Word ‘Jewish' ripped from comedian's posters at the Edinburgh Fringe
Earlier in the festival Rachel Creeger had one show cancelled over alleged staff concerns about potential security risks.
Ms Creeger was offered the chance to perform at another venue, Hoots, and posters were put out advertising her show, Ultimate Jewish Mother.
The word 'Jewish' appears to have been deliberately burned on outdoor posters, rendering the 'Jew' illegible.
She posted on Instagram: 'Overnight, vandals burned out the word Jew out of the signage outside my lovely venue. I am not going to let this break me, but I am not going to lie, it's a tough day.'
The vandalism marks the latest in a string of controversies at the Fringe, amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict.
In July, Ms Creeger and Philip Simon were set to perform at the Whistlebinkies venue in Edinburgh.
However, they claimed they were informed that their gigs would be cancelled after bar staff at the venue expressed fears of feeling 'unsafe'.
It was claimed that the concerns were raised after an announcement that the venue would receive extra police supervision amid continued worries over the safety of Jewish acts.
Days later, having found an alternative venue, Mr Simon was cancelled again, barred from the Banshee Labyrinth pub because of alleged 'rhetoric and symbology' linked to Israel.
One reason cited by the venue for cancelling his show, Shall I Compere Thee in a Funny Way?, was his attendance at a vigil for people killed in the 2023 Hamas terror attacks.
He said of the incident: 'I am still processing the concept that in 2025 I can be cancelled just for being Jewish. In the meantime, I will still be at the Fringe for my one remaining children's show and continue to investigate possible alternative venues for both of my cancelled shows.'
It is understood that the alleged vandalism has been reported to Police Scotland.

Another 60 people to be prosecuted for ‘showing support for Palestine Action'
A further 60 people will be prosecuted for 'showing support for the proscribed terrorist group Palestine Action', the Metropolitan Police have said. The force said this follows the arrest of more than 700 people since the group was banned on July 7, including 522 in central London last Saturday. More prosecutions are expected in the coming weeks, and arrangements have been put in place 'that will enable us to investigate and prosecute significant numbers each week if necessary', the Met said. Palestine Action was proscribed in July after the group claimed responsibility for damage to jets at RAF Brize Norton and was also linked to allegations of a serious assault on staff and police officers at a business premises in south Gloucestershire, the force said. Last weekend in central London 15,000 people demonstrated peacefully in support of the Palestinian cause with only one arrest, police said, adding that 522 were arrested 'for an illegal show of support for Palestine Action on the same day'. Stephen Parkinson, director of public prosecutions, said: 'The decisions that we have announced today are the first significant numbers to come out of the recent protests, and many more can be expected in the next few weeks. We are ready to make swift decisions in all cases where arrests have been made. 'The public has a democratic right to protest peacefully in this country, and I understand the depth of feeling around the horrific scenes in Gaza. 'However, Palestine Action is now a proscribed terrorist organisation and those who have chosen to break the law will be subject to criminal proceedings under the Terrorism Act. 'When protest conduct crosses the line from lawful activity into criminality, we have a duty to enforce the law. ' People should be clear about the real-life consequences for anyone choosing to support Palestine Action. A terrorism conviction can severely impact your life and career – it can restrict your ability to travel overseas and work in certain professions. 'I urge people to think very carefully about their actions at protests. Anyone who chooses to disobey the law will have to face the consequences.'

Scots stand-up Gary Little dies as iconic Glasgow comedy club pays tribute
TRIBUTES have poured in for "incredible" and "absolute powerhouse" Scottish comedian Gary Little. The award-winning stand-up comic, who was known for being "one of Scotland's finest comedians", has passed away aged 61. His tragic passing was announced on social media this evening. While his cause of death has yet to be revealed, it is understood that he died while on a hill climb in Scotland, according to The Courier. Gary turned his life around after being banged up in Scotland's most notorious jail — and went on to become one of the country's comedy circuit stalwarts. And the kind-hearted comedian later dedicated some of his spare time to rescuing caged hens destined for slaughter and nursing them back to health in his garden in Glasgow. He was due to perform in Aberdeen next month before his sudden death. Trubites have poured in from across the comedy community, with many taking to social media to pay their respects. Iconic comedy club The Stand praised Gary for being "an incredible comic, huge personality and friend to many." In a post on Instagram, the club wrote: "We here at The Stand are utterly devastated to hear the news of the passing of big Gary Little. "An incredible comic, huge personality and friend to many. "We are lost for words, and he will be profoundly and sorely missed. Our thoughts go out to all his family and friends right now. "There will be many a comic thinking about him tonight, telling stories and raising a glass. He would have liked that." The Some Laugh podcast also posted: "We're absolutely gutted to learn of the passing of the legend Gary Little. "Gary was one of the best stand-ups Scotland has ever produced, an absolute powerhouse of a comedian as well as a genuinely lovely guy with a heart of gold. "It was a pleasure to learn from someone like Gary as we were all coming up on the comedy scene, and his episode an appearance on our live show are up there with the all-time moments of the pod." The Glee Club in Glasgow said: "We're completely shocked and heartbroken to hear about the passing of our dear friend, Gary Little. "Gary wasn't just one of Scotland's finest comedians, he was a true original. He had a huge heart, a razor sharp sense of humour, and a knack for making you feel like you'd known him forever. "He could make an entire room feel like they were sitting with an old friend. He played our opening weekend, and was a permanent fixture at the venue ever since. "Gary was due to perform with us this weekend and it's difficult to put into words how much we will miss his presence, his humour and his friendship. "We are deeply grateful for the years of memories, the countless laughs, and the privilege of working with him. "There really was nobody else like him. We'll miss him more than we can say. "Rest easy Gary and thank you for every single laugh." Jo Caulfield shared: "Gary Little was a great comic and an amazing person to spend time with. We are all poorer for losing you, Gary. "My love and sympathy to his family and loved ones. "I will truly miss not seeing you backstage and never hearing that big mischievous laugh. Too soon. RIP my friend." "Gary Little I could rhyme off hundreds of stories of the times we've spent backstage and in car journeys together, the big man's stern gaze, his lack of tolerance for people over running on their time on stage, but most of all his warmth and empathy. "I remember when I first compèred Jongleurs and he was opening, I could see his silhouette pacing around at the back of the room whilst I thought I was 'smashing it'. "He came up to after the opening section and 'what you dain?!' I was shocked and said 'what?' He replied 'what you dain talkin to the front row at a Jongleurs's gig? Nobody else can see them?!' "He brought me back to earth with a bang and he was right. I wish every gig I done had a Big Gary at it and I hope he's doubling up whenever he does his next gigs. RIP big man.
