Kuwait continues nationwide road development under comprehensive infrastructure plan
In a press statement, Dr. Al-Mashaan emphasized that road repair and maintenance projects are progressing in line with predetermined schedules. The aim, she noted, is to improve road efficiency and ensure greater traffic safety for all users.
Highlighting ongoing efforts on the ground, Engineer Fawaz Al-Mutairi stated that Ministry teams are actively supervising field work in Al-Omariya Block 1, where the second layer of asphalt is currently being laid. He also pointed to concurrent asphalt scraping operations underway in the Al-Rabiya area, both located within the Farwaniya Governorate.
Al-Mutairi affirmed the Ministry's commitment to upholding the highest standards of quality and safety throughout all stages of implementation. He added that minimizing disruption to traffic remains a top priority during construction and maintenance activities.
These developments, he noted, reflect the Ministry of Public Works' broader commitment to boosting infrastructure efficiency and enhancing the overall quality of life for both citizens and residents in Kuwait.

An 800-metre tunnel with four lanes in each direction has opened in Dubai as part of a project to ease traffic flow in the city. The tunnel extends from the junction with Al Khail Road to the intersection with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road as part of the Umm Suqeim Street development project. "The works included upgrading the intersection of Umm Suqeim Street with Al Barsha South Street, near Kings' School, where an 800-metre-long underpass with four lanes in each direction was constructed, in addition to a signalised surface-level intersection. "This development is considered one of the most important strategic projects for developing transverse east-west roads to enhance connectivity with vertical north-south roads. The completion of the project complements RTA's efforts to upgrade this corridor." The tunnel is part of plans to develop the Umm Suqeim-Al Qudra corridor, which extends from the intersection with Jumeirah Street to the junction with Emirates Road, spanning a total of 16km.

Dubai: RTA honours over 2,000 taxi drivers for customer service, skill
Over 2,000 Dubai taxi drivers have been honoured by Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) for their customer service and skill. Under the "Road Ambassadors" initiative, RTA praised the work of 2,172 taxi drivers who have followed all rules and regulations, upheld high standards of personal and vehicle cleanliness, and returned lost items to their owners. Ahmed Bahrozyan, CEO of RTA's Public Transport Agency, said, 'The recognition covered 2,172 drivers in 2024 and up to the first half of this year." He added that this programme has "fostered a spirit of healthy competition among drivers", and has enhanced customer satisfaction. "As a result, it has helped elevate the overall quality of life across the emirate by providing a safer, more comfortable travel experience and promoting greater traffic safety and awareness.' The honoured drivers expressed their appreciation and delight at the gesture.

Following their earlier decision on December 5, 2024, to gradually and flexibly phase out the 2.2 million barrels per day (bpd) in voluntary cuts beginning April 1, 2025, the group confirmed it would implement a production adjustment of 547,000 bpd for September 2025, relative to August's required levels. This move represents four incremental monthly increases. The countries noted that the adjustment decision reflects steady global economic indicators, healthy oil market fundamentals, and low inventory levels. However, they underscored that the rollback of the voluntary production cuts could be paused or reversed depending on future market developments, providing the group with necessary flexibility to maintain market stability. They reaffirmed their full commitment to the Declaration of Cooperation and the voluntary adjustments monitored by the Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee (JMMC) during its 53rd meeting on April 3, 2024. According to Saudi Press Agency , the eight producers also reiterated their pledge to fully compensate for any overproduction since January 2024.
