Sholay is going to complete 50 years on 15th August. In such a situation, the film is being released in theatres once again with a new version. This film has given many memories to the audience. Like the story of the film, many dialogues, friendship of Jai-Veeru, many memorable characters, fear of Gabbar Singh, Basanti's chatter, and much more. But do you know who is the real Basanti of this film is, who is 75 years old today? Let us tell you. How Sholay became a cult?
When 'Sholay' hit the big screen almost 50 years ago, it created history at the box office. Directed by Ramesh Sippy, this film featured big stars like Dharmendra, Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Jaya Bachchan, Amjad Khan and Sanjeev Kumar. However, there were some action scenes in the film that were not performed by the actors themselves, but by someone else. Hema Malini gave many dangerous scenes in the role of Basanti, but the actor was someone else. Not Hema Malini, but this star was the real Basanti
This woman is not seen in the film, but she was the one who performed every difficult stunt of Basanti. Here we are talking about Hindi cinema's first stuntwoman Reshma Pathak.
Apart from Hema Malini, she also worked as a body-double for famous actresses like Meena Kumari, Dimple Kapadia, Sridevi, and Rekha. She got the opportunity to enter the world of stunts because of a neighbour who was a stunt director and knew her difficult situation. How much was Reshma Pathak paid for Sholay?
Reshma Pathak's father found this work dangerous and refused. Reshma's only aim was to give a good life to her family. In 1968, she did a stunt for the first time for actress Lakshmi Chaya in the film 'Ek Khiladi Bawdi Patte'.
It was a dance scene in which the actress had to slide from the stage. Reshma did this scene in one take. She got 175 rupees a day for this work, out of which she used to save Rs 100 and spend Rs 75. Do you know Reshma Pathak's biopic?
Reshma Pathan worked in many big films and became a body double for many actresses. But her work as Hema Malini's duplicate in 'Sholay' is still considered the most memorable. Not only this, in 2019, a biopic named 'The Sholay Girl' was also made on her life, which was released on ZEE5. This film shows the story of her struggle and courage, which made her the real 'stunt queen' of Hindi cinema.

War 2 box office collection: Hrithik Rohan, Jr NTR starrer War 2 gets huge success, earns Rs..., next target is Rs...

War 2 Box Office Collection Worldwide: Directed by Ayan Mukherji, starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR and Kiara Advani, War 2 has been released in theatres. War 2, one of the most awaited films of the year with a huge budget, is making waves across the world. While the sixth film of the YRF spy universe has made a spectacular collection of Rs 52 crore in India, the figures of worldwide collection have also come out. War 2 box office collection day 2 War 2, made on a budget of 400 crores, is one of the most expensive films in Hindi cinema. This film starring Hrithik Roshan, Junior NTR's Hindi debut and Kiara Advani has lived up to people's expectations. War 2 has also given a tough competition to the previous films of the spy universe, Pathan and Tiger 3. If reports are to be believed, War 2 has earned Rs 82 crore worldwide. The Hindi collection of War 2 in India is Rs 29 crore (total Rs 36 crore), while the Telugu collection is Rs 25 crore. The Tamil collection is very low. The collection from abroad is US $ 2.4 million (Rs 20.75 crore), of which US $ 1 million is from the premiere and US $ 1.4 million from the first day. However, some trade analysts believe that this earning is low considering the fan following NTR has in the South. Will 'War 2' to reach earn Rs 300 crore in 4 days? However, keeping in mind the worldwide collection, it is now expected that within the next two days, War 2 will touch the figure of 300 crores worldwide. The film still has Saturday and Sunday off. It is expected that Hrithik and NTR's film will earn more in these two days than the opening day. However, the next week will decide whether War 2 will be a hit or a flop.

War 2 (Hindi) Day 2 Box Office: Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR starrer shows reasonable 60 percent growth on Independence holiday; Adds Rs 45 crore

War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji, and starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR and Kiara Advani among others, grew by a reasonable 60 percent on day 2 in Hindi, to add Rs 45 crore net. The two day cume of the movie in Hindi stands at Rs 73 crore, keeping it on track for a Rs 130 crore net weekend. These aren't good numbers but they are decent nonetheless. The trend in the weekdays will be critical for the movie to end with net Hindi collections of over Rs 200 crore. War 2 Adds Decent Rs 45 Crore Net On Independence Day Holiday In Hindi The true value Hindi day 2 of War 2 is around Rs 48 crore net. Due to preference of the Telugu version of the movie over the Hindi version, the collections in the Andhra states for the Hindi version are lower than what they would normally be. War 2's contribution from the Telugu version for the opening day was roughly Rs 20 crore net. The presence of Jr NTR propelled the movie to these numbers. The collections from the dubbed version have come down considerably on day 2 and that was pretty much expected, too. They are pegged at around Rs 10 crore net. The two day India net all language total is a little over Rs 100 crore. War 2's Andhra States Distributor Stands To Lose Big There should be some stability at low levels for the movie on Saturday and Sunday in Telugu. However, for the prices at which the rights of the movie in the Andhra states (all languages) were acquired for, the numbers being put up by the movie are simply not going to be enough. Renegotiations will have to happen, else the distributor will lose a fortune. War 2's Trajectory Indicates A Rs 250 - 300 Crore Net Finish (All Languages) The India net numbers of War 2 are likely to end in the Rs 250 - 300 crore net range unless the weekday drops are too crazy. The overseas numbers are not much to shout about either. A USD 7.5 million extended global weekend, including premieres is probably all that the movie will be able to manage. The hold over the weekdays will be critical if it really needs to hit USD 15 million in its full run. War 2 In Theatres War 2 plays in theatres now. Tickets for the movie can be booked from the box office or from online ticketing applications. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates.

Coolie Box Office Collection Day 2: Biggest opener of 2025, Rajinikanth's movie crosses ₹100 crore milestone

Coolie Box Office Collection Day 2: Coolie, which is already leading all 2025 releases in India to be the biggest opener of the year, has now crossed the ₹ 100 crore milestone at the Indian box office. Released on Thursday, August 14, superstar Rajinikanth's movie is setting the bar for domestic box office performance this year. Coolie has been released in five languages: Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada, boosting its pan-India appeal. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, has already surpassed the ₹ 100 crore milestone in just two days. On Friday, August 15, the Rajinikanth movie minted ₹ 40.57 crore. With this, the record-breaking, Coolie's 2-day total stands at ₹ 105.57 crore. Sacnilk said ticket prices surged dramatically, reaching as high as ₹ 4,500 in Chennai. Both the superstar actor and the hit filmmaker achieved their personal career-best opening day with Coolie ( ₹ 65 crore), surpassing all previous films in their respective records. Coolie became the first Tamil movie to cross the 150 crores worldwide mark on its opening day, cementing its place in cinematic history, said Sacnilk. Minting ₹ 153 crore globally, Coolie is the biggest Indian opener of 2025 at the worldwide box office. Singapore even granted paid leave for fans wanting to watch Coolie on opening day. Trade analysts estimate it needs around ₹ 600 crore worldwide to be considered a hit. Coolie is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. It is backed by Kalanithi Maran's Sun Pictures. In addition to Rajinikanth in the lead, the film also stars Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, Reba Monica John, Junior MGR, and Monisha Blessy. Bollywood actor Aamir Khan is also a part of the film in a cameo role as Daaha. Anirudh R scored the music and the songs of Coolie. The film has received mixed reactions from netizens so far. At the box office, it is clashing with Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR's War 2. Coolie was released as Rajinikanth celebrated 50 years in cinema. The censor board gave the movie an A (Adults-only) certificate. This is Rajinikanth's first A-rated film in many years.
