Matera to become most capped Argentina player against England
A depleted England without their British & Irish Lions players outplayed their hosts in a comprehensive 35-12 victory last Saturday to ensure they keep their record of never having lost a series to Argentina.
Home coach Felipe Contepomi has made three changes to the backline with wings Matias Moroni and Ignacio Mendy coming into the side to form a back three with Benjamin Elizalde.
Simon Benitez Cruz also returns to scrumhalf to partner flyhalf Santiago Carreras, with the centre pairing made up of Justo Piccardo and Lucio Cinti.
Matera's move to number eight means Santiago Grondona is promoted from the bench to start, with Juan Martin Gonzalez the other flanker. Guido Petti and Pedro Rubiolo are in the second row.
Matera takes over from former hooker Agustin Creevy as Argentina's most capped player of all time.
Hooker Julian Montoya will captain the side again and has props Thomas Gallo and Francisco Gomez Kodela either side of him.

Owen Farrell has missed out on a place in the Lions matchday squad with Marcus Smith preferred on the bench for the first Test against Australia, Telegraph Sport understands. Tom Curry, the Sale Sharks openside flanker, is also poised to win a place in a ferociously competitive back row for game against the Wallabies at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on Saturday. Henry Pollock, the dynamic 20-year-old England flanker, has been squeezed out of the matchday 23. Yet the biggest surprise is that Farrell will not be involved in the Lions squad against the Wallabies, barring any late injuries in training on Wednesday. Ever since Telegraph Sport broke the story that head coach Andy Farrell had called up his own son to replace the injured Elliot Daly, it appeared inevitable that the 33-year-old would at least gain a place on the bench. Farrell, the former England captain, made his first appearance of the tour after coming on as a replacement in the 48-0 victory against an AUNZ invitational XV on Saturday and instantly demonstrated his class. 'He's done exactly what we knew he was going to do in terms of help and influence, and obviously contributed on the field when that time came up,' Richard Wigglesworth, the Lions assistant coach, said on Tuesday. 'You all know how good he is, the influence he has, his knowledge and how he helps other people get better. I don't need to stand (sit) here, saying it again. 'We're going over old ground and it only comes up because it's maybe not expressed like that at the time. We all knew how good he was going to be and it's been that way. As he does, he's always working on getting better and doing that. But he's the influential Owen that we know and love.' However, Farrell was called up having not played a match for nearly nine weeks before the tour after an injury-hit season with Racing 92 in which he was dogged by a groin problem. He had not played Test rugby since the 2023 World Cup when he stepped down from international rugby. Andy Farrell has repeatedly stated that he views Owen primarily as an inside centre rather than a fly half. Smith, the Harlequins playmaker, can cover the back three, which may have been a trump card in his selection, with Mack Hansen and Blair Kinghorn both set to miss out through injury. Perhaps the most contentious area of selection was in the back row where it appears Curry will be trusted to deliver in the Test match despite not delivering his best form on the tour. The likes of Jac Morgan, Josh van der Flier, Ben Earl and Pollock had all delivered stronger individual displays but Curry has the pedigree of starting all three Tests of the 2021 series against South Africa. Although Curry has not been in as eye-catching form in Australia, Andy Farrell has raved about his off-ball work. 'He's a machine,' Farrell said. 'His work rate, his stuff off the ball is very impressive. The stuff that he does off the ball makes teams tick. He's so fit, so determined to have an impact on the game, especially as far as physicality is concerned. I think he started the tour really well.' England's Ollie Chessum, who can cover second row and blindside flanker, is also set to be handed a starting berth and Jack Conan is likely to be trusted at No 8. Following the win against the AUNZ team, the coaches held their final selection meeting on Monday night before informing the players of the team at a squad meeting on Wednesday, when they will have their main performance training session of the week. Wigglesworth said that the coaches' meeting was challenging in terms of discussing selection. 'It certainly wasn't easy,' Wigglesworth said. 'Very conversational as it always has been the whole way through, as it was with the selection process. Willing to be challenged on it, everyone being able to voice an opinion and then we come back to it and back to it again. 'It wasn't very, 'this is the team, this is final'. It's still not been announced so who knows? We could go back and we're having another one.'

Burke feels force of destiny in Scotland debut

We know how important this game is and we are pretty focused on getting it right."Burke ended the game playing at full-back after Adam Hastings' introduction."I wasn't expecting that, but I played a little bit of full-back when I was still in New Zealand at Crusaders, so I felt reasonably comfortable there and I enjoyed playing with Adam as well," he added."I thought it was good when he came on and we probably got our most attacking in that last 10 minutes with ball in hand."

Son of NRL club's biggest legend organises fan march to force club to sack team's CEO - but precisely ZERO people show up
The son of one of the greatest NRL players to ever lace up a boot has tried to oust South Sydney chairman Blake Solly - and failed in spectacular fashion. There has been bad blood between Rod Churchill, the son of Clive Churchill, and South Sydney for years. Previously, Rod Churchill took aim at Souths chairman Nick Pappas and heavily criticised star player Latrell Mitchell in leaked text messages. On that occasion, he called Mitchell a ' cancer ' on the club, which went down like a lead balloon. 'Where was the human headline Mitchell tonight Nicholas?' that text read. 'Missing again, this was his big game apparently? Your club will not win another comp for another 40 years if this imposter remains at Souths. 'He is a complete myth who has the aboriginal cause paramount and south sydney second, if at all. 'I hope you and family are well. Nothing was done and now this cancer that is Mitchell has ruined the club.' That spray led to the NRL intervening, banning him from presenting the Clive Churchill Medal on grand final day to the best player on ground. It appears that has done little to reduce the friction between Churchill and the club, with News Corp revealing that Rod recently tried to organise a rally to have Solly and long-time official Mark Ellison removed from their posts. However, nobody turned up - not even Rod Churchill himself. There was plenty of hope at Redfern before the 2025 season after the club managed to woo supercoach Wayne Bennett back from The Dolphins. Instead, the club has endured a wretched injury toll that has claimed big scalps including skipper Cameron Murray, half Cody Walker and blue-chip recruit Brandon Smith. That has seen the Bunnies crash to second last on the NRL ladder and not looking likely to make the finals again. Rabbitohs boss Blake Solly has hit back at Rod Churchill for his latest comments against him and the club Churchill has laid the blame on Solly and Ellison for their role in recruitment in abusive messages he sent to Solly. 'U are an uneducated dope,' one reads. 'I thank (sic) you realise that Look in the mirror.' He added: 'Find something Else blakev (sic). Other messages included: 'No response from you 3.6! Years you maggott (sic).' 'Not done pope (sic).' 'Thats the last if texts (sic). If suggest you call u me (sic).' Then, at the end of last month, Churchill tried to organise a march last Saturday to have the Rabbitohs boss removed from his role. A social media post called for members to march from the club's headquarters at Heffron Park to Souths Juniors in protest, However not a single soul showed up, except for Souths staff members who were there to monitor proceedings that never happened. Solly responded to Rod Churchill's most recent attacks, saying there was no need for them. 'Our club has always had the utmost respect for the Churchill family and Clive's enormous contribution to the Rabbitohs,' Solly said.
