Ju Haknyeon is officially no longer a member of THE BOYZ, and his contract with One Hundred Label has been terminated. The decision came in the wake of reports revealing that the idol had a private encounter with former Japanese adult film actress Kirara Asuka.
Late-night meeting in Tokyo sparks controversy
According to an exclusive report by News1, citing Japanese outlet Shūkan Bunshun, Ju Haknyeon was spotted with Kirara Asuka at a bar in Roppongi, Tokyo, on May 29, 2025. He was reportedly accompanied by acquaintances during the outing. Witnesses claim the two spent the evening drinking together, with interactions that included hugging and moments of physical closeness—at one point, Kirara was seen resting her chin on Ju Haknyeon's shoulder.

Who is Kirara Asuka?
Kirara Asuka made her debut in Japan's AV (adult video) industry in 2007 and retired in 2020. Since stepping away from adult entertainment, she has rebranded herself as an influencer and media personality, building a considerable following in Japan.
Sudden hiatus followed by contract termination
Prior to the scandal breaking, Ju Haknyeon had unexpectedly announced a temporary hiatus from THE BOYZ's activities. The timing raised questions, which have now been partially answered by the unfolding situation.
On June 18, One Hundred Label released an official statement confirming Ju Haknyeon's departure from both the group and the company:
"We recently took action to suspend Ju Haknyeon's activities as soon as we were informed that he was involved in a controversial incident in order to take time to thoroughly investigate and verify the facts.

As a result of our investigation, we have recognized the severity of the issue and have taken it seriously. We have realized that it has become difficult to maintain our trust in him as an artist. Due to this, after sufficient discussions with the members of THE BOYZ, we have decided that Ju Haknyeon will be withdrawing from the group and that his exclusive contract will be terminated.
We kindly ask for your understanding that this decision was an inevitable decision made to protect the members of THE BOYZ and the group as a whole. We are informing you that as of today, Ju Haknyeon will no longer be part of THE BOYZ and will cease all activities with the group."
Future of THE BOYZ
The label concluded its statement by assuring fans that it would continue to support the remaining members of THE BOYZ and help them move forward in a "healthy and stable" environment.

"One Hundred Label will spare no effort in fully supporting the remaining members of THE BOYZ so that they can continue to promote in a healthy and stable state. Once again, we sincerely apologize for causing concern to the fans and we will do our best to repay the fans with better news and promotions in the future."
The scandal has sparked a strong response from netizens and fans across platforms, with the situation continuing to unfold as Ju Haknyeon exits the spotlight.

Recap on the trendy messaging accessory

Once upon a time, the baseball cap was a humble shade-provider, shielding foreheads from the sun and bad hair days. Twice upon a time, it was a style statement, made by anyone from rappers wearing it ulta to Kareena Kapoor. Third time around, thanks to Style-Bhai Don , the cap is the new t-shirt: portable message board. No longer confined to MAGA fashionistas, messages like 'I'm with Stupid' and 'World's Okayest Brother' are all the rage now on a curved brim. The cap has become the canvas of choice for manifestos, endorsements, and that blend of irony and sincerity only achievable in headgear. Trump wore a white variant with his favourite slogan at the G7 summit this week - only to be capped by Steven Crowchild of the indigenous Tsuut'ina First Nation with his resplendent feathered t-shirts, caps don't wrinkle when you flex your beliefs. Although they may get you in a tangle, as it did K-pop singer Jungkook when he had to issue a public apology last week in Japan for wearing a cap with the words, 'Make Tokyo Great Again', a phrase frowned upon because of its use by far-right Japanese figures. Cap messaging should reach new heights with 'Make Baseball Caps Boring Again', or that favourite of fashion-forward nihilists, 'Meh'. Who knows what would have happened with caps bearing 'Simon, Go Back!' and 'Talk Less, Work More'.
