
UP CM inspects progress of National Centre of Aging in Varanasi
Varanasi: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday evening offered prayers at Kashi Vishwanath and Kaal Bhairav temples before inspecting the progress in the construction of the country's third National Centre of Aging being built at Banaras Hindu University.After holding a review meeting at the Circuit House, Yogi started inspecting the progress of ongoing development projects.

During the inspection of the National Centre for Aging being constructed on the BHU campus at a cost of Rs 147.39 crores and the new building of the Critical Care Centre at the Trauma Center at a cost of Rs 119.47 crores, he directed engineers of the executing agencies to complete the work with quality according to standards within the stipulated time.Notably, the country's third
being constructed at IMS BHU will provide treatment facilities for the elderly under one roof.
The centre is being built in the vacant space near the super specialty Block, petrol pump and nursing hostel on the BHU campus. So far, such centers are operational at AIIMS Delhi and Madras Medical College. The third centre in the country is being built at BHU.The BHU hospital and trauma centre receive over 8,000 patients daily, with more than 1,500 being over 60 years of age (both male and female).
Under the national programme for healthcare of the elderly, the six-story centre will have 200 beds for elderly patients. Similarly, the construction of a 150-bed critical care unit at the
, costing Rs 119.74 crores, is being carried out on a war-footing.
The unit, being built near the OPD block in the trauma centre complex, will have three modular operation theatres.Additionally, all facilities like ICU will be available here. Furthermore, a 40-bed burn ward will also be constructed. This ward will greatly facilitate the treatment of burn victims in incidents such as fires.Prior to visiting BHU, Yogi offered prayers at the sanctum sanctorum of KV temple with Shodashopchar method and later reached Kaal Bhairav to seek blessings.

Before boarding his vehicle upon coming out of Kaal Bhairav Temple, Yogi noticed some children. He called them and inquired about their studies. The children were overjoyed to receive chocolates from Yogi, who also talked to a child busy making lassi at a shop. Yogi asked about his well-being and studies and gave him a chocolate, encouraging him to study diligently. Yogi also inquired about the well-being of the people sitting at the shop.

Renalyx Health Systems to invest Rs 800 cr for setting up 3 dialysis machine production units
Mumbai: Bengaluru-headquartered Renalyx Health Systems on Wednesday said it is planning to invest Rs 800 crore in the next four years to set up three manufacturing units to produce RENALYX - RxT 21 machine that will help dialysis affordable and accessible to a larger population. RENALYX - RxT 21 machine is world's first fully indigenous, AI and cloud-enabled smart hemodialysis machine with real-time remote monitoring and clinical connectivity facility, the company said. Currently, the company manufactures RxT 17 through contract manufacturing and with the launch of RxT 21, it will set up its own facilities at Bengaluru and Mysuru in Karnataka and at Mumbai in Maharashtra, Renalyx Health Systems Founder and Director Shyam Vasudeva Rao told PTI. This is expected to raise the manpower of the company to over 500 people in 1-2 years from the current 100, he added. "RxT 21 makes Renalyx the sixth company globally and first in India to produce an advanced dialysis machine with EU CE certification, a mandatory conformity marking for products sold within the European Economic Area (EEA). We are aiming for an annual capacity of 5,000 machines in the company-owned manufacturing units," he added. The Indian CDSCO (Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation) approval of the machine is in its final stages and is expected by July this year, while the US FDA approval process is underway and anticipated by March 2026, he said. When asked how the company is planning to raise Rs 800 crore for setting up the manufacturing units, Rao said, the company will get it through a mix of foreign direct investment (FDIs), equity and debt. "The company plans to raise funds through the sale of equity, backed by strong interest from prominent Indian and international investors. In addition, it will raise debt, and the promoters will also invest capital. We are also planning to go public within the next three years," he added. Renalyx Health Systems is a technology innovation company which is focused on delivering inclusive solutions for comprehensive renal care. With initial deployments of the machine planned in Maharashtra and Karnataka, the company will go for rapid pan-India distribution of RxT 21 with its partners as well as exports to other countries. Rao said the company has penetrated international markets, and has secured orders from South Africa, the USA, and Europe. In India, Renalyx plans to install RxT 21 at primary health centres (PHC), community health centres (CHC), private dialysis centres and hospitals to make renal care available to a large number of people. Bihar govt increases scheme sanction limit of mukhiyas, hikes allowances of PRI functionaries
The Nitish Kumar-led NDA government on Thursday announced that mukhiyas (village heads) can now sanction schemes up to Rs 10 lakh on their own under the MGNREGA without taking any administrative approval. Till now, a mukhiya was allowed to sanction schemes up to Rs 5 lakh under the MGNREGA. Know about the first medical college of Gujarat – BJ Medical College, Ahmedabad
BJ Medical College, Ahmedabad, is a government medical college under the Health and Family Welfare Department of the state government. Located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, it is the oldest medical college in Gujarat and among the oldest in the country. It was established in 1871 as Ahmedabad Medical School. Gujarat's Cancer and Research Institute is the top medical college in the state and was ranked in the 45th rank in NIRF 2024 medical college rankings and was placed in 41st position in the NIRF 2023 medical college rankings. The Gujarat Cancer and Research Institute was ranked at the 37th rank in NIRF 2022 but slipped to 41st rank in NIRF 2023 medical rankings and 45th in 2024. The admission to BJ Medical College Ahmedabad will be through 85 per cent state quota seats against the NEET UG 2025 counselling and will be conducted by the Gujarat state authorities for admission to the college. The Admission Committee for Professional Under Graduate Medical Courses (ACPUGMEC) is the administering body for NEET UG 2025 counselling in Gujarat.
