Over 400 teams Participate In 18th Malaysia FIRA Roboworld Cup
JASIN, June 22 (Bernama) -- A total of 1,613 participants from 439 teams are taking part in the 18th Malaysia FIRA Roboworld Cup 2025 running from June 21 to 26 at Politeknik Merlimau Melaka (PMM) here.
Department of Polytechnic and Community College Education (JPPKK) Deputy Director-General (Planning) Dr Shamsuri Abdullah said the championship involves 124 institutions nationwide, including 64 polytechnics and community colleges (POLYCC), 12 public and private higher education institutions, as well as 48 school-level entries.
'This event is the best platform to highlight creative solutions through high-impact robotic innovation projects and it shows our efforts in shaping a generation of creators rather than mere users of technology.

PUTRAJAYA, June 22 (Bernama) -- Coooperatives have been urged to implement digitalisation initiatives immediately and make full use of modern technology to ensure they remain competitive. Cooperatives Commission of Malaysia chairman Datuk Ahmad Norihan Jalal said the current business environment in Malaysia was challenging and required cooperatives to use technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT). Ahmad Norihan said digitalisation would speed up various process in cooperatives, from internal administration to e-commerce, and will not only boost efficiency but open up more job opportunities. 'Digital transformation in cooperatives must be seen as a long term investment. AI, IoT and digital systems aren't new things,' he added. Ahmad Norihan praised Koop Sahabat for launching an AI-based virtual support system, YATI, that was capable of giving immediate feedback and speed up access for its members, stating that the cooperative was brave in being innovative. Meanwhile Koop Sahabat chairman Mohd Najib Mohd Noor announced a dividend of 10 per cent for the 2024 financial year involving a total of RM10.5 million for 449,848 members. 'Our revenue was rather high with a profit of RM37 million, about a 140 per cent rise from the previous year,' he said, adding that the Ar-Rahnu business was the highest contributor to the cooperative's revenue, followed by investments in real estate and housing projects. -- BERNAMA

KUALA LUMPUR, June 22 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's young rider Muhammad Hakim Danish Ramli had to settle for second place after being overtaken at the last moment in Race Two of Round Four of the 2025 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup (RBMRC) at the Mugello Circuit in Florence, Italy today. Muhammad Hakim, better known as Hakim Danish, started from fifth on the grid and endured a tough race before being edged out by just 0.011 seconds by Indonesian rider Veda Pratama, who won the race with a time of 26 minutes 44.347 seconds. Third place went to Benat Fernandez of Spain.
