Reported Details Behind Dakota Kai's WWE Release
Dakota Kai being released by WWE came as a big surprise to plenty of people.
Fans have speculated on the reason(s) behind her WWE exit, and now we have a bit more insight as to why it happened. F4WOnline.com's Dave Meltzer reported (via The Wrestling Observer Newsletter) that part of the reason Dakota Kai was released is due to her age. Kai is 37 years old, and that was noted as 'part of it.' Meltzer noted that Kai received almost unanimous praise inside WWE and her release was a surprise.

It was noted that Kai was viewed as someone WWE could use on a 'micro level' but was never going to be a top long-term draw like a Rhea Ripley or Charlotte Flair. Meltzer noted one source said Dakota could have worked with other top stars like Becky Lynch or Liv Morgan, but on a short-term level. In general, there was a belief that Kai was being paid too much to just have her lose to talent on their way up in the company.
One WWE source expects her to end up in AEW, as she spoke with the promotion after WWE cut her for the first time in 2022. Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select) also reported that there appears to be significant interest in Dakota Kai outside of WWE, as outside companies and agents expect her to have 'plenty of offers.'
Dakota Kai is believed to have a 90-day non-compete clause as a condition of her release. Others who have the 90-day stipulation include: Braun Strowman, Shayna Baszler, Katana Chance and Kayden Carter.

Dakota Kai highlights how much fans help a performer
Prior to being released by WWE, Dakota Kai spoke with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard at WrestleMania 41. Kai was asked if there were some moments from her wrestling career she'd like fans to focus on more. She called out some of her work with Rhea Ripley in NXT, noting that many of her favorite matches in that era were in front of an empty building.

'I haven't wrestled Rhea [Ripley] on the main roster yet. I did have a few matches with her in NXT. So maybe during that time, especially NXT in 2020, when it was like the 'COVID era.' There was a lot of good stuff that happened there,' Dakota Kai explained.
'There was a six-woman ladder match that happened in front of zero people. Do you know how much ladders hurt when no one's cheering for you? [laughs] It hurt a lot,' Dakota added. 'It's surprising how much cheering helps your adrenaline and not feeling pain. That was a match!'

Dwayne ‘The Rock' Johnson reveals frustrating gut-health issue that took him years to fix
Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson had a digestive issue that he couldn't kick — and no answers in sight. Johnson, one of WWE and Hollywood's biggest stars, opened up about his health journey during a recent conversation with the man who saw him through to the other side in Dr. Mark Hyman. The 53-year-old, after years of dealing with the gut issue, had a conversation with former agent and longtime business partner Ari Emanuel about it at the end of 2023. Advertisement 3 Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson speaks on his gut-health issues. The Mark Hyman Show/YouTube 'He's like, 'What's going on?' I said, 'I've seen doctors and I can't quite nail it. I can't quite fix it. It's in my digestion,' Johnson said during 'The Mark Hyman Show.' 'I feel great — and that's the odd thing — but I just can't crack it.'' Emanuel, the CEO of Endeavor and WWE's parent company, TKO, mentioned seeing Hyman, who practices functional medicine. Advertisement The two eventually connected for a virtual visit. Johnson admitted he knew nothing about functional medicine, which, according to the Institute for Functional Medicine, provides a framework to systematically identify and address the underlying processes and dysfunctions that are causing imbalance and disease in each individual. 'You said, very succinctly, 'I'm not going to treat your symptoms. I'm going to go deeper than that and treat the root cause of what's going on,'' Johnson said. 'And I said, 'I love that.'' Advertisement The treatment began in early 2024, with Johnson set to begin his 'Final Boss' run to WrestleMania 40 with WWE. Getting to what was holding Johnson back took some heavy digging, Hyman noted. They did blood panels and a stool test, among other things, to get to the source of the problem. Johnson was in for a grueling year with WWE commitments, the release of 'Red One' and 'Moana 2,' and filming for his upcoming movie 'The Smashing Machine.' 3 Dwayne Johnson attends the 'Moana 2' UK Premiere at Cineworld Leicester Square on November 24, 2024 in London, England. 'And I was thinking, 'Holy s–t, how am I going to get through this with my gut issues? I'm not digesting properly.'' Advertisement Luckily, Hyman was able to provide Johnson some relief, finding the issue began after he took multiple rounds of antibiotics, which messed with the bacteria in his gut. He was missing Akkermansia, which coats the lining of the intestine and protects from inflammation and a leaky gut, Hyman said. 3 Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and John Cena fight during Night 2 at Lincoln Financial Field on April 7, 2024 in Philadelphia. 'And we made you this amazing gut health shake with 10-plus ingredients personalized for you.' Johnson hasn't wrestled in WWE since, but was the catalyst for John Cena's heel turn earlier this year.

Rogan claims 2 former presidents called Spotify over his controversial COVID commentary
Podcaster Joe Rogan claimed Tuesday that two unnamed former presidents were involved in the protest against his skeptical discussions about COVID-19. Spotify received backlash in 2022 for allowing Rogan, one of its biggest stars, to spread what progressive critics claimed was COVID misinformation. Musician Neil Young famously removed his content from Spotify in protest over Rogan's rhetoric, saying he no longer wanted to share a platform with him. "And then all of a sudden, I hear that Neil Young wants me removed from Spotify. I was like, 'What the f--- is going on? This is crazy,'" Rogan said Tuesday. "Spotify got calls from two former presidents," he added. Rogan Slams Cnn For 'Force-feeding Me Morons' Instead Of Delivering News Then-Biden White House press secretary Jen Psaki commented on the controversy directly. After Spotify announced it would flag podcasts that cover COVID-19, Psaki responded, "So this disclaimer, it's a positive step, but we want every platform to continue doing more to call out misinformation while also uplifting accurate information." Read On The Fox News App "Our hope is that all major tech platforms — and all major news sources for that matter — be responsible and be vigilant to ensure the American people have access to accurate information on something as significant as COVID-19," she added. But Rogan said that instead of being censored or deplatformed, "I grew by 2 million subscribers in a month." "People started listening," he said, despite how his critics attacked his reputation. "And they started listening, like, 'Oh, he's really reasonable and pretty humble about all this stuff and just asking questions.'" Rogan also condemned how media outlets attacked his use of Ivermectin to treat his COVID-19 by referring to it as a horse dewormer. "I'm, like, 'Why aren't you guys concentrating on the fact that a 55-year-old man is fine three days later during the worst strain?' It was during the Delta where everybody's freaking out. 'This one's going to kill us all.' And I was fine in three days," he said. Rogan described the whole experience as a "wake-up call" that opened his eyes about the liberal legacy media. "It's so dirty. It's such a dirty business," Rogan said. "God, I used to have massive respect for journalists. If I had never done this podcast, I would be your regular schmo out there with, you know, just spitting out all the company lines and all the blast all over the news." "I kind of liked it better then," he said with a laugh. "I didn't think the world is filled with demons, money-hungry demons that are willing to sacrifice human lives in the pursuit of revenue." Click Here For More Coverage Of Media And Culture Spotify founder and CEO Daniel Ek addressed the pushback against hosting Rogan during the company's earnings call in February 2022. "I think the important part here is that we don't change our policies based on one creator, nor do we change it based on any media cycle," the chief executive said at the time. "Our policies have been carefully written with the input from numbers of internal and external experts in this space – and I do believe they're right for our platform." 'WWE Raw' Ends in Shocking Fashion With New Champion
'WWE Raw' Ends in Shocking Fashion With New Champion originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Gunther is now a two-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion. One night after he competed in a tag team main event at "Money in the Bank 2025," Jey Uso put the top male prize on the red brand on the line against "The Ring General." Uso didn't enter the match at 100 percent health, as he had been attacked by Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed in recent weeks. Advertisement It was clear that the attacks had a negative impact on Uso during "WWE Raw." Ultimately, "The Ring General" choked Uso out to enter his second reign with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. It was a surprising finish for those who thought Rollins would successfully cash in his MITB briefcase. Such a move would've marked Rollins' second reign with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. He also would've been a six-time WWE world champion, but it wasn't meant to be on this night. Uso thought he had the match won when he hit a spear on Gunther, followed by the Uso Splash. The challenger ended up kicking out. Advertisement Uso's injured ribs was a major talking point on commentary. The aforementioned attacks from Rollins, Breakker, and Reed were to blame for Uso's injury. Reed's Tsunami splashes during last week's episode of "Raw" proved to have done the most damage. Many are now left to wonder what WWE's plans are for "Raw's" world title just two months prior to "SummerSlam." Some were under the impression that Uso would hold onto the title at least until WWE's August PLE, but the reign didn't reach a full two months.
