Spike in Google searches for 'TRNSMT refund' after Kneecap axed
GOOGLE has seen a major spike in web searches for "TRNSMT refund" after Kneecap were axed from the festival.
On Wednesday, it was confirmed that the Irish rap group had been removed from the line-up, as promoters DF Concerts cited "concerns expressed by the [p]olice about safety at the event".
Ticket holders were emailed about the decision, with a statement which said: "Due to concerns expressed by the Police about safety at the event, Kneecap will no longer perform at TRNSMT on Friday, 11 July.

"We thank fans for their understanding."
Responding, Kneecap said that "Glasgow has always been a huge city for us" as they announced a new gig taking place in Glasgow on July 8, just days before their appearance at TRNSMT was scheduled to take place.
Presale tickets for the gig at the O2 Academy sold out within seconds on Thursday morning, the group said, with general tickets going on sale on Saturday morning from 10am.
Since the announcement that Kneecap had been axed from TRNSMT, search engine Google has seen a huge increase in the number of searches for "TRNSMT refund".

Google has listed 100% of searches as originating in Scotland.
Users are also searching for the term "reimbursement".
TRNSMT's terms and conditions state that refunds are typically only issued if the event has been cancelled in full, with partial refunds given if only one or more days is cancelled.
If a "material alteration" is made to the festival, customers can also request a refund. However, this does not include any changes to the line-up of the festival.

Ticket holders have also taken to social media to ask whether they can get a refund following the news that Kneecap was axed from the festival.

One social media user said: "In light of this email could anyone from @TicketmasterUK @TRNSMTfest advise on how to claim a refund?
"The only reason I was taking my teenage daughter was to see @KNEECAPCEOL"
Another said: "TRNSMT + Rockstar Energy need to explain exactly what those publicly safety concerns are
"Because at face value they read like a lie. They read like you, or police, have caved to pressure from Israeli Lobby.
"Until you do, everyone attending @TRNSMTfest should demand a refund."

Iran says Israeli ‘treasure trove' of secret documents to be unveiled soon
Iranian Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib has said sensitive Israeli documents related to its nuclear facilities, its relationship with the United States, Europe and other countries, as well as its defensive capabilities, will be unveiled soon. Khatib told state TV on Sunday that the documents obtained by Tehran were a 'treasure trove' capable of strengthening the nation's offensive posture, but he did not provide any immediate evidence. Israel to block arrival of activist ship carrying Thunberg in Gaza
Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has ordered the military not to allow a sailing ship carrying Greta Thunberg and other activists to enter the Gaza Strip. "Israel will not allow anyone to break the naval blockade of the Gaza Strip," Katz said in a statement on X. He said he had ordered the armed forces to prevent the arrival of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition's ship Madleen. Addressing Thunberg and the 11 other activists on board, Katz said: "You should turn back because you will not reach Gaza." The defence minister described the ship's crew as "left-wing extremist activists." He emphasized that the naval blockade of Gaza was introduced in 2007 after the Palestinian Islamist Hamas came to power, and aims to prevent weapons from being delivered to the militant group. The Freedom Flotilla Coalition says it wants to bring relief supplies including baby food and medical supplies to the desperate people in the devastated Gaza Strip, and has repeatedly emphasized that there are no weapons on board. The activists also want to draw international attention to the humanitarian situation on the ground. The Madleen set sail from Sicily a week ago and aims to reach the coast on Monday. On Sunday afternoon, the ship was less than 300 kilometres from its destination, north of the Egyptian coast.
