Brad Pitt reveals his pre-Gwyneth Paltrow diet that would have left the Goop guru disgusted

Daily Mail4 hours ago

Brad Pitt has revealed his pre-Gwyneth Paltrow diet that would have revolted his wellness advocate ex.
Pitt, 61, dated the future Goop CEO, 52, for three years after meeting on the set of the 1995 thriller Se7en, but just before landing the role, survived off a rather unusual eating plan that definitely would not have flown with Paltrow.
Speaking on Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast, Pitt described this period as 'the most unhealthy time'.
At the time, Pitt was feeling adrift in his career following several disappointing jobs, and spent the summer of 1994 dating a woman with a passion for reptiles and consuming a 'bong load,' 'four Coca-Colas on ice' and no actual food.
'I would wake up... I would get a bong load, I would have four Coca-Colas on ice. No food,' Pitt told Dax.
'This particular summer, and I watched the O.J. trial... and trying to figure out, "What do I do next? What do I do next?"' he said.
That all changed once the script for the David Fincher film Se7en came across his desk.
'And then I read this script, my dear friend and manager and, basically my sister now, Cynthia, sends it over,' he explained. 'She says, "You've got to read this." I read the first seven pages, I call her up, I go, "Are you kidding me? Like, the cliché old cop wants out, the young cop comes in, he's looking at his trophies? His high school football trophies?" She goes, "Just finish it." And then I go meet Finch... he was just talking about films like I'd never heard anyone speak about film,' he said.
'I just got the jones back,' Brad added. 'Finding that thing kind of, it just reinvigorated what I wanted out of this thing, what's possible.'
The role not only brought the zest back into Brad's career, but it also introduced him to his then-girlfriend Gwyneth - who certainly would not have approved of his summer diet.
Since their split, Gwyneth has founded the wellness and lifestyle brand Goop, where consumers can shop for supplements and find green juice recipes.
She also has made headlines for her own diet - which in recent years involved drinking coffee for breakfast, bone broth for lunch and vegetables for dinner.
Until recently, Gwyneth was a strict adherent of the Paleo diet, an eating regimen which advocates for eating meat, vegetables, nuts and limited fruit, as well as excluding grains, legumes, dairy, salt, and refined sugar.
Thought recently the Shakespeare In Love actress has changed her tune on that particular diet, admitting that she is now 'a little bit sick of it'.
'I'm getting back into eating sourdough bread, cheese – there I said it. A little pasta after being strict with it for so long,' she said on her Goop podcast.
Gwyneth and Brad dated for three years after they met on the set of the thriller Se7en.
They got engaged in December 1996 when Gwyneth was just 24 years old and parted ways a few months later.
Looking back on the relationship, Gwyneth previously admitted she felt it didn't work out because she was too young.
Speaking on The Howard Stern Show in 2015, she said: 'I think I was a kid and I wasn't ready. He was too good for me.'
'I honestly do think I was too young and didn't know what I was doing.'
Brad would go on to marry and split from both Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie, while Gwyneth tied the knot and welcomed two children with Coldplay singer Chris Martin.
They infamously revealed their 'conscious uncoupling' in 2014 before officially divorcing. Gwyneth is now married to producer Brad Falchuk.
Despite their split, Gwyneth and Brad have kept in touch over the years.
The former flames reunited in June 2022 when Gwyneth interviewed Brad for her website about his involvement in one of her Goop products.
The pair expressed how happy they were to be friends with Brad telling her: 'I do love you,' to which she replied: 'I love you so much'.

'Tone deaf' Beyonce CANCELED by her own fans after wearing offensive shirt on Cowboy Carter tour

Beyonce is currently facing fierce backlash from her progressive fanbase after wearing an 'offensive' T-shirt. The diva, 43, sparked outrage at the Paris stop of her Cowboy Carter tour after donning a T-shirt emblazoned with the Buffalo Soldiers, who were some of the first African Americans to serve in the US military. While on its surface the shirt seems like a celebration of an often overlooked part of America's history, there's more to Bey's T-shirt than meets the eye. In the 1800s, the Buffalo Soldiers fought on the side of European colonizers against the Native Americans in the Indian Wars. Fans pointed out that not only did Beyonce wear a shirt with the Buffalo Soldiers on the front of it, the back of the shirt also featured controversial text about the Native Americans that they went up against. According to ONTD, one verse on the garment reads, 'Their antagonists were the enemies of peace, order and settlement: warring Indians, bandits, cattle thieves, murderous gunmen, bootleggers, trespassers, and Mexican revolutionaries.' A number of Beyonce's loyal fans were outraged by the text and took to social media and Reddit to express their outrage. 'Not everything in Black history needs to be revered and turned into an aesthetic,' wrote one. 'The Buffalo Soldiers did awful things to indigenous people. The way she waves away their atrocities against indigenous people is gross. Beyoncé's romanticism of this is beyond the pale.' Another wrote, 'Beyoncé wearing a Buffalo Soldiers shirt, an American army unit comprised exclusively of African Americans that helped European and white American colonists fight back Native Americans and seize control of their land, is not the serve she thinks it is.' They added, 'That Cowboy Carter album got her feeling all kinds of patriotic in all the wrong ways.' A third commented, 'I'm glad I'm seeing so many posts against Beyoncé peddling this Buffalo Soldier nonsense because I love her music but she's not beyond being rightfully criticized especially for selling merch calling Native Americans enemies of peace, like how dare you.' Another wrote, 'Saying that Indigenous and Mexican people defending their land from Americans looking to take it makes them "enemies of peace" is f***ing insane... I think this is terrible.' One commented, 'I love her but I really wish that there was much more thought put into this before giving it the green light.' A number of Beyonce's loyal fans were outraged by the text and took to social media and Reddit to express their outrage Another fan complained about Beyonce's 'silence' on political issues. 'We have no idea what her intentions are with this shirt or even this whole album and tour,' they wrote. 'Beyoncé hasn't come out unequivocally against/for anything. Her silence protects her but also invalidates her.' Another commented, 'That shirt... ma'am someone in your team should've done a triple check. That's tone deaf as hell.' Initially the name Buffalo Soldiers was used for the men of the 10th Cavalry Regiment, which was formed by Congress in 1866, though was later expanded to include the 9th Cavalry and 24th and 25th Infantry regiments which were created at the same time. Their nickname was given to them by the Native American tribes they fought against during the Indian Wars, and supposedly came about because of a private by the name of John Randall who was attacked by dozens of Cheyenne warriors while escorting a hunting party. Despite being shot in the shoulder and lanced 11 times, he held the Cheyenne off using only his pistol until help arrived. Afterward, the warriors described a man 'who had fought like a cornered buffalo; who like a buffalo had suffered wound after wound, yet had not died; and who like a buffalo had a thick and shaggy mane of hair.'

Julie Chrisley was ‘busting out crying' when she learned Trump had pardoned her: ‘God touched President Trump's heart'

Julie Chrisley recalled 'busting out crying' after learning she and her husband, Todd, would be receiving pardons from President Donald Trump. In a segment from Fox News' My View with Lara Trump, the Chrisley Knows Best stars shared their reactions to learning they wouldn't have to complete their 2022 sentences for tax evasion and bank fraud. The full episode is set to air this Saturday (June 28). 'I called Savannah one more time, and she said, 'He did it, he signed it,'' she said, referring to their 27-year-old daughter. 'And I just started busting out crying. And everyone was looking around, and then I just hung up. I was so nervous, I just hung up.' The reality stars and their children, Savannah and Grayson, gave their first interview post-pardoning with Lara Trump, who is also President Trump's daughter-in-law. Todd said a fellow inmate was who told him the news, which he initially didn't believe until a corrections officer confirmed what he heard. "He came by, and he goes, 'Are you good?' And I said, 'As good as I can be.' And he said, 'Todd, you just got pardoned. They sent me down here to make sure you're OK.' And I said, 'Well, they don't need to be worrying about me now. Hell, if I'm pardoned, I'm great,'" Todd said. 'We owe thanks to God. And I say - and God touched President Trump's heart God led the people to advocate for us,' he added. 'And so, I'm grateful because every night I would pray that God would return me home to my wife and my children. And he did that, so I'm grateful.' Todd and Julie Chrisley, both longtime Trump supporters, were found guilty of conspiring to defraud community banks out of more than $30 million in fraudulent loans in 2022. Prosecutors said the couple walked away from their responsibility for repayment when Todd Chrisley declared bankruptcy. They also were found guilty of tax evasion and conspiring to defraud the IRS, and Julie Chrisley was convicted of wire fraud and obstruction of justice. Julie Chrisley was sentenced to seven years in federal prison, while her husband got 12 years behind bars. Both of their sentences were later reduced. The couple maintained their innocence during a press conference in May that was held shortly after their release. They will make their reality TV return with a new series on Lifetime, which will showcase the trial and its impacts on their family. 'We're going to set the record straight, and now we move forward with our lives,' their daughter, Savannah, said. The full interview is set to air at 9 p.m. Saturday, June 28, on My View with Lara Trump.

'Trash' Kim Kardashian slammed as she lands major role in the Bratz movie: 'Why is she an actress now?'

Kim Kardashian has been fiercely scolded after it was reported she has an acting role in the upcoming Bratz movie, with disgruntled fans so furious by the casting news that they're urging others to not give over their money to see it. On Wednesday, it was confirmed that Amazon MGM Studios landed the live-action movie revolving around the famous doll line after a bidding war. Deadline reports that businesswoman Kim, 44, is 'being eyed to play the villain in the project.' The news, however, has rattled social media users who have hit out at the decision to cast Kim and have begged cinemagoers to not part with their hard-earned cash to further line the pockets of the Kardashian family. In a Reddit post titled 'When are we, as a society, finally going to move past the Kardashians?' one furious user said: 'Nobody asked for this. Why is Kim an actress now?' Another agreed, adding: 'As someone who grew up with Bratz it pains me to have to give this a miss, but I hate the Kardashians and don't want to give any of them my money.' 'I refuse to watch anything she is in or buy any product she is associated with,' a third added. A fourth continued: 'Both Bratz and the Kardashians needed to go straight in the trash circa 2010 but here we are continuing to watch the dumpster fire burn bright.' 'Guys don't give this money please,' said another. A sixth blasted: 'Maybe, collectively, if we stop giving them attention, any attention, **they will go away**.' The Bratz fashion dolls previously took center stage in the Bratz: The Movie, released in 2017. Directed by Sean McNamara, the film was the first live-action based on the doll line after numerous direct-to-video animated films and a television series. The new Bratz film update comes after the success of Greta Gerwig's Barbie, which smashed box office records following its release in 2023. Kim's acting career has certainly ramped up in recent years. In 2023, she played a lead role in Ryan Murphy's anthology thriller American Horry Story: Delicate. She has since reunited with Ryan for his upcoming legal drama, All's Fair, which also stars Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash, Teyana Taylor, Sarah Paulson, and Glenn Close. Kim also serves as an executive producer on the series, set to premiere on Hulu in the fall. Prior to working with Ryan, Kim has made appearances as herself in the sitcoms 2 Broke Girls and How I Met Your Mother, as well as 90210, Last Man Standing, and 30 Rock. In April, legendary actress Glenn Close heaped praise on Kim's acting capabilities. Speaking to she said: 'Frankly, if she wants to be an actress, that's one road. But she could be. She's a great executive. 'She's a great businesswoman. She's a very, very involved mother. She's getting her law degree. 'So, I think she has huge potential and that she's fulfilled already as a woman. And frankly, I will be fascinated to see what she chooses to do.'
