Former Liverpool star already filled with REGRET after leaving
Of course, a player might want to go somewhere else for a number of different reasons, with the most common being that they aren't getting enough playing time, which is perfectly reasonable.

Some others may have reached the point in their career where they aren't quite cutting at the level that the club expects from them, so a move where the intensity isn't quite as high makes more sense.
But you will occasionally find a couple of players that look at the few clubs that sit alongside the Reds as Europe's elite and feel like they need to prove they can succeed at a 'higher' level.
Trent Alexander-Arnold went down this route this summer, and so far it hasn't worked out well.
Trent regretting his Madrid move already?
Of course, we must caveat this article with context that the season hasn't properly started yet, the English right-back has only played pre-season and Club World Cup matches for Los Blancos so far.
But even though he's spent such a limited amount of time at Real Madrid, the Spanish media have already started to come for him, making bold claims about his ability before assessing him properly.
Spanish journalist Guille Uzquiano spoke to the media organisation El Partidazo de COPE on Tuesday night and gave his thoughts on Trent's time in Spain so far, and it was a pretty brutal assessment.
He said: "He still seems shy. The best Carvajal is better than the best Arnold"
Straight away, the caveat should be that Daniel Carvajal is 33 years old, while Trent is 26, so the comparison doesn't really feel fair, but if we're talking about their abilities right now, then a whole new context is applied, since the Spaniard is recovering from an ACL injury picked up last year.
Trent's been in the camp for just two months and while the two right-backs will be looking to compete with each other throughout the season, to have already reached a conclusion about which is better, before a ball has been kicked in the 2025/26 La Liga campaign, feels very presumptuous.
Liverpool fans had attempted to warn Trent about what might happen but the full-back was smitten and any attempt to convince him to remain on Merseyside was never going to change his mind.
Once he was revealed as a new Galactico, he read out his speech in fluent Spanish, which suggested that his mind was only on one thing, despite him claiming he was committed to Liverpool.
As such, this has all been brought on him by himself and why Liverpool fans might have sympathy for him, then player made his choice and knew exactly what kind of environment he was joining.
Despite how displeasing his exit was, we wish him all the best. And given the scrutiny that he's under already, it appears as though he'll need all the positivity he can get if he is to succeed at Madrid.

Ten Hag says he can't work Harry Potter-style magic to hasten Leverkusen rebuild
LEVERKUSEN, Germany (AP) — Erik ten Hag has warned he can't work Harry Potter-style magic to forge a new-look Bayer Leverkusen into a true team as the ex-Manchester United manager prepares for his first game in charge. Ten Hag's first job since leaving United sees the Dutch coach faced with a major rebuild at Leverkusen following the departure of his title-winning predecessor Xabi Alonso and key players including Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong and Granit Xhaka. 'I know how to manage processes and you can't force the process. It's impossible. No one is like Harry Potter," Ten Hag said on Thursday ahead of his first game on Friday in the German Cup against fourth-tier Sonnenhof Grossaspach. "Harry, he can really (quickly) construct a team, and in the same time it's successful, but that is not how top football works.' Ten Hag used the Harry Potter line in his time at United, too. Following a loss to Liverpool in September 2024, he said he was no Harry Potter while explaining the difficulties of relying on players who hadn't had much game time. Less than two months later, Ten Hag was fired by United after four losses in nine Premier League games. Ten Hag said he and the Leverkusen players will have to work hard together through the first half of the season and into the spring to be able to fight for trophies at the end of the campaign. 'For me, the start of the season is the middle of March, April 1, then you have to be in a position that you can win something,' he said. 'Until that time, we all have to work unbelievably hard to get into that position, to develop and progress the game model and to develop the team and the individual players.' New signings ahead of Friday's game include American attacking midfielder Malik Tillman, who Ten Hag said wasn't fit to play, ex-Liverpool defender Jarell Quansah and former Brentford goalkeeper Mark Flekken. Leverkusen confirmed midfielder Robert Andrich was the captain after goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky left for Monaco. ___ AP soccer: The Associated Press

Inter Milan Still Monitoring Parma Breakout Star – But Face Price Tag & Liverpool Obstacles
Inter Milan are still monitoring Parma defender Giovanni Leoni, but face major obstacles from the price tag and the competition of Liverpool. This according to today's print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. Inter Milan have been eyeing up Parma defender Giovanni Leoni for some time. The Nerazzurri had already tried to sign the teenager from Sampdoria last summer. However, Parma beat them to his signature. And after a season in Serie A with Parma, Leoni has convinced Inter all the more. Inter Still Monitoring Giovanni Leoni – But Face Liverpool Obstacle UDINE, ITALY – MARCH 01: Giovanni Leoni of Parma reacts at the end of the Serie A match between Udinese and Parma at Stadio Friuli on March 01, 2025 in Udine, Italy. (Photo by) Parma have given Inter an asking price of around €40 million for Leoni. That has proven tricky for the Nerazzurri. Particularly considering that they have already invested significantly this summer, and are still pursuing a deal for Atalanta's Ademola Lookman. Meanwhile, Liverpool have also been working to try and sign Leoni. And the Premier League champions would certainly be formidable competition for Inter. Particularly on a financial level, where they have not encountered any problems. Therefore, Inter are still looking at Leoni. But they are well aware that they face an uphill battle to try and sign the 19-year-old.

Liverpool Could Join Newcastle United In Race To Land This Brentford Forward: Decent Fit For Slot?
In a recent report, journalist Pete O'Rourke stated that Liverpool could join Newcastle United in the race to land Brentford forward Yoane Wissa this summer. It has been claimed that the Reds are eyeing a surprise move to land the Congolese striker in this transfer window. Wissa's Impressive Form In The Premier League Wissa enjoyed a good run of form at the English club in the previous campaign when he banged in a lot of important goals for them in the Premier League. The Congolese talent played in 39 matches for the Bees last season, finding the back of the net 20 times and earning five assists in multiple competitions. The 28-year-old deserves a ton of credit for averaging 2.77 shots per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He kept 45.6% of his shots on target. Wissa was even tidy when distributing the ball in the final third based on his pass completion rate of 76.5% in the English top tier (stats via His current contract at Brentford will expire next summer, which could open the door for the Reds to sign him on the cheap in this transfer period. NOTTINGHAM, ENGLAND – MAY 01: Yoane Wissa of Brentford celebrates scoring his team's second goal during the Premier League match between Nottingham Forest FC and Brentford FC at City Ground on May 01, 2025 in Nottingham, England. (Photo by) Will Wissa Be A Decent Fit For Liverpool Boss Arne Slot? Wissa can find a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has proven himself to be a capable finisher in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet. The Congolese attacker can even create the odd chance for others around him in the opponent's half. Wissa already knows the Premier League well and is well-equipped to make an immediate impact at the Merseyside club. He is primarily a centre-forward but can also fill in as a wide player on either flank if needed. Wissa would bring more firepower to Liverpool head coach Arne Slot's attack. He has what it takes to compete with Hugo Ekitike for a regular first-team spot at the Merseyside club this season. At 28, Wissa is playing in his prime, which makes him a great fit for Liverpool's needs this summer. Thus, Slot should focus on getting a deal done for the Congolese talent before the end of this summer transfer window.
