Haut-Mbomou: United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) focuses on employment and training to reduce communal violence
In Bambouti, Haut-Mbomou, MINUSCA launched the 8th phase of the Community Violence Reduction Program on May 27, 2025. Lasting three months, it will focus on Cash For Work and vocational training for the benefit of 160 participants, including 90 women. An opportunity for the youth of the locality to be able to take charge of themselves.
The training will include sewing, carpentry, masonry and sanitation actions. Some beneficiaries express their joy and emphasize that the money they will receive will help them start income-generating activities.
"I express my gratitude to MINUSCA, because the work I will do will help me to become financially independent. When I receive the money, I will start investing in Income-Generating Activities," said Suzanne Mbate, one of the beneficiaries.
Many participants in the professional training recognize the benefits of this initiative, both for the community and for themselves. Beneficiaries of past editions of the Programme are currently engaged in income-generating activities. These initiatives help to reduce acts of violence in the community.
The mayor of Bambouti, Anne-Marie Sioukarani, welcomes this program which will contribute to the development of the region: "This initiative will contribute effectively to the development of the locality. Because it is a good thing for the youth of Bambouti who, for several years, had nothing to do as an activity or training. The launch of the CVR 8 project will help young people to take charge of themselves."
It should be noted that the sanitation work will take place in particular at the town hall and the sub-prefecture.

Eritrea: Vocational Training for Students of the College of Business and Social Science
A three-month vocational training program has been provided to 305 students, including 94 female students of the Adi-Keih College of Business and Social Science. The training aimed to enhance the students' vocational skills alongside their regular academic education. The training covered video camera operation, video editing, graphic design, computer technology, and satellite dish installation. Dr. Estifanos Hailemariam, Dean of the College, stated that the program is part of a broader effort conducted in collaboration with the National Union of Eritrean Youth and Students to nurture competent and visionary youth. Ms. Tigisti Okbai, Secretary of the Union branch at the college, stated that similar vocational training programs have been conducted in the past and will continue in the future. Mr. Meron Abraham, Head of Projects at the National Union of Eritrean Youth and Students branch for Higher Education Institutions and Sawa, encouraged the trainees to apply their acquired skills to improve their livelihoods. According to reports, since 2023, vocational training has been provided to 930 students at the Adi-Keih College of Business and Social Science. Eritrea: Hagaz Agricultural and Technical School Graduates Students
Hagaz Agricultural and Technical School has graduated 131 students, including 54 female students, in certificate programs. The students received two years of both theoretical and practical training. The graduates include 32 in Agro-Mechanics, 34 in Animal Science, 31 in Plant Science, and 34 in Water and Soil Conservation and Irrigation Farming. Mr. Melake Berhane, Head of the School, stated that the main objective of the institution is to produce skilled human resources, improve agricultural productivity, combat desertification, ensure food security, create employment opportunities, solve potable water shortages in nearby villages, and meet public demands. He urged the graduates to apply their training to further agricultural development in the country. Mr. Tesfay Seium, Director General of Technical and Vocational Training at the Ministry of Education, encouraged the graduates to apply their knowledge practically and become exemplary in their workplace. A representative of the graduates expressed gratitude for the training and affirmed their readiness to contribute to agricultural development in the country. During the event, awards were presented to outstanding students. Hagaz Agricultural and Technical School, established in 1999, has so far graduated 3,346 students.
