Sarina Wiegman's Lionesses are one win away from becoming the first England side to retain a major title, but will face their toughest challenge of the summer in tonight's final.
They will go toe to toe with world champions Spain with the trophy on the line.
England go into the match as underdogs after coming from behind to win in both the quarter-final and semi-final, both of which required extra time.
They will be boosted in the final, though, by the return of Lauren James, fit again after suffering an ankle issue in the semi-final.
Spain had a considerably tougher route to the final, facing Switzerland and Germany in their knockout matches.
Aitana Bonmati scored the only goal as La Roja edged past Die Mannschaft in the semi-final, just weeks after being hospitalised with meningitis.
She will be one to watch in the final, as will Barcelona's Alexia Putellas, widely regarded as one of the greatest women's footballers of all time.
Previewing the match, England captain Leah Williamson admitted the Lionesses would need to be at their best: 'Every team is hard to beat and every team poses a different threat and challenge, and we have to stay in it for as long as possible until we can take advantage of it.'

Lakers' Bronny James Offers Major Update About His Health

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The Los Angeles Lakers are hoping to see a big jump from second-year guard Bronny James during the 2025-26 NBA season. While he showed good flashes during Summer League action, he still has a lot of work to do. James knows that he has an uphill battle ahead of him. He is not the most talented young player on the roster, but he's willing to put in the work. However, he is still dealing with some lingering issues that came from the cardiac arrest that he suffered during his tenure with the USC Trojans in college. Read more: New York Knicks Get Major LeBron James Update Recently, as shared by ESPN, James spoke out about the problems that have come up stemming from the cardiac arrest. He thinks that his immune system was impacted, as he gets sick much easier now than he did before. "I get kind of sick easier now," James said. "Which is kind of weird, but I think it messed with my immune system a little bit. So, I would have times where I have to sit out, and that conditioning that I'm working on just goes away in that week of me being out." Even though going through such a traumatic situation would impact most, James has been able to focus on basketball. He is simply enjoying his second chance at life. As a rookie with the Lakers, James played in 27 games and made one start. He averaged 6.7 minutes per game and produced 2.3 points, 0.8 assists, and 0.7 rebounds per game. During his time in the G-League, James played very well. He appeared in 11 games for the South Bay Lakers, averaging 21.9 points per game to go along with 5.4 assists, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.9 steals. He also shot 44 percent from the floor and 38 percent from three-point range. James also shared recently that he's focused on the defensive side of the court. He believes that becoming an elite defender will help him earn playing time. I've got to be a defensive menace." Clearly, the young Los Angeles guard knows what he needs to do. Becoming a defensive ace would be very helpful to earn minutes. Only time will tell, but James is working hard to improve and is willing to do whatever it takes to help the team win. He has been through a lot already, but that isn't something he has allowed to get him down. For more on the Los Angeles Lakers and general NBA news, head on over to Newsweek Sports.

Sixers' Tyrese Maxey works out with Lakers superstar LeBron James

Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey is always looking to take the next step to become a better player in this league in an effort to win a title. The 5-year guard has already been named an All-Star, but has yet to get past Round 2 in the playoffs as he looks to lead the Sixers deep into the playoffs. Maxey is a maniacal worker who always uses the offseason to get 1% better and take another step in his career. He has spent this 2025 offseason working out with Memphis Grizzlies guard, and 2-time NBA champ, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and he is now working out with a legend, and somebody he works out with regularly, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James. Trainer Chris Johnson posted a photo on his Instagram of James and Maxey after finishing up a workout. This isn't much of a surprise to see James and Maxey working out as they have done so in the past and do so often. It just shows how badly Maxey wants to take that next step in his career as he prepares for his sixth season.
