BGT winner Sydnie Christmas says semi-finalist has 'caught my heart'
Britain's Got Talent winner Sydnie Christmas has opened up about this year's competition.
Britain's Got Talent sensation Sydnie Christmas has opened up about a young musician who has tugged at her heartstrings in this year's contest.
The 29-year-old songstress, who clinched the BGT title in 2024, graced ITV's Loose Women with her presence to chat about her career and last year's triumphant win on the talent show.
Discussing the current crop of contestants, Sydnie singled out one act that particularly resonated with her.
Speaking to the Loose Women hosts, she revealed: "There's a young little boy that has caught my heart who plays a guitar and he plays that guitar like that guitar was his life and that's exactly how I feel singing."
She continued, praising the youngster: "Olly, he's caught me, he's got star quality." Before confessing: "That little boy caught my heart."
Olly, an 11-year-old from Wrexham, has been riding a wave of success since his Britain's Got Talent live semi-final performance last week, which snagged him a second golden buzzer, reports Belfast Live.
Now in the running for a spot at the Royal Variety show and a hefty £250,000 prize, Olly spoke with The Leader about his astonishment at the golden buzzer victory, saying: "I still can't believe it."
He humbly added: "Every act in my semi final was brilliant so for Simon to pick me for his Golden Buzzer was amazing."
Olly also shared his performance strategy, saying: "I practiced three things: the audience at home by looking into the camera, the judges and finally the crowd in the theatre.
"The crowd's energy was electric, and I could hear their cheers and singing even with my earpieces in - it was incredible! I love performing for audiences that join in and sing along.
"All my friends say they loved me pulling my tongue out at the camera! Think the judges liked my performance too!"
The rising star also shared that he longed to make his family proud after sailing his way into the final.
He added: "As a family we have always watched BGT and now to be part of it is just amazing. I still can't believe it. Getting to the final is the best feeling and I want to make everyone proud."

The correct answer was O, as it was explained: "Many people think it's E as it's the most commonly used letter in the alphabet. The 1% Club knocks out 25 players on 'easy' picture question - can you get it? "But it is in fact O which appears four times in the sentence." Since debuting three years ago, the game show is well-known for its tricky puzzles. A previous episode saw a whopping 30 people wiped out on a smiley face brainteaser. The question posed: "Have a look at this picture. Are there more happy faces or sad faces?" Shown on screen were 18 emoji-style faces arranged in three rows of six. Once the time limit was up, Lee revealed 30 people had answered incorrectly and were therefore out. On another occasion, 18 people went out on a tricky alphabet question. Players were shown four words and asked to spot the one that did not contain three consecutive letters from the alphabet. The options were, Unopenable, Understandable, Unquestionable, and Undefineable. Emmerdale star ‘struggled' filming soap's ‘weird' intimate moments as she breaks silence on sexy scenes
EMMERDALE star Roxy Shahidi has admitted she struggled filming intimate scenes on the soap. The actress - who played Leyla Harding in the ITV soap - has broken her silence on how she felt filming sexy scenes. 3 3 3 Speaking to former co-star Matthew Wolfenden, Roxy opened up about how she felt having to kiss her co-stars - and it's safe to say she's not a fan. Matthew said: "They decided to try to put David and Leyla back together — do you remember? — and we had to do a kissy scene. It was the weirdest thing, wasn't it? "Because it's alright when you're doing those scenes with... (people you don't know so well)." She said on their podcast The Celebrity Side Hustle Roxy said: "I really struggle with them, because I am someone, and I know it sounds daft as an actor because people listening will be saying, 'It's your job.' 'It is, and you do get on with it, but for me personally, I'm so weird about personal space. "I've just never felt comfortable with it." She added: "It's always made me anxious. "I always get a bit awkward, but the best way I found to deal with it is to almost choreograph it like a dance." The actress left the show in 2024, and bowed out after her character, Leyla was killed in the tragic limo crash. A source close to the telly star said at the time: "Roxy has adored her time on the soap and has made so many happy memories since first joining when she was 17. I was stunned when I found out my Emmerdale character Leyla Harding was going to die in limo crash… it was very tough, admits star Roxy Shahidi "The cast have become like family to her and she has grown so much as an actress, but now feels like the perfect time to spread her wings and try something new. "She is really excited about her meaty exit storyline, which will see her character Leyla die on screen. 'She'd rather go out in a blaze of glory and be remembered."
