It has been a warmer than normal start to the day today, with temps running in the 50s to near 60 out the door. Expect a mix of sun and clouds through the day today, with highs pretty close to normal in the lower 70s. Normal highs for this time of the year are in the middle 70s.
Expect another nice night tonight, with lows in the middle 50s. Partly cloudy skies will be the rule on Monday with temps the warmest of the work week, but still a couple degrees below normal in the lower 70s. Changes will start late on Monday with clouds increasing from the southwest.
Expect more clouds, and rain showers returning by the middle of the day and for the afternoon on Tuesday with highs well below normal in the middle 60s. Expect on and off showers around on a cool day on Wednesday in the middle 60s. The weather system responsible for the rain showers will continue to move south and east of our area into Thursday.
This will keep morning rain showers in the forecast on Thursday, but on the backside of this system, we will have plenty of clouds, and a cool northerly breeze, and highs only in the lower 60s. Expect the trailing upper low to swing through on Friday, and bring an isolated shower chance or two, with highs in the low to mid 60s.
As we get into the weekend, expect some clearing, but backside cloud cover on the low with highs remaining on the upper 60s, which is about 10 degrees below normal once again.

Rounds of showers and storms across Maryland this weekend
After patchy dense fog across the eastern shore this morning, we're now looking at improving weather conditions. Visibility continues to improve as those areas of fog are lifting. The air will have a warm and muggy feel this morning with temperatures climbing into the lower 80s by lunchtime. Very warm and muggy Friday You'll want to dress for the heat and humidity today. Hazy sunshine will allow temperatures to soar into the middle to upper 80s, but when you factor in the higher humidity levels, the feels like temperatures will reach the lower 90s. The hottest temperatures this afternoon will be located north and west of the Baltimore Beltway where high temperatures will get close to 90°. Temperatures along and near Chesapeake Bay will be cooler with the bay breeze kicking into gear this afternoon. Look for highs in the lower to middle 80s along and near the shoreline. Weekend has a mix of showers, storms, and sunshine While the weekend doesn't look like a washout, we will be dealing with a few rounds of showers and storms. There will be dry windows of time where you can get outside, but other times you'll need to seek cover from passing showers and storms. Saturday morning looks wet across most of Maryland. Widespread showers and even a steadier rain is possible through mid to late morning. This batch of rain will impact most of our area, so any Saturday morning activities that are weather dependent will be dealing with the wet weather. There will be a break in the widespread rain developing late Saturday morning through early afternoon. During this time, clouds may break for pockets of sunshine with temperatures warming into the lower to middle 80s. Another weather disturbance will approach mid to late afternoon allowing for isolated to widely scattered storms to form. These storms will be of the hit or miss variety, so some neighborhoods will get drenched, while others may not see any afternoon rain at all. The best bet is to have an alternative plan in place incase storms impact your area. The best chance for gusty afternoon storms Saturday would be from 2 pm until 10 pm. Late Saturday evening and Saturday night look mainly dry and quiet. Temperatures Saturday night will be sultry in the upper 60s with plenty of humidity. Sunday starts quiet in most neighborhoods, but additional showers and thunderstorms will approach the area midday into the afternoon hours. Some of these storms could be strong to severe with isolated damaging winds. Outside of any strong storms, rainfall rates will be high with storms as they'll be producing drenching downpours along with frequent lightning. Storms exit Sunday night. Highs on Sunday will top out in the upper 70s. Nice Monday then more storms Tuesday Monday's weather is trending drier with a mixture of clouds and sunshine. High temperatures will reach the lower 80s. A strong cold front will approach the area on Tuesday. This will bring a batches of showers and thunderstorms to the area. With the high humidity levels, any storm could drop drenching downpours. Fortunately for those looking for an extended stretch of nice outdoor weather, we have some good news for you. Wednesday we will begin an extended stretch of sunny, dry, and warm weather.

Thunderstorms possible as humidity sticks around Tr-State Area
The humid weather sticks around the New York City area to finish the week, and there could be a chance of thunderstorms Friday evening. Although the city only hit a high of 87 on Thursday, several areas did reach the 90s, making it the hottest day of 2025 so far. While it won't be as hot today, highs will still be warm, reaching the low-to-mid 80s. As for humidity levels, those are already elevated and will continue to rise throughout the day. CBS News New York As a result of the high humidity levels and a cold front approaching, the chance of showers and thunderstorms does return for this afternoon and evening. A few storms may be on the stronger side, but those will be mainly confined to the northwestern suburbs, which is also where the greatest risk of flash flooding lies. For tonight, the storm chance dwindles, but clouds and mugginess remain. Lows will be in the mid-to-upper 60s. CBS News New York Then for Saturday, another chance of showers and storms resumes by the afternoon and early evening hours. The highest threat of strong-to-severe storms shifts to areas south and west of the city. Humidity levels will climb even further, while high temperatures will be cooler, only reaching the mid-to-upper 70s. CBS News New York Clouds won't be in any hurry to leave on Sunday, as most of that day will feature them. Overall, most of the day looks dry, with the chance of showers returning by the afternoon and evening. Highs will be in the mid 70s once again, while humidity levels will drop a bit. Pittsburgh in for humid conditions and numerous storms beginning Friday afternoon
This morning, the front associated with yesterday's thunderstorm activity stalled near the I-70 corridor with a humid and warm air mass in place in its vicinity. WEATHER LINKS: Current Conditions | School Closings & Delays | Submit Your Weather Photos With light winds in place and high levels of humidity near the ground, this has resulted in the development of patchy fog. High temperatures and rain chances today in Western Pennsylvania KDKA Weather Center The fog is generally thickest near and northwest of the Pittsburgh metro and will be in place through the next few hours. Some scattered showers are ongoing across Ohio and will move from west to east through sunrise and into the mid-morning hours. As low-level heating commences, this will allow instability to build up, resulting in a transition from showers to scattered and even numerous thunderstorms developing by 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and lasting through the evening hours. Similar to yesterday, wind shear values aren't too high, but just enough to allow for pulse storms that could produce localized microbursts of wind up to 60mph, very heavy rain, and at most quarter-sized hail. Severe weather threats on Friday afternoon into the evening KDKA Weather Center The bulk of the storm activity will shift south toward I-70 and I-68 during the late evening and overnight hours of Saturday. After a few morning showers, most of Saturday into Saturday night is trending drier as we will be in between systems with high pressure to the north. On Sunday, moisture will return north ahead of another disturbance. It is likely that showers and numerous thunderstorms will move in during the midday to afternoon hours with this system. An isolated severe storm cannot be ruled out, especially south of Pittsburgh toward the I-70 and I-68 corridors. Following Sunday's system, a more potent upper-level storm system will move in on Monday into Monday evening. This system will have much stronger winds aloft and be accompanied by sufficient moisture and some instability, so we will need to keep an eye on a potentially higher severe weather threat with this system.
