Munster announce three fixtures in pre-season schedule
MUNSTER HAVE ANNOUNCED three pre-season fixtures ahead of the 2025/26 season.
With Clayton McMillan taking over in July, Munster will face Biarritz Olympique Pays Basque, Gloucester Rugby and Bath Rugby in August and September ahead of the 2025/26 URC season beginning on 27 Saturday September.

Munster begin with a trip to Biarritz on 22 August. The Irish province will then travel to Kingsholm to take on Gloucester Rugby on 5 September.
Concluding preparations for the new season will be the visit of Premiership Champions Bath Rugby to Virgin Media Park in Cork on 12 September.

Noel Hunt lands first summer transfer as Reading swoop for ex-Limerick defender
Reading manager Noel Hunt has hailed the signing of Irish defender Paudie O'Connor from Lincoln. O'Connor, who captained the Imps, has signed a four-year contract after arriving on a free transfer, and former Ireland striker Hunt is thrilled with the deal. The Limerick native played in the League of Ireland with his hometown club Limerick, before moving to Leeds United in 2017. After loan spells with Blackpool and Bradford, he completed a permanent switch to Bradford in 2019. Lincoln signed him three years ago after his contract expired - and now Reading have taken advantage of a similar situation by landing the 27-year-old for free. Former Shamrock Rovers, Reading and Leeds striker Hunt said: 'Paudie is a fantastic lad and will be a big character in the dressing room. 'He's exactly the type of person we want at our Football Club for our rebuild. He's been a huge part of Lincoln's success over the past three years. 'We've had our eyes on him for a while, I've been a big admirer of his for some time. I knew about him when he was in the Leeds setup, and I can't wait to work with him on a day to day basis.' O'Connor spent two years at Limerick, suffering relegation before helping the club bounce back up again. After trials at Crystal Palace and Leicester, he earned a move to Leeds and made his debut at Elland Road against Sunderland near the end of the 2017/18 campaign. He played a total of four times for Leeds, and is now closing in on 350 career appearances. O'Connor was Bradford's Player of the Year in both 2021 and 2022, and the club's Players' Player of the Year in 2022. Conor McGregor linked with shock takeover bid of English football club
Conor McGregor has been linked with a takeover bid for English football club Hartlepool United. The club has been the subject of takeover rumours for many months with chairman and owner Raj Singh reportedly looking to sell the club. A consortium named the Herd International Group has emerged as front runners to take over the National League side, and there has speculation that Irish MMA star McGregor could be involved in the takeover, speculation which was intensified when the Dubliner followed the club on social media. One to often flaunt his wealth, the ex-UFC champion has spoken in the past of his desire to become more involved in football, even going as far as to suggest that he would be interested in investing in clubs such as Liverpool, Manchester United and Celtic. Earlier this year, he teased purchasing two League of Ireland clubs amid a public spat with Drogheda United, who distanced themselves from McGregor when he posed with the FAI Cup at his Dublin pub. In what appears to be a response to the speculation surrounding McGregor's potential involvement, the Herd International Group have issued a statement revealing that they have turned down the opportunity to 'involve a high-profile individual whose values and public behaviour we believe do not align with the spirit of Hartlepool United Football Club.'
