Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana. Perhaps the most well-known feeder program for USC, Mater Dei has produced numerous past Trojans stars, including Matt Leinart, Matt Barkley, and Amon-Ra St. Brown. Reestablishing a strong pipeline with the program would be huge for Bowden and USC in future recruiting cycles.

Riley Gaines suggested on Monday in a radio interview that she was stunned by the public's response to Simone Biles' personal attack against her. The Olympic great launched into Gaines with a post responding to the former NCAA swimmer criticizing Minnesota softball officials for turning comments off of a post celebrating a high school's state championship win with a transgender player on the team. Biles called Gaines "truly sick" among other things. But the social media reaction didn't appear to get behind the gold medalist. "To acknowledge how the public has shifted to this, look at Simone Biles' comments section, go on Instagram, go on Twitter, go on any article that's being posted, go on TikTok and she is getting absolutely demolished to the point where I almost feel bad for her, like I really do," Gaines said on "Clay & Buck."
