IFP Qatar, the country's leading trade events' organizer, revealed details of the 21st edition of Project Qatar, the biggest and most prominent trade exhibition for building materials, equipment, and technologies in Qatar, set to take place under the patronage of the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, with the support of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and in partnership with the Public Works Authority (Ashghal). The event will be held under the theme 'Innovation & Sustainability: Qatar's Path to 2030 from 26 - 29 May 2025 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC). The details were revealed in a press conference
hosted by the organizing company and attended by several representatives of the event's sponsors from both the public and private sectors.
According to the organizers, the event is expected to attract more than 200 local and international companies, featuring prominent governmental and semi-governmental entities, as well as leading private sector companies that play a pivotal role in supporting Qatar's development and infrastructure projects. Thani, the Years of Culture initiative reflects Qatar's strategic vision to foster intercultural dialogue, promote peace, and deepen mutual understanding through cultural collaboration. This year's partnerships create exciting opportunities for cooperation, not only in culture but also across the economy, trade, and investment. These initiatives will further strengthen ties between Qatar and Argentina, fostering deeper connections between our nations and people.
The event will also host high-level delegations including more than 50 businessmen from the Moscow Export Center, headed by its CEO, and the China Electronics Chamber of Commerce (CECC), led by its chairman. In total, over 80 international companies from across the globe are expected to participate in the event, which reinforces the adoption of innovation and sustainability principles within the construction and industrial sectors.
On the local front, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry leads the list of this year's sponsors and partners. As one of the largest government entities contributing to the realization of Qatar National Vision 2030 through its infrastructure, road, and public buildings projects, the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) is participating in the exhibition as a Strategic Partner for the tenth consecutive year.
Mr. Abdulla Saad Al-Saad, Manager of Public Relations and Communications Department at Ashghal: 'The Public Works Authority is taking part in Project Qatar with a dedicated pavilion showcasing its comprehensive range of completed, ongoing, and upcoming projects, aiming to engage key stakeholders and foster collaboration in project execution. We hope this year's edition will serve as a platform to connect with a wider network of consultants, contractors, and suppliers who may collaborate with the Authority in the future."
Ashghal recently unveiled the key features of its five-year strategic plan. H.E. Eng. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Meer, President of the Public Works Authority, announced that the Authority intends to implement projects worth QAR 81 billion aimed at enhancing the country's infrastructure and keeping pace with Qatar's rapid urban expansion. These projects include land developments for citizens, government buildings that serve vital sectors, sewage
networks, and drainage systems, all aligned with sustainability and urban development standards.
As for the private sector, this year's Gold Sponsor, Aamal, is participating with the largest pavilion at the exhibition. Commenting on the company's participation, Mr. Rashid Al Mansoori, CEO of Aamal Company Q.P.S.C., said: 'We are pleased to take part in this edition of Project Qatar alongside leading local and international industry players. GETP Group, one of Qatar's leading multi-sectors holding companies, is participating in Project Qatar as a sponsor for the first time. complexes, hospitals, healthcare centers, factories, tourist sites, and educational institutions.
Running concurrently with Project Qatar is the Qatar Smart Manufacturing Exhibition, the country's first trade show dedicated entirely to smart manufacturing, industrial automation, and digital transformation in production environments. Aligned with Qatar's growing focus on Industry 4.0, the exhibition directly supports the Qatar National Manufacturing Strategy 2024–2030, which aims to localize manufacturing, enhance self-sufficiency, and attract international industrial partnerships. Exhibitors will showcase innovations in automation, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), smart supply chains and logistics, and sustainable production systems.
Additionally, a four-day accompanying conference will address critical topics related to construction, industry, sustainability, and environment, with each day dedicated to a specific theme. Day one will focus on smart and green building solutions, renewable energy, and AI applications in construction. It will also feature a special session in collaboration with QTerminals titled 'The Intersection of Technology and Excellence in the Supply Chain.' Commenting on this, Mr. Jaber Alhajeri. QIB successfully issues sukuk worth $750 mn

Tribune News Network Doha Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB), rated A1 by Moody's and A by Fitch, successfully issued a $750 million sukuk with a profit rate of 4.803 percent and tenor of 5 years on June 3. The profit rate was equivalent to a credit spread of 80 basis points over the US Treasury Rate, which was well inside QIB's fair value and lower than secondary market spreads of all Qatari banks, reflecting the positive perception of international investors around QIB's credit quality. Moreover, QIB's profit rate was the lowest achieved by a GCC bank for a senior unsecured 5 year issuance in 2025. QIB announced its intention to issue a Sukuk on Monday morning and conducted calls throughout the day with European, Asian and Middle Eastern accounts. Initial investor feedback was encouraging and allowed QIB to open the order book on Tuesday morning. The order book quickly grew to peak at $1.7 billion, representing an oversubscription rate of 2.3 times, one of the highest levels of demand seen for Sukuk issuances. The robust order book enabled QIB to confidently tighten the pricing by 35-40 basis points from Initial Price Thoughts in one iteration to 80 basis points over the US Treasury Rate. Investor diversity was broad and comprised of banks, private banks, fund managers and agencies from all over the world. Acting as joint lead managers and book runners were Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Bank ABC, Dubai Islamic Bank, Dukhan Bank, Emirates NBD Capital, HSBC, KFH Capital, Mashreq, QNB Capital, QInvest, SMBC, Standard Chartered Bank and The Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector. Commenting on the issuance, QIB Group Chief Executive Officer Bassel Gamal said, 'QIB is proud of another successful transaction in the international capital markets, where it has built a reputable name and large investor base from around the globe. The strong demand for our Sukuk underscores the faith investors have in robust economic position of the State of Qatar's and strong financialfundamentals of QIB.'
