Former Liverpool star already filled with REGRET after leaving

Leaving a club like Liverpool is one of the boldest calls a player can make. Regardless of what state the team happens to be in, you know that the Reds are England's most successful team.
Of course, a player might want to go somewhere else for a number of different reasons, with the most common being that they aren't getting enough playing time, which is perfectly reasonable.

Some others may have reached the point in their career where they aren't quite cutting at the level that the club expects from them, so a move where the intensity isn't quite as high makes more sense.
But you will occasionally find a couple of players that look at the few clubs that sit alongside the Reds as Europe's elite and feel like they need to prove they can succeed at a 'higher' level.
Trent Alexander-Arnold went down this route this summer, and so far it hasn't worked out well.

Of course, we must caveat this article with context that the season hasn't properly started yet, the English right-back has only played pre-season and Club World Cup matches for Los Blancos so far.
But even though he's spent such a limited amount of time at Real Madrid, the Spanish media have already started to come for him, making bold claims about his ability before assessing him properly.
Spanish journalist Guille Uzquiano spoke to the media organisation El Partidazo de COPE on Tuesday night and gave his thoughts on Trent's time in Spain so far, and it was a pretty brutal assessment.
He said: "He still seems shy. The best Carvajal is better than the best Arnold"
Straight away, the caveat should be that Daniel Carvajal is 33 years old, while Trent is 26, so the comparison doesn't really feel fair, but if we're talking about their abilities right now, then a whole new context is applied, since the Spaniard is recovering from an ACL injury picked up last year.
Trent's been in the camp for just two months and while the two right-backs will be looking to compete with each other throughout the season, to have already reached a conclusion about which is better, before a ball has been kicked in the 2025/26 La Liga campaign, feels very presumptuous.
Liverpool fans had attempted to warn Trent about what might happen but the full-back was smitten and any attempt to convince him to remain on Merseyside was never going to change his mind.
Once he was revealed as a new Galactico, he read out his speech in fluent Spanish, which suggested that his mind was only on one thing, despite him claiming he was committed to Liverpool.
As such, this has all been brought on him by himself and why Liverpool fans might have sympathy for him, then player made his choice and knew exactly what kind of environment he was joining.
Despite how displeasing his exit was, we wish him all the best. And given the scrutiny that he's under already, it appears as though he'll need all the positivity he can get if he is to succeed at Madrid.
