A man wanted for a
hit-and-run in West Philadelphia that killed a 78-year-old grandmother
in December 2022 was arrested on Tuesday, the U.S. Marshals Service Eastern Pennsylvania Violent Crime Fugitive Task Force said.
Jovan Lowe,
21, was taken into custody for charges including homicide by vehicle in connection with the deadly hit-and-run on Dec. 28 that killed Julia Mae Abraham.
Investigators learned Lowe was hiding at a home on the 4600 block of Hawthorne Street in the Frankford section of Northeast Philadelphia and during the arrest, he attempted to jump out of a second-story window but was quickly forced back into the home, Marshals said in the release.
Philly police issued an arrest warrant for Lowe on Dec. 31, 2022. At the time, he was wanted on charges of murder, homicide by vehicle and evading police.
Investigators believe Lowe was behind the wheel of a stolen white Jeep Grand Cherokee that struck a parked Mercury Mariner on the 3700 block of Fairmount Avenue in the Mantua section of West Philly. Abraham was inside the Mariner, which was hit on the driver's side.
Police said the driver and the passenger of the Jeep left the scene. Authorities said the car was stolen out of King of Prussia.
"Our persistence in pursuing those who commit such senseless crimes is never diminished by time, and hope Jovan Lowe's arrest will bring some closure to Julia Abraham's family," said Eric Gartner, United States Marshal for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, in the release.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man who claimed to be searching for his 'raccoon friend' in a Nashville alleyway is now facing drug charges, officials said. According to court documents, officers were conducting patrol near a fire station in the 600 block of President Ronald Regan Way South when they observed a dark-colored Jeep parked in an alleyway. Dallas Murder Suspect Caught After Jeep Found Burned
Dallas Police have arrested the suspect in a murder that took place during Memorial Day weekend. The Dallas Police Department arrested 22-year-old Terrance Lowe on June 3, 'in connection with' the killing of 22-year-old Davion NeRay Clines, according to a press release. Lowe is charged with murder. The Dallas Police Fugitive Unit arrested Lowe, and he is currently being held in the Dallas County Jail. According to jail records, Lowe was booked on June 3 just past 10:30 p.m. His bond is set at zero, and he faces a single murder charge. Dallas police responded to 1922 Berkley Ave on the evening of May 24, as The Dallas Express reported at the time. When they arrived, they found an 'unconscious male victim in the alley, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.' While Dallas Fire-Rescue responded, the victim – who turned out to be Clines – died. His death was ruled a 'homicide.' Clines reportedly met Lowe close to 5 p.m. in a parking lot for a marijuana deal, according to Fox 4. Clines allegedly got into a Jeep Renegade with Lowe, and the vehicle 'sped out of the parking lot with Clines still inside.' Police reportedly thought Clines was kidnapped. Lowe's girlfriend called and reported the Jeep stolen soon after the possible kidnapping, Fox 4 reported. Police found the vehicle near 2400 Budd Street that day after 11:30 p.m., with its license plates removed – and after it had been set on fire. There was allegedly 'visible blood' inside the car where Clines was believed to have gotten in. While Clines and Lowe reportedly met 'just before 5 p.m.,' the Dallas County Medical Examiner listed the victim's time of death as 4:10 p.m., as The Dallas Express previously reported. The Dallas Express asked the Dallas Police for comment, but Lt. Tramese Jones said the press release included 'all the available information.'

Lululemon store targeted in smash and grab in Lakeview
CHICAGO — A Lululemon store was burglarized in a smash and grab on the city's North Side. The incident happened around 5:15 a.m. Thursday on the 3500 block of North Southport in the Lakeview neighborhood. According to police, a group of five male offenders broke the front glass door of the athletic apparel retailer, and removed an unknown amount of merchandise from within Lululemon. The offenders then entered a black SUV, possibly a Jeep, and fled southbound, police said. A description of the offenders have no been provided by police.
