Delhi CM Rekha Gupta attends 36th Rath Yatra at Shree Mahaveer Digambar Jain Mandir
New Delhi [India], May 11 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta attended the 36th Rath Yatra at Shree Mahaveer Digambar Jain Mandir in Pitampura on Sunday.
Earlier, the CM met the Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh and other health superintendents at the secretariat to review preparedness for any 'emergency'.
The meeting was held on Friday. Speaking to the media after the meeting, CM Gupta emphasised that the Government hospitals in the national capital are prepared.
'Our government hospitals are all prepared for any situation. We have invited all the MDS and taken updates. A probe into updating on any shortage of staff or medicines is being done. The patients coming in will be treated through the Ayushman Bharat Scheme and the Ayushman Vyay Vandana Scheme. The administration, doctors and hospitals must be ready,' she said.
On April 28, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) Vice Chairman Kuljeet Singh Chahal said that the Vay Vandan Yojana, which fulfils a promise made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will provide health benefits worth up to Rs 10 lakh to each eligible beneficiary.
While speaking to ANI, Chahal said, 'PM Narendra Modi had promised Delhi to give benefits of the Ayushman Yojana... The Vay Vandan Yojana, which will provide a benefit worth Rs 10 lakh to each beneficiary, is set to be implemented starting today... The Delhi government had allocated a budget of Rs 2140 crores for this scheme.'
Under the program, every senior citizen aged 70 and above will be eligible for comprehensive health coverage.
Earlier on Thursday, Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar held meeting with Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta at the Delhi Secretariat to discuss key issues such as water supply, land, DDA, road development, traffic congestion, and other important infrastructure challenges facing by the national capital.
After the meeting, Khattar said that the national capital has been facing many problems which is been pending for 15 to 20 years due to the failures of past governments. He also praised Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and stated that ever since Rekha Gupta became Chief Minister, the whole cabinet has been working together to solve these issues. (ANI)

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated the newly-constructed Dhanuka Waiting Area at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, on Wednesday. The facility has been developed under a CSR initiative by Dhanuka Group, a leading agro-product Gupta also participated in a hawan and pooja ceremony as part of the inauguration. "Taking full care of patients," Bengaluru's Bowring and Lady Curzon hospital administers to 11 injured in stadium stampede
Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], June 5 (ANI): In the wake of the stampede at M Chinnaswamy Stadium that claimed 11 lives and injured 33 others, Medical authorities at Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital reported receiving six bodies and 18 injured on the day of the incident. Speaking to the media, Medical superintendent Dr T. Kemparaju said, 'After the stampede, we received 18 injured persons and six bodies. Out of the 18 injured persons, eight received treatment and went home, and the remaining 10 patients were admitted to the hospital for observation. Among the 10 persons admitted to the hospital, three sustained fractures in the legs. We have received instructions to take full care of the patients.' Meanwhile, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident. The tragedy unfolded when thousands of fans overwhelmed the stadium area during Royal Challengers Bangalore's IPL victory celebration. Karnataka Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara confirmed that the state government had no role in organising the event. 'We did not request RCB or the KCA, they organised it (the victory celebration). They are the ones who brought the team to Bengaluru. The government also felt it should facilitate this, as it was the Bengaluru team. I feel very sorry that this incident happened,' Parameshwara said after inspecting the site. CM Siddaramaiah, addressing the media, said, '11 died and 33 were injured in the stampede. This tragedy should not have happened. The government expresses deep sorrow over this incident.' He announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for the families of the deceased and assured that all the injured will receive free medical treatment. 'I have ordered a magisterial inquiry and given 15 days. People even broke the gates of the stadium. There was a stampede. No one expected such a huge crowd. The stadium has a capacity of only 35,000 people, but 2-3 lakh people came,' the Chief Minister said, underlining the scale of the crowd and security strain. The Home Minister will convene a meeting with Bengaluru Police Commissioner, senior police officials, DCPs, and Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) representatives at the stadium on Thursday to review crowd management lapses. "She Was Writhing In Pain": Girl Dies, Family Accuses Hospital Of Lapses
A teenager who fell unconscious allegedly due to loud DJ music died hours later in Bihar. The 15-year-old, who was suffering from a heart disease, was rushed by her family to a hospital where she died. The family of Pinky Kumari - from Rasidpur village - has accused the doctors of delay in treatment and complained to the police. They said they had to wait for an hour at the hospital for treatment while the girl was writhing in pain. Around 11 pm on Wednesday, a wedding ritual was underway in the neighbouring house where DJ music was being played at a high volume. The neighbours allegedly took out a procession of sorts with the DJ, and the girl went out to see it and suddenly fainted. After this, the family took her to Sadar Hospital on a bike. The girl's father, a rickshaw puller, said that only formalities were done in the name of treatment in the hospital. He alleged that the girl died due to the negligence of the doctors. The girl's uncle, Motilal Sah, accused doctor Ashish Kumar of negligence. He said that the treatment started about an hour after they reached the hospital. During this time, the girl kept writhing in pain, but no one treated her, he said. He said that they have complained at the local police station. Her family has demanded that the administration scan the CCTV footage of the hospital and take action against the negligent doctor and other employees. The angry family members also raised slogans against the hospital administration. Soon, locals joined them in large numbers. They demanded strict action against the accused doctors. On receiving the information of the incident, Nagar Parishad Chairman Rajan Nandan Singh also reached the spot. He said, "This is clearly a case of negligence of the doctor and the hospital," adding that he will meet the District Officer and apply for action against the concerned officers and doctors. Soon after, the police team reached the hospital and pacified the people protesting against the hospital administration. The uncle said that Pinky was suffering from a heart disease and she was also treated at the Pant Hospital in Delhi. Her father, Pramod used to arrange for medicines worth about Rs 1500 every week by driving a rickshaw, he said.
