Former referee David Coote charged by FA over Klopp comments
Former Premier League referee David Coote has been charged by the FA relating to comments he made on a social media clip last year.
He has already been sacked by the PGMOL since November of last year after what they described as a "thorough investigation".
They said: "David Coote's actions were found to be in serious breach of the provisions of his employment contract.
"Supporting David Coote continues to be important to us and we remain committed to his welfare."
He was subsequently banned by UEFA in February.
This comes after footage emerged of Coote sniffing a white powder while at Euro 2024.
As well as this, he was also accused of predetermining a yellow card with a fan at a Championship match in 2019, a claim which he was cleared of.
Coote was charged under rule E3.1, which purports that he acted in an improper manner and/or used abusive and/or insulting words.
The use of Klopp's nationality in the video constituted an "aggravated" breach according to the FA.
Coote came out as gay this January and said that he hid his sexuality within the game due to fears of abuse.

Daniel McDonnell: Graduation from pundit to Premier League boss would be a remarkable twist in Keith Andrews' tale
Former Ireland international leads chase to replace Thomas Frank in the Brentford hot seat And just like that, it appears Keith Andrews is about to become a Premier League manager. Brendan Rodgers and Kieran McKenna have represented the island of Ireland in recent years, but if Brentford follow through on plans to appoint Andrews, he will be the first Dublin-born permanent managerial hire in the English top flight since the late Joe Kinnear's chaotic 2008/'09 stint at Newcastle.

Daniel Levy on 'right decision' to sack Ange Postecoglou
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy insisted he had no regrets about appointing Ange Postecoglou but believes sacking the Australian was the correct decision, despite him winning the club's first trophy in 17 years. Levy, flanked by new chief executive Vinai Venkatesham in an interview posted on the club's YouTube channel, said he did not make the "emotionally difficult" decision to fire Postecoglou on his own. Ultimately losing 22 Premier League matches and finishing 17th cost Postecoglou his job after two years at the club. "I don't regret appointing Ange," said Levy. "In his first season we finished fifth and in the second season we were over the moon to win a trophy but we need to compete in all competitions. We felt that we needed a change. "It was a collective decision. It wasn't my decision. We do everything together. "Emotionally it was difficult but we believe we have made the right decision for the club." Tottenham have appointed Brentford boss Thomas Frank as Postecoglou's successor and Levy hopes a new man with new ideas will help get the club back on track. "Whenever you have a new coach, it is always a fresh start. You have different ideas," he added. "We want to build on the success of winning a trophy last season. "One of the things that stood out to me with Thomas — clearly highly intelligent, great communicator, super human being, plus all of the other technical aspects that are important."
