Manchester United have a decision to make over their goalkeeping department with Andre Onana facing an uncertain future but one deal has already been confirmed by the Red Devils
Manchester United goalkeeper Radek Vitek has signed a new contract with the Red Devils before completing a loan move to Bristol City. The 21-year-old is a product of the club's academy and has regularly been afforded chances to train with the first team at Carrington.

But instead of joining the side on their pre-season tour, Vitek has penned a new deal until the summer of 2028 and straight away moved to Championship side Bristol City on a season-long loan. The Czech Republic youth international has previously had spells on loan with Accrington Stanley and Austrian side Blau-Weiß Linz.

On completing his move to Ashton Gate, Vítek said: 'I'm really excited, for me the Championship is a new level. More games is a big positive for me and I can't wait to get to know all the players and staff better.'

Vitek will now hope to earn more experience having been tipped for big things by Academy lead goalkeeping coach Tommy Lee. He said: "Radek has done great out there in Austria.
'He got an injury early on but recovered extremely well and played really well. He has got really good experience there. I think we often use Radek as an example to some of the younger goalkeepers in the Academy.
'He is a player who maximises every part of the programme to ensure he is the best he can possibly be. Nutrition, gym, analysis. He is the consummate professional and that is going to take him, I believe, to the top level.
"He is a talented boy and that needs to be said. He's 6ft 6ins and that always helps! For the other lads, their challenge is to be as good as Radek and do everything he does and more. He is a great example of someone who does that."
Vitek's departure comes amid uncertainty within the goalkeeping ranks at Old Trafford. Current number one Andre Onana 's future is up in the air following a tricky couple of campaigns during his time with United.

Ruben Amorim's side have been linked with a host of potential replacements including Aston Villa star Emi Martinez. United have already lodged a loan bid for the 2022 World Cup winner but that was rebuffed by the Midlands side.
Senne Lammens of Royal Antwerp has also emerged as a potential option for United, albeit would be a far less experienced option that Martinez.

'I don't think I'll ever get over it': John Terry opens up on his 2008 Champions League final penalty miss - as former Chelsea captain admits he still 'wakes up and can see it'

John Terry has opened up on his infamous penalty shootout blunder during Chelsea 's 2008 Champions League final defeat against Manchester United. Terry took what could have been the decisive penalty at the end of a 1-1 draw in the first-ever final between two English clubs, but slipped on the run-up and hit the post to send the shootout into sudden death. Nicolas Anelka went on to miss Chelsea's seventh spot-kick to hand Man United a domestic and European double, but Terry's miss is still seen as the decisive and iconic moment at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium. Over 17 years on from that portentous night, Terry has revealed that his costly mistake still plays on his mind. 'It's the hardest trophy to win and being in the final meant the world to everyone,' Terry told FourFourTwo. 'Playing in a Champions League final against a team from your own country was strange, but they were a great side and it was a tough slog of a game. 'I wasn't actually supposed to take one of the first five penalties, but Didier Drogba had been sent off. I still think about my miss to this day. Honestly - not as often as I used to, but I still wake up and it's there. I can see it. 'When you look back on your career, the trophies mean a lot but the ones you missed out on can haunt you and I won't forget that one. I don't think I'll ever get over it.' Despite his heartbreak in 2008, Terry did go on to win a Champions League title later down the line. Although he was suspended for the final, Terry took home a winners' medal when Chelsea overcame Bayern Munich to win Europe's elite club competition in 2012. The defender explained that that success makes his blunder in Moscow a lot easier to come to terms with. Terry added: 'I was broken by it. I'm just so thankful we won it in 2012. That helps me massively.' Last year, Terry revealed on the Up Front Podcast that it was 'probably the worst moment in my footballing career'. He said: 'I'm still not over it today. I don't think I ever will be. It's interesting because as a player you have so many highs, but it's the lows that stay with you longer. 'That night we lost we went back to the hotel and the manager was asking us all to go down for a drink, but I stayed in my room because I couldn't face the lads. Eventually I went down and had a beer with the rest of the group. 'I just remember standing in my hotel room on the 25th floor, looking over Moscow and asking myself, 'why then, why did it start raining then, why did I slip? 'The hardest thing for me was that three days later we had a friendly for England against USA at Wembley and we drew 1-1 I scored a header from outside of the box. If I could swap any two goals in my career it'd be those two.' He also previously told Sky in the months after the miss: 'Every morning I wake up, that's the first thing I think about. I am still so desperately disappointed about it. 'But I am a big man with a big character and it is now down to me to deal with that.' Speaking ahead of the 2008-09 season, he added: 'I'm certainly looking forward to the new season so I can wipe away that bitter disappointment for the club, and especially for me.'

Marlie Packer cleared for opening match of England's World Cup campaign

Packer's suspension rules her out of her country's final warm-up match, away to France on Saturday. Hosts England begin the World Cup on Friday, August 22 against the United States in Sunderland. An update from World Rugby following Marlie Packer's red card against Spain 👇 — Red Roses (@RedRosesRugby) August 3, 2025 In determining the sanction, World Rugby's foul play review committee noted Packer accepted foul play occurred but she did not agree the offence warranted a red card. Her challenge, which did not result in injury to Harlequins player Pena, was deemed to be 'reckless'. The committee decided the offence warranted a two-match ban but opted to award full 50 per cent mitigation. England's 15-try success at Welford Road was Packer's first match as captain since being replaced in the full-time role by Zoe Aldcroft in January. The Saracens forward, who has 111 Test caps, led the Red Roses to back-to-back Six Nations Grand Slams in 2023 and 2024 and is one of head coach John Mitchell's vice-captains.

Lando Norris leads McLaren one-two at Hungarian Grand Prix

Two McLaren drivers, wheel to wheel at turn 1, fans on their feet and their bosses biting their nails on the pitwall, this was Formula 1 at its finest. It will certainly feel like it for Lando Norris, who having made an error at the start, had a better strategy and held off his team-mate on fresher tyres brilliantly. Oscar Piastri, the championship leader, made a critical error on his penultimate attempt to pass Norris, locking up and almost colliding with his team-mate. 'Remember how we go racing', was the call from his race engineer, but for the Australian it was already too late, ruining his chance to have one final attempt on the last lap. Norris closed the gap to his team-mate for the world title to only nine points going into Formula 1's summer shutdown.
