Passenger vows to never fly Spirit Airlines again over nightmare seatmate: ‘This is crazy'
She didn't realize she'd be flying roach.
A woman has sworn off flying Spirit Airlines after finding cockroaches in her seating area during a recent flight, as revealed in an X video with nearly 8 million views.
'Never again will I fly @SpiritAirlines,' the passenger — who goes by @symonebeez — wrote in the caption while describing the bugged airplane. 'I've flown over 500,000 miles on Delta and have never in my life seen roaches on a plane. This is crazy.'
4 A roach clambers up the bulkhead in the revolting video.

In the footage, which was reportedly taken on Mother's Day, two separate roaches can be seen scuttling up the bulkhead in front of the horrified flyer.
'I ended up in the big seat tickets, I did not think it was going to come with these big roaches as well,' the aghast traveler quipped in a TikTok video detailing her mile-high roach motel.
And while she remained mum during the initial palmetto bug enc-roach-ment, the flyer finally spoke up after seeing her second six-legged seatmate.
Unfortunately, the flight attendants didn't seem to share her concern.
4 Some flight experts claimed the roaches may have originated with the passengers and not the aircraft.

'I started to talk to the flight attendant [and] say 'hey, there's roaches in here…is there something you can do to clean it up?' the TikTokker recalled. 'And he was just like 'ah' and that was it and then he just went back to his seat.
'He literally did not care,' recalled the content creator, who said this nonchalance inspired her to repost the video to Twitter.
Viewers were horrified over the alleged infestation.
'I would've screamed so loud they would've had no choice but to land that plane QUICK FAST,' wrote one appalled commenter, while another said, 'at that point all my belongings gotta be burned to high heaven.'
'You was in the Tubi Sequal to snakes on a plane,' quipped a third. 'I'm sick of these MF Roaches on this MF plane'
'They need follow up with free flight(s) because this is nasty work,' said another.

According to a follow-up X post, Spirit addressed the situation in a message to the flyer, writing: 'We sincerely apologize for what happened on your trip. We care about your satisfaction and want to make this right.'
They offered her a $60 credit to use toward one of their flights, per the traveler, who said she refused as she 'won't be flying Spirit again.'
4 The TikTokker said she had flown Delta tons of times and had never had a roach issue like on Spirit (pictured).

While these creepy crawly stowaways might seem like a major oversight, some flight experts have pointed out that they likely originated from the passengers and not the aircraft.
Gary Leff at flight blog One Mile At A Time shared a post by an entomology expert and corporate exec who was contracted by Delta Air Lines for an unspecified project.
'The main area that causes fliers to see bugs on the plane [is] from the overhead luggage,' the expert read. 'If a traveler has bed bugs or roaches in their carry-on, inevitably some may get out and potentially [be] seen by other travelers.
They added, 'The issue arises because of the clientele of the plane. The more individuals who live in roach-infested homes/apartments, the more likely they are to carry bugs on the plane and for a few of those insects to get out of their carry-on and scurry around for others to see.'
However, they argued that the blame still lay with Spirit as they could've been lax with their pest control policies.
They suggested that while Delta will 'shut a plane down from flight if a major issue is found,' other airlines might not 'allocate much money to pest control.'

Travis Barker ‘Played Peacemaker' Between Kourtney Kardashian and Alabama Amid Bhad Bhabie Drama
Kourtney Kardashian and husband Travis Barker's daughter Alabama Barker have gone through ups and downs of late, but a source exclusively tells In Touch that the Blink-182 drummer has brokered peace between the two. 'Kourtney and Alabama have really turned a corner. Things are in a much better place between them now than they were a month ago,' the insider says. 'Not to say Kourtney doesn't still have her hands full. Alabama's a very feisty free spirit. She's always going to stick up for herself. But thankfully, Travis stepped in to play peacemaker.' The source adds that Travis, 49, sat down with his wife, 46, and daughter, 19, and 'told them how much he loves them, and how important it is for them to support each other,' especially now that they have Kourtney and Travis' young son, Rocky, 19 months, to take care of. 'It was a turning point. Kourtney and Alabama had a real heart-to-heart and decided to move forward with a clean slate,' the source concludes. 'They're not besties overnight, but there's a lot more respect and effort on both sides now. They even had a girls' date recently and got their nails done together. Travis couldn't be happier. His girls finally getting along has taken a huge weight off his shoulders.' Alabama even made her appreciation for her stepmom publicly known on Mother's Day. The rapper took to her Instagram Stories on May 11 with a sweet shoutout to Kourtney. 'Happy Mother's Day to someone who chose to love me like her own,' Alabama wrote. 'You stepped into my life with patience, care, and an open heart, and I'm so grateful for everything you've done to support and guide me. Your presence has brought comfort, strength, and so much love, and I truly appreciate the role you've played in my life. Thank you for showing up, for listening, and for being someone I can count on. You mean more to me than you know.' Travis shares Alabama and son Landon, 21, with ex Shanna Moakler. He is also a stepfather to Shanna's daughter Atiana De La Hoya, 26. Meanwhile, Kourtney shares son Mason, 15, daughter Penelope, 12, and son Reign, 10, with ex Scott Disick. She and Travis welcomed Rocky in November 2023. The blended family recently faced some drama when Alabama entered a feud with former friend Danielle Bregoli, a.k.a. Bhad Bhabie and the 'Cash Me Outside' Girl. In late 2024, Bhabie, 22, accused Alabama of trying to steal her boyfriend and the father of her child, Le Vaughn, while the pair was on a break. Though Alabama admitted to 'spending time' with the rapper, she denied knowing that he was Bhabie's boyfriend at the time. The female musicians' beef turned into a rap battle with one song, 'Cry Bhabie,' from Alabama and three tracks, 'Over Cooked,' 'Ms. Whitman' and 'OG Crashout,' from Bhabie. The 'Hi Bich' singer dragged Kourtney and her family into the drama on 'Ms. Whitman' in February when she twerked on a Travis lookalike in the music video and rapped about Alabama allegedly getting 'kicked out of the Kardashian house.' She even included a line that was seemingly about Kourtney, rapping, 'Your stepmom burnt out.' Later, both Reign and Rocky were brought into the mix. Reign, who typically stays off social media, appeared on an Instagram Live with Alabama's boyfriend, Scooter Jackson, to deny rumors that Justin Bieber was his father. Meanwhile, Bhabie's mom, Barbara, slammed Alabama as a 'little dirty ass hoe' that was 'still talking about my granddaughter yet her daddy has a whole new family. Rocky rules while you're just on your knees,' she wrote in a social media post. While the feud has seemingly since fizzled out, a source exclusively told In Touch in early May that it was 'a huge source of stress' for Kourtney and Travis. 'They're both upset and worried about Alabama and now on top of that, Kourtney's hit the roof because Rocky and Reign have both gotten dragged into the negativity,' the insider added. The source continued, 'Rocky's a baby and he's already getting trash talked in public thanks to Alabama having this toxic feud. And now thanks to Alabama's boyfriend, Reign has had to answer questions from random strangers on the internet about whether Justin Bieber is his dad. It's absolutely horrifying.'

Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Business American Express Card: Earn 110,000 bonus miles after spending $12,000 on eligible purchases in your first six months of card membership. With over 290 destinations across six continents and more than 200 million customers served in 2024, Delta is one of the most well-known airlines worldwide. And you could reduce much of the upfront cost of flying to one of Delta's global destinations if you're able to take advantage of these generous sign-up bonuses. It depends on how you redeem the miles, but we value Delta SkyMiles at an average of 1.18 cents each. That means 100,000 miles equals about $1,180. However, as with many airline credit cards, the exact value of your miles depends on how you use them. Since Delta uses dynamic pricing, you can see different values with each redemption. You can find plenty of value with 100,000 (give or take, depending on the welcome offer) Delta SkyMiles. This is especially true when accounting for the TakeOff 15 benefit, which provides an automatic 15% discount on eligible award flights for Delta SkyMiles cardholders. Let's take a look at some possible redemptions. You can fly from Los Angeles (LAX) to Auckland (AKL) for 38,200 miles. The cash price for the same flight is $1,341, giving you a redemption value of about 3.5 cents per mile ($1,341 / 38,200 = 0.035104). You'll still have plenty of miles left to figure out your return flight, which could mean including a stop in Australia after visiting Hobbiton (and while you're in the area). This flight from Salt Lake City (SLC) to Mexico City (MEX) will only set you back 26,300 miles. The redemption value for this flight is about 1.5 cents per mile, which is better than our average valuation. And with miles to spare, you can bring some friends or work on covering the return leg home. You don't have to get fancy with your redemptions; a short flight will do just fine if it saves you money, especially if it's a route you frequently take. Consider this example: A flight between Atlanta (ATL) and Miami (MIA) that costs 8,300 miles or $117. With 100,000 miles, you could take this flight 12 times, giving you plenty of opportunities for vacations or visiting friends and family. This particular flight has a redemption value of about 1.4 cents per mile. See which flavor — Gold, Platinum, or Reserve — of Delta SkyMiles card is the best fit for you. Consider which Delta SkyMiles business card is right for you if you run a small best Delta SkyMiles credit card for you depends on your goals and spending habits. If you only fly occasionally, maybe a few times per year, we recommend the Delta SkyMiles Gold Amex Card. This card has the lowest annual fee but still provides one of the best benefits: a free checked bag. With only a few roundtrip flights, you can offset the annual fee in saved baggage charges. If you travel a lot, a card like the Delta SkyMiles Platinum Amex Card or Delta SkyMiles Reserve Amex Card may make more sense. These cards have higher annual fees, but they also provide more benefits. For example, the Delta Reserve Amex Card offers Delta Sky Club Access (at least 15 visits each Medallion year), which could come in handy the more you find yourself in airports. Business owners can apply for the personal or business versions of the Delta SkyMiles credit cards. The business credit cards are largely the same as their personal variants, but their welcome offers require increased spending, so keep that in mind when making your decision. All the Delta SkyMiles credit cards associated with these new welcome offers have annual fees. If you want to avoid an annual fee at all costs, consider no-annual-fee credit Disclosure: The information in this article has not been reviewed or approved by any advertiser.
