There is simply no stopping that!
Liverpool continue their pre-season schedule this week with a friendly against AC Milan in Hong Kong.
Despite the Serie A side taking the lead after 10 minute through Rafael Leão, it was Dominik Szoboszlai who put the Reds back on level terms in the first half.
Teenager Rio Ngumoha picked out the Hungarian on the edge of the box and Szoboszlai curled an outrageous effort into the top corner.
Can Liverpool find another goal?

Hansi Flick drops Ter Stegen-Joan García jersey number hint

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has moved to play down the significance of the jersey number made use of by Joan García in the club's meeting with Vissel Kobe. Barcelona of course kicked their pre-season fixture list into gear on Sunday, in a friendly meeting with Vissel in the city of Kobe. Summer signing Joan was for his part in from the off in the clash, his debut in Blaugrana colours. Not only that, but the 24-year-old took to the pitch donning Barca's no.1 jersey. This squad number was held by Marc-André ter Stegen this past season, with no official confirmation as of yet having been forthcoming that the German has been stripped of as much. Upon Joan being spotted making use of the '1' yesterday, though, chatter surrounding a change of the guard between the posts in Hansi Flick's squad quickly spread. Speaking to the media post-match, Flick was therefore questioned on whether or not Joan has indeed taken Ter Stegen's shirt number. The German, however, was quick to assure that: 'Numbers worn in pre-season are only for pre-season.' Conor Laird – GSFN

Madrid's reduced valuation puts Liverpool on alert

Rodrygo Back on Liverpool's Radar as Real Madrid Drop Price Tag As Liverpool's pre-season tour rolls through Asia, much of the club's intrigue lies away from the pitch. While the 4-2 loss to AC Milan generated some talking points, the real focus remains on Arne Slot's evolving squad and how Liverpool may respond to the looming exits of key attacking figures. Photo: IMAGO With Luis Diaz reportedly close to sealing a move to Bayern Munich and Darwin Nunez expected to follow him through the exit door, the club's attacking options are under scrutiny. Eyes have naturally turned to potential replacements, and one familiar name has returned to the conversation: Rodrygo. Madrid stance opens door for movement According to the Echo AS, Real Madrid are prepared to lower their valuation of the Brazilian winger. Previously holding firm at £80 million, the Spanish giants are now said to be open to negotiating a lower fee to help facilitate Rodrygo's departure. This shift has reportedly alerted several European clubs, including Liverpool, who have a long-standing interest in the player. Photo: IMAGO Rodrygo's situation in Madrid has become increasingly uncertain. The 24-year-old was handed a limited role during the Club World Cup and is reportedly not in Xabi Alonso's plans moving forward. This potential availability presents an opportunity that Liverpool may find hard to ignore. Rodrygo link not new to Anfield Liverpool were close to securing Rodrygo's services before he moved to Spain in 2019. That admiration has lingered. While no formal offer has been made yet, the combination of reduced cost and the player's technical fit for Liverpool's system could make him an attractive option in the post-Diaz era. Photo: IMAGO Rodrygo's versatility, work rate and experience at the elite level match the profile Liverpool tend to favour. The Echo notes that, while Liverpool's interest is yet to be defined as concrete, the shift in Madrid's stance could trigger movement, especially if further funds are generated through outgoing transfers. Slot's attack could use fresh spark With Arne Slot placing emphasis on fluid attacking transitions and intelligent movement in the final third, a player of Rodrygo's profile could be a valuable asset. He has shown at Real Madrid that he can play across the front three, maintain width or tuck inside, and press aggressively from the front all traits that would fit the Dutchman's vision for Liverpool. Photo IMAGO Transfer decisions gathering pace Much of Liverpool's transfer strategy this summer has been about timing. Patience has been key as they wait to navigate a market increasingly driven by inflated valuations and tight FFP margins. But if Rodrygo truly is on the market at a reduced price, Liverpool may look to strike, particularly if they find themselves with a shortfall of wide options come August. Our View – Anfield Index Analysis Rodrygo is no speculative gamble. He has Champions League pedigree, La Liga experience, and is entering his peak years. If Real Madrid are genuinely lowering their asking price, Liverpool would be foolish not to make serious enquiries. With Diaz's departure reportedly agreed and Nunez's future hanging in the balance, a wide forward of Rodrygo's class would inject real excitement into the rebuild under Slot. There are still questions. Can he adapt quickly to the demands of English football? Would he accept a role in a system that asks more of its wide players off the ball? But in terms of potential and proven quality, Rodrygo ticks more boxes than most. This deal, if it happens, would be a statement that Liverpool are not just looking to replace, they are looking to evolve. And with the clock ticking down to the new season, a move of this calibre could be the catalyst for a thrilling new chapter at Anfield.

Intensity – Chivu Overhauls Inter Milan Athletic Preparation Work From Inzaghi Era

Cristian Chivu is overhauling the athletic preparation at Inter Milan from the Simone Inzaghi, focusing on greater intensity. Today's print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, report that the Romanian is demanding more, longer, and higher-intensity sessions. Cristian Chivu is taking charge of his first preseason at Inter Milan. The players all arrived back in training this weekend. And the first order of business for the 44-year-old coach is to get the players into physical shape. And already, reports the Gazzetta, the differences are very evident compared to in the last few seasons under Simone Inzaghi. The newspaper note that the intensity is considerably higher with Chivu and his athletic coach Stefano Rapetti. Chivu Ratchets Up The Intensity In Training At Inter From Inzaghi Era CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA – JUNE 30: Alessandro Bastoni #95 and Nicolo Barella #23 of FC Internazionale Milano warm up prior to the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 round of 16 match between FC Internazionale Milano and Fluminense FC at Bank of America Stadium on June 30, 2025 in Charlotte, North Carolina. (Photo by) According to the Gazzetta, the training sessions are more frequent under Chivu than Inzaghi. Furthermore, the Romanian has increased the length of the sessions. They now run around ninety minutes, the length of a match. Under Inzaghi, the training sessions tended to run around an hour. Furthermore, Chivu has the players in the gym more. Strength training is something the new coach sees as essential for preventing muscle injuries. Ultimately, Chivu's goal is to have the players at a higher athletic level than in the past. The 44-year-old is keen to have fewer drop-offs in intensity in the second halves of matches than Inter have in recent seasons. Furthermore, the Gazzetta note, Chivu also want to switch to a 3-4-2-1 formation. And with three strikers or attacking midfielders on the pitch, there will be a greater need than ever for the entire team to cover a lot of ground and support the attack.
