Dibba Al Hisn Club holds 2 workshops on Quran recitation and falconry
The club's mosque hosted a Quranic workshop titled 'With My Recitation of the Quran, I Elevate My Life', in collaboration with the Department of Islamic Affairs. The session, led by Sheikh Mohammed Oughlad, saw active participation from attendees who immersed themselves in a spiritual atmosphere and gained valuable insights on the virtue of correct recitation and its positive influence on human behaviour. Summer Initiatives That Blend Fun, Education, and Values The workshop forms part of the 'Here is Sharjah' week, under the Sharjah Summer Sports Programme organised by the Sharjah Sports Council, held under the slogan 'Our Holiday is Different'. It is one of the key summer initiatives that combine entertainment, education, and instilling values in children and youth during their summer break—aligned with the educational and cultural vision of the Emirate of Sharjah in supporting the younger generation. Developing a Balanced Emirati Child and Youth Personality The club continues its efforts by offering distinctive programmes that contribute to developing a balanced personality for Emirati children and youth. This approach draws inspiration from the wise leadership of the Emirate of Sharjah, which has turned summer into an effective educational platform, no less important than school in its moral and social roles. Educational Workshop on Falconry As part of connecting participants with their national heritage and introducing them to the UAE's cultural legacy, the club also held an educational workshop on falconry, in cooperation with the Sharjah Falconers Club. The session, delivered by trainer Badr Ali Al Marikhi, focused on the significance of falconry in Emirati culture and its value as an art and heritage that reflects the deep bond between humans and the environment. Participants were introduced to the tools used in the practice and learned the basics of handling falcons in a hands-on experience that added rich cultural depth to the day. Games, Football and Swimming On the same day, participants enjoyed a variety of activities including fun games, football, and swimming, all conducted in an atmosphere of joy and enthusiasm. The events were supervised by the club's staff and volunteers, who ensured a safe, educational environment that promotes teamwork, cooperation, discipline, and social engagement. Fostering a Sense of Belonging and Community Responsibility Organisers of the summer activities at Dibba Al Hisn Club affirmed that these events are part of a series of educational, sporting, and artistic programmes offered throughout the summer. They aim to help participants make meaningful use of their time in ways that benefit them intellectually, behaviourally, and physically, while also strengthening their sense of belonging and social responsibility.
