This winter, families across South Africa can look forward to a highly anticipated theatrical experience as the beloved characters from the hit animated series prepare to take the stage. Bluey's Big Play The Stage Show is set to make its African debut at the renowned Artscape in Cape Town from Thursday, 26 June until Sunday, 06 July 2025, before moving to The Teatro at Montecasino in Johannesburg from Wednesday, 09 July to Sunday, 20 July 2025.
Excitement is building for fans eager to witness how these endearing characters come to life on stage. The show, based on an original story by Bluey creator Joe Brumm, promises to deliver a delightful blend of music, laughter, and family-friendly fun, bringing a new dimension to the acclaimed television series.

Zizi, a confident girl supported by loving parents, faces uncertainty when she starts primary school and notices few people look like her. With her parents' help, she finds strength in her identity. Zizi's World is aimed at children aged 4 to 12 and addresses the everyday experiences of children with albinism while encouraging empathy and respect among all readers. The story tackles misconceptions about albinism, especially in African communities, and reflects authentic South African settings and culture. The book promotes themes of kindness, respect, unity, and standing up for others, aligning with goals for raising emotionally intelligent and compassionate children in diverse classrooms. Refilwe Modiselle is an award-winning actress, TV and radio host, model, inspirational speaker, and team-building coach. She is recognised as South Africa's first successful working model with albinism and has a social media following of over 825,000. Modiselle uses her platform to challenge stereotypes and advocate for people with albinism. Zizi's World: Through Her Vanilla Eyes is her first children's book, inspired by her own journey to celebrate diversity, identity, belonging, and inclusivity.

Today, they bask in the African sunshine, roaming freely in a sprawling 2.5-acre enclosure at the Animal Defenders International (ADI) Wildlife Sanctuary, located in South Africa. Their remarkable journey began with a generous airlift funded by Qatar Airways Cargo as part of their WeQare programme, which emphasises the importance of animal welfare. Accompanied by ADI President Jan Creamer, Goliath and Coralie have traded their truck-bound cage for the vast, open plains that echo the lands of their ancestors. 'When you see these two magnificent lions living so close to what nature intended, it shows how wrong it is to keep them in circus cages, just for entertainment,' Creamer stated. This initiative has resulted in more than 50 countries, including seven US states, implementing bans on the exploitation of wild animals for entertainment purposes. The ADI Wildlife Sanctuary is dedicated to enforcing these protective bans. Based in London, ADI has proactively engaged in numerous rescue operations across Latin America, helping to liberate wild animals from circuses in Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, and Guatemala. These efforts have included impressive airlifts that have seen 33, 25, and 17 lions, along with 40 monkeys rescued at a time. Due to the extended abuse, confinement, and in-breeding that Goliath and Coralie have endured, returning them to the wild is not a viable option. The ADI Wildlife Sanctuary stands as a crucial refuge for animals like them, ensuring they live out their days in a safe and natural environment.
