'It aims to support their entrepreneurial journeys within our vibrant nation and contribute to the country's economic growth,' Asfaazam said in his speech, representing Deputy Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib, at the ceremony.
The event featured keynote addresses, networking sessions, and award presentations that highlighted the unique accomplishments and leadership philosophies of this year's recipients.
Organised by Des Prix Infinitus Media, the awards reflect an inclusive outlook, welcoming international nominees and celebrating cross-border collaboration and impact.

King to make historic state visit to Russia this week
KUALA LUMPUR: His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, will undertake a state visit to Russia from Aug 5 to Aug 10 at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin. In a statement, Istana Negara announced that His Majesty will make history as the first Malaysian Head of State to conduct a state visit to Russia since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1967. Proposed EPF policy undermines contributors' right to their retirement funds, says SUPP man
Fang called upon the government to respect the voices and feedback of EPF contributors, whose funds had been accumulated over many years of employment. – Bernama photo KUCHING (Aug 3): The Batu Kitang branch of Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP) has voiced opposition to the proposed move to restrict Employees Provident Fund (EPF) lump sum withdrawals, stating that such a policy would deprive contributors of rightful access to their own savings. In a statement issued yesterday, the branch's publicity secretary Fang Toung Shyuan acknowledged the government's intent of preventing retirees from misusing their EPF savings and potentially falling into financial hardships. However, he also stressed about the retirement funds rightfully belonging to the contributors. 'EPF savings are the result of a member's lifelong hard work. 'Once they reach retirement age, the funds belong to them, not the EPF. 'Imposing mandatory restrictions on how these savings can be accessed is unjustified,' he said in the statement. Fang called upon the government to respect the voices and feedback of EPF contributors, whose funds had been accumulated over many years of employment. He argued that retirees should not be subjected to a rigid, one-size-fits-all policy, especially when many already had personal retirement plans in place. 'At the very least, members must be free to choose their preferred method of withdrawal,' he said. Fang also expressed concern over recent declines in EPF investment returns, which he warned could lead to public suspicion that the proposed policy served as a means for the government to shift financial risk to the people. He noted that some contributors planned to use their EPF savings to start small businesses, invest, support their children's ventures, or to make home purchases. Furthermore, he cited EPF's data reporting that around 50 per cent of members had less than RM10,000 in their accounts at retirement funds. 'If a monthly disbursement system is enforced, it could mean receiving only a few hundred ringgit per month, which may last just two to three years.' Brick by brick, Legoland Malaysia builds buzz for Visit Johor Year 2026
ISKANDAR PUTERI, Aug 3 — Legoland Malaysia Resort has expressed its continued commitment to highlighting local cultural elements with distinctive Malaysian flair in support of the Visit Johor Year (TMJ) 2026 campaign. Its vice-president, CS Lim, said the theme park has always prioritised the promotion of local culture through its seasonal celebrations and thematic events. 'Although Legoland Malaysia is an international theme park, we always prioritise celebrating local culture and festivals, through Lego-themed decorations and construction, cultural performances and activities that highlight Malaysian heritage. 'Therefore, ahead of TMJ 2026, we will continue to enrich this cultural touch through seasonal campaigns, special events and strategic collaborations to ensure visitors enjoy a unique experience with Malaysian identity,' he told Bernama. The Johor government is targeting 12 million visitors from home and abroad in conjunction with TMJ 2026. Lim said package deals with itineraries that combine Legoland Malaysia and other locations, such as Mersing Island, Desaru, as well as eco-tourism and cultural heritage attractions, are also offered to allow visitors to explore interesting destinations in Johor. He said the park currently receives a significant number of visitors not only from within Malaysia but also from neighbouring countries such as Singapore and Indonesia, which contributes to strong economic spillover in the Iskandar Puteri area. 'Our presence supports the local economy, including hotel operations, shopping malls, transport services, and food and beverage outlets. This, in turn, generates job opportunities for the local community,' he said. Lim also shared that comprehensive preparations are already underway to accommodate the expected surge in visitors by 2026. These include upgrading key facilities, enhancing staff skills, hiring additional personnel, and planning for improved visitor capacity management, which may involve extending the park's operating hours, he said. Lim said Johor has the potential to emerge as a leading regional tourist destination, citing its strategic location and the development of key infrastructure projects such as the Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link and expanded transportation networks. 'Johor is easily accessible to international and regional tourists, without relying solely on domestic flights. Visitors can travel via road, ferry, or flight from Kuala Lumpur and Changi Airport.
