The Princess Of Wales' Best Wimbledon Looks, As We Anticipate Her 2025 Appearances

Elle3 hours ago

The Princess of Wales never looks better (or more enthusiastic!) than during The Championships at Wimbledon. As patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club since 2016, Kate Middleton has made her love of tennis known by turning up at the annual event year after year and usually a few times throughout the fortnight.
She also saves her brightest, boldest colours for the tennis tournament, becoming a radiant presence in the Royal Box. British labels like Emilia Wickstead and Roksanda are amongst her favourites for the occasion, but so too is fashion-favourite Alessandra Rich. Her polka dot selections from the London-based Italian designer remain amongst the Princess' most well-lauded by fashion folk.
What is most energising about the Princess at Wimbledon though is her reactions. While most Royal occasions call for steely disposition, Wimbledon sees her throw caution to the wind and move from spectated to spectator. We see wide smiles, hands on face, and as many 'oohs' and 'aahs' as you can imagine as the rallies only lengthen, her wide-rim sunglasses struggling to hide any favouritism.
With the 2025 Championships beginning on 30 June, the world waits in anticipation to see the Princess traverse the steps into the Royal Box. Last year, following her cancer diagnosis and treatment, she was welcomed with a lengthy standing ovation. And the same sort of reaction could be anticipated for Wimbledon 2025, too.
Will the Princess of Wales be at Wimbledon 2025? Certainly. It'll only be in the case of something truly remarkable that'll stop the tennis fan from attending (giving birth to the future King Prince George and a global pandemic putting a spanner in the works previously) and with it the promise of a new trunk of noteworthy summer looks, too.
Until then, the Princess of Wales' best Wimbledon looks thus far.
The Princess of Wales was greeted with a round of applause when she arrived in the Royal Box at Centre Court wearing a purple Safiyaa dress.
She chose a green Roland Mouret dress to present Carlos Alcaraz with the winner's title.
She chose sunshine yellow by Roksanda, a dress she wore first during a trip to the Caribbean.
Her perfect blow dry was worn with a forest green Emilia Wickstead dress and white pumps.
Attending with her husband, Prince William, Catherine looked especially fashion forward in a blue polka dot Alessandra Rich dress styled with slingback stilettos and a Mulberry bag.
Catherine stepped onto Centre Court in baby blue Emilia Wickstead to give Novak Djokovic the winner's trophy.
In 2021, she chose a blush pink Beulah dress.
She chose a navy polka dot dress by Alessandra Rich for the final day of the 2022 Championships.
A citrus Self-Portrait skirt suit for the thirteenth day of the 2023 Championships.
She wore dark green Dolce & Gabbana dress with gold button detailing to watch the women's finals with her sister, Pippa Middleton, and sister-in-law, Meghan Markle.
The Duchess of Cambridge arrived with her sister-in-law, Meghan Markle, in tow and wore a printed tea dress and carried a Dolce & Gabbana bag.
Attending with her friends, Kate Middleton wore a brilliant white dress with a black cardigan.

Glastonbury fans declare the 'best thing to happen' as they 'work out' identity of secret performer

Glastonbury Festival fans and attendees believe they've figured the identity of one of the enigmatic 'TBA' (to be announced) slots that's due to take place at the event today (Friday, June 27). While many people have been trying to unravel the mystery surrounding the act known as Patchwork appearing on the Pyramid Stage on Saturday night (June 28), speculation has continued over the elusive 'TBA' act. Many eagle-eyed fans noticed a short gap on the Pyramid Stage on Friday, lasting just 35 minutes between 4.55pm and 5.30pm. Rumours circulated about the likes of Radiohead, Ed Sheeran, Lorde and Lewis Capaldi were all thrown into the mix. However it appears that to be all but confirmed that the TBA slot will be none other than the Glasgow-based singer, Lewis Capaldi. Posts appeared on social media earlier this week of two billboards, one in Somerset and one in Lewis' hometown of Glasgow, with mysterious lyrics and a phone number. READ MORE: Steps star shares reason why the hit pop group rejected iconic Glastonbury gig READ MORE: First-ever musical act broadcast at Glastonbury Festival recalls 'amazing experience' A post shared by @thearchbishopofbanterbury from a user called John read: 'Two mysterious billboards have popped up overnight, one at the site of Glastonbury festival and one in Glasgow.' The billboards read, 'I've had my share of Monday mornings when I can't get up,' and 'I refuse to spend my best year rotting in the sun'. To add more fuel to the fire, Lewis launched his return to the music scene, releasing a sneak peak of his new song 'Survive' at midnight on Friday. In an Instagram post, the singer wrote: 'It's been a while…' View this post on Instagram A post shared by The Archbishop of Banterbury(@thearchbishopofbanterbury) Fan account Secret Glasto appeared to validate the rumours, encouraging fans to watch Lewis' return. The account wrote: 'Already widely known, but Lewis Capaldi will be playing the TBA on he Pyramid stage between 1655–1730. He's had a tough few years so go give him some Glastonbury love.' Glastonbury fans shared some love for the singer, with Dave writing on X (formerly known as Twitter): 'Good to see lewis capaldi back, was in the crowd last time at glastonbury and could see how much he was struggling. Hope he smashes it today back there.' Coral agreed: 'The best thing that can happen today is for Lewis Capaldi to make a comeback on Glastonbury pyramid stage. The love he will feel will be another level, his new song today…' Lewis last appeared at Glastonbury in 2023, where he was seen struggling to continue singing due to the impact of his Tourette's. The crowd continued to sing his songs back to him. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Lewis Capaldi (@lewiscapaldi) Later on the singer addressed his performance, announcing a break from touring for the foreseeable future. In an Instagram post, he wrote: 'Hello everyone. First of all, thank you to Glastonbury for having me, for singing along when I needed it and for all the amazing messages afterwards. It really does mean the world. 'The fact that this probably won't come as a surprise doesn't make it any easier to write, but I'm very sorry to let you know I'm going to be taking a break from touring for the foreseeable future. 'I used to be able to enjoy every second of shows like this and I'd hoped 3 weeks away would sort me out. But the truth is I'm still learning to adjust to the impact of my Tourette's and on Saturday it became obvious that I need to spend much more time getting my mental and physical health in order, so I can keep doing everything I love for a long time to come. 'I know I'm incredibly fortunate to be able to take some time out when others can't and I'd like to thank my amazing family, friends, team, medical professionals and all of your who've been so supportive every step of the way through the good times and even more so during this past year when I've needed it more than ever. 'I'm so incredibly sorry to everyone who had planned to come to a shower before the end of the year but I need to feel well to perform at the standard you all deserve. Playing for you every night is all I've ever dreamed of so this has been the most difficult decision of my life. I'll be back as soon as I possibly can. 'All my love, always, Lewis.' Lorde has also appeared to self-confirm her appearance on the Woodsies stage at 11.30pm on Friday. She shared a snapshot of the iconic tent to her Instagram story followed by the message, '11.30am BST'. For information about how to watch Glastonbury from the comfort of your own home, read here. What's Next for Denis Villeneuve's BOND Movie? Amazon Eyes a Younger 007 with Elordi, Holland, and Dickinson in the Mix — GeekTyrant

James Bond is officially entering a new era, and it's shaping up to be a bold departure from the familiar. With Denis Villeneuve now confirmed to direct the 26th Bond film, Amazon is moving quickly, at least by Bond standards, to build the next phase of the iconic franchise. That said, don't expect to see 007 back on the big screen until 2028. According to sources close to production, anything sooner would be unrealistic given the scope of the film and Villeneuve's packed schedule. Villeneuve beat out some heavy hitters for the director's chair. Edward Berger, Edgar Wright, Paul King, and Jonathan Nolan were all reportedly in the mix. The director of Dune and Blade Runner 2049 has long expressed his desire to helm a Bond film, and Amazon finally gave him thegreen light. The studio is now focused on attaching a screenwriter and, of course, casting the new face of Bond. That face is going to be younger. Amazon and producers are reportedly seeking a British actor under 30, and the current shortlist includes Saltburn 's Jacob Elordi, Spider-Man 's Tom Holland, and Harris Dickinson from Babygirl . While Elordi is Australian, insiders say that's not a dealbreaker, after all, George Lazenby was too, and he once wore the tux in On Her Majesty's Secret Service . Long-rumored contenders like Aaron Taylor-Johnson (35), Henry Cavill (42), and Idris Elba (52) are seen as too old for what Amazon is aiming to build. Alfonso Cuarón was an early contender to direct, and was pushed strongly by producer David Heyman due to their collaboration on Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban . But Cuarón ultimately stepped away to prioritize other projects, including Jane , a Charlize Theron-led film also at Amazon. Amazon also made a serious attempt to land Christopher Nolan, even to the point of considering breaking one of the franchise's long-standing rules, denying directors final cut. That rule, enforced for decades by Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson, was one of the ways EON Productions maintained creative control. But the Broccoli family has now stepped back from day-to-day creative oversight and retains only a financial stake. Nolan, however, is unavailable for the foreseeable future as he's deep in pre-production on The Odyssey . As for Villeneuve, his Bond deal is a one-and-done. He's not signed on for any sequels and won't have final cut. Before he even starts rolling cameras on Bond, he's committed to filming Dune: Messiah , which is aiming for a December 2026 release. Amazon's next move is to lock in a writer, and while Jonathan Nolan was floated as a strong candidate, his Bond pitch was reportedly well-received, he's tied up with the series Fallout and unavailable. Still, there's no shortage of writing talent circling the property, and Amazon is determined to define a fresh identity for their version of Bond. Bond 26 may still be a few years away, but the new direction will involve a younger 007, a more cinematic director, and the first major reboot under a new studio. Source: Variety
