FLO Conquers All Areas With Final Tour Stop In Los Angeles
Witnessing the British trio live during the final stop of their Access All Areas tour was something ethereal, as though we were watching history be made in real time. Fans packed into the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on Thursday evening (May 22) and buzzed with anticipation as openers paved the way for the meteoric girl group.
Rising Bay Area singer Izye set the tone with an aura reminiscent of Tynisha Keli or JoJo. Josh Levi followed, teasing the crowd with a preview of his new album while reminding them how we fell for him in the first place. He danced his way through 'Ego' and 'Birthday Dance.' Jae Stephens, who felt like a reincarnated version of Ciara or Aaliyah, gifted fans with a performance that was both sexy and sweet with fan favorites, 'Girls Don't Cheat' and 'SMH' plus her newest single, 'That's My Baby.'
When FLO hit the stage hours later, their 'red light special' set was hypnotizing, but it wasn't just the visual aspect. It was their vocals. In an age when many mainstream acts rely heavily on autotune or some doctored version of their singing voice, Jorja, Stella, and Reneé reminded us that actual vocalists still exist.
They flexed their heavenly rifts and effortless harmonies on 'Access All Areas,' 'On & On,' 'Shoulda Woulda Coulda,' and especially the crowd favorite 'Losing You,' while also incorporating their '90s influence with covers of Ghost Town DJ's 'My Boo.' Between their lively choreography and the way fans were singing back hits like 'Walk Like This,' 'Check,' 'In My Bag,' and 'Fly Girl,' not a moment of stage time was wasted.
FLO surprised the crowd with DIXSON, the featured guest on the 'Bending My Rules' remix. Remember what we said about the vocals? The crooner is one of those people who can sang, and even though he hasn't released new solo music since 2023, this was the reminder many needed to show that he isn't one to play with.
The show closed with a chilling rendition of their debut single, 'Cardboard Box,' and the rock-and-roll inspired, 'I'm Just A Girl.' Similar to the energy that radiated in the days of Destiny's Child and TLC dominating the airwaves, FLO embodies all of that— beauty, talent, and stage presence. They're downright captivating in every way and are the epitome of what it means to be 'up next.'
FLO is no longer on their way. They've arrived.

Inglewood residents complain of noise from HARD Summer music festival, Lady Gaga concert
Inglewood residents are once against raising concerns over the booming noise brought on by the HARD Summer music festival, which is this time paired with Lady Gaga playing right across the street. Tens of thousands of fans flocked to Hollywood Park, next to SoFi Stadium for the HARD Summer festival and just steps away from the Kia Forum, where Lady Gaga is closing out the Los Angeles leg of her "The Mayhem Ball Tour." "I just love the energy, trying to have a good time, going to have fun," said Armando Alvarez, one of the thousands in Inglewood on Saturday for the music. "It doesn't matter where I am, just trying to have an adventure and go with the flow." While some concertgoers like Alvarez love the vibes in Inglewood, some residents are already fed up with the dueling performances. "It just sounded like a lot of banging, a lot of cheering and a lot of loud drumming," said Latrice Bates. She lives just down the street from SoFi Stadium and recalls the impact last year's HARD Summer festival had on her son. "He tosses and turns. He wakes up and says he can't sleep," Bates said. Last year, complaints came from as far as the South Bay, including places like El Segundo and Redondo Beach. City officials in the area reported more than 100 noise complaints from the festival, which led them to ban performances from the SoFi's American Airlines Plaza. Inglewood Mayor James Butts said that he wants the city to be an entertainment hub, but promised that this year's event would differ from last year's. "Last year, what happened was the main stage was American Airlines Plaza, 50 feet elevated from the floor of SoFi, and it was facing west and that, combined with atmospheric conditions, allowed the bass frequencies to run along the clouds," Butts said. He said that a changeup in where speakers were located, along with a newly-implemented concert curfew to coincide with the city curfew of 10 p.m., should help lessen residents' concerns. "It ran over last year. It will not run over this year," he said. "If I have to pull the plug myself, it will end at 10 o'clock." Prior to this weekend, HARD Summer event planners said that they were aware of last year's complaints, and that "extensive efforts" were taken "to mitigate sound levels with operational changes." Despite these promises from city officials and event organizers, some people living in the South Bay still took to social media to comment on the sound from the events, which some said they planned on reporting once again.

New entertainment venue in West Sacramento set to open at former Safeway location
A brand-new entertainment venue in West Sacramento is set to open next week. The Boulevard will feature an arcade, bowling alley and restaurant. The 37,000 square foot venue is on West Capitol Avenue and will be in what used to be a Safeway that closed in 2018. "West Sacramento is growing, and we're super happy to be a part of everything that is happening for West Sacramento," said Tami Thompson, the director of marketing. The entertainment venue has something for families and the 21-and-up crowd. "We have a lot of immersive gaming, we have over 65 of the latest state-of-the-art arcade games," Thompson said. The venue offers spark bowling, a tech-twist on the classic game with light-up lanes that follow the ball as it moves towards the pins. There's also a restaurant and bar, laser tag and billiards. But it may be the 30 televisions and 17-foot "wow" wall that puts the new business on the watch list for sports fans with Major League Baseball a few blocks away. "You can come watch the A's game, come after the game, we're trying to be a regional attraction for the greater Sacramento area," Thompson said. Thompson said the location, just off Interstate 80 and near Sutter Health Park, sets the Boulevard apart from other area attractions. "Maybe visitors who aren't from West Sacramento can come up here and reach us in a reasonable amount of time," Thompson said. With dozens of new jobs created for the city, the final step, opening day, is a week from Friday. There's a VIP event on Wednesday. A paid ticket gets you in first and all the proceeds go to three local charities: Loaves and Fishes, Habitat for Humanity and the Yolo County Children's Alliance.
