Microsoft's AI Browser Is Here: Copilot Mode Is The AI Agent For All Your Tasks
Microsoft's AI agents are now making their way to the Edge browser in the form of Copilot mode which is being pilot tested in an experimental phase starting this week. You've heard a lot about AI agents in the past few months so it was obvious that Microsoft will have its own version for the web browser Edge and its users.
The new mode is being built into the Edge browser that can handle tasks like organise content across all the tabs, and take help of AI to let you book restaurants or even plan a trip.
Microsoft Edge AI Agent On Browser: How It Works
We've seen AI agents take over web browsers, something that both Chrome with Gemini and Comet with Perplexity AI offer for users. Now, Copilot Mode is integrating some form of GPT with Edge browser to give people more reasons to try out the new-gen Edge browser that comes by default on Windows PCs.
The company is also working on its own Vision with Copilot where it will seek your permission to use the camera on the PC or other devices as well as access your web history to screen through tasks in a personalised way. More importantly, the AI agent with Copilot will get voice navigation support so that you don't need to type the prompt and just tell the command with your voice.
Using the new AI version in Edge is easy. Just open the web browser on your PC and you will be greeted on the screen, asking, 'How can I help you today?
Google has shown us the power of AI which is now enabled in Search for millions of users with the AI Mode. Microsoft is doing its Copilot Mode version in the same manner. Speaking of AI, OpenAI has a ChatGPT 5 version launching soon in the market and the early signs have brought about some concerns from none other than Sam Altman, the chief of the ChatGPT maker. He has been quoted saying some worrying things about the upcoming AI chatbot version, which he says, 'feels very fast," than the previous iterations.
Altman was speaking in a podcast recently, where he decided to tease the world with these concerning details and not sharing the actual technical bits about the ChatGPT 5 model and what features people can expect to roll out.

Remove Ads Designed for safety and sustainability, not just luxury FAQs A $645 million superyacht named "Breakthrough" is now for sale. It's 390 feet long and is being sold by yacht broker Edmiston. The yacht is widely linked to Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, but reports say he never actually used Edmiston, CEO of Edmiston, called it 'the most extraordinary yacht ever built… the one that will change it all.' The yacht is the world's first hydrogen fuel-cell powered superyacht, which makes it super eco-friendly and also known as 'Project 821' and was built by Feadship, a famous Dutch shipyard, over five years. Brad Hall, CEO of online yacht site Yachtlify, called it a 'modern engineering marvel.' Heigo Paartalu, CEO of YachtWay, said it's the only privately owned hydrogen-powered vessel in the explained that building a hydrogen yacht is extremely complex because any hydrogen leak can be dangerous, and very few shipyards in the world can do it. WinZO disputes Google's CCI proposal on Play Store rules
Bengaluru: Real‑money gaming platform WinZO has raised concerns over Google's latest proposal to the Competition Commission of India (CCI), arguing that it does not adequately address the anti‑competitive issues flagged in an ongoing investigation. The case originates from WinZO's December 2022 complaint alleging that Google abused its dominant position by restricting Play Store access to only fantasy sports and rummy apps while excluding other real‑money gaming categories. With Google controlling 96% of India's app distribution market, WinZO said this policy inflated user acquisition costs by 'at least 10x' for apps distributed outside the Play Store. Acting on the complaint, the CCI in November 2024 ordered a formal investigation, citing prima facie violations of competition law, including the imposition of unfair conditions, denial of market access and limiting of market development. The Commission had noted Google's lack of clear criteria for its pilot programme, inconsistent enforcement of its ads policy and 'misleading payment warnings' shown to users sideloading apps, which it said artificially deterred usage. In a public notice issued recently the CCI invited comments on Google's commitment offer. Google's proposal includes allowing all real‑money games that are certified by recognised third‑party bodies, replacing its pilot programme for fantasy sports and rummy apps and permitting certified skill‑based games to advertise on Google Ads. If approved, Google has committed to implement the Play Store changes within 120 days and its advertising changes within 150 days of the CCI's order. The deadline for public comments is August 20, 2025. Responding to WinZO's objections, a Google spokesperson said the company welcomed the CCI's market testing of its proposed framework, describing it as the result of 'constructive discussions' with the regulator and Indian developers. Google added that it is confident the proposal will create 'a more open and safe ecosystem' for real‑money gaming apps, empower local developers and prioritise user safety. In its statement, WinZO said Google's commitments 'must be robust and genuinely eliminate the discriminatory practices identified,' adding that the proposed framework's reference to 'developing' a commercial model for real‑money gaming lacked clear timelines or objective criteria. WinZO, which reported a 70% rise in revenue to Rs 1,055 crore and a 151% increase in profit to Rs 315 crore in FY24, said it will continue to participate in the consultation process 'to ensure fairness, transparency and a level playing field in India's digital economy.' Jury orders Tesla to pay more than USD 200 million in Autopilot crash case
Last Updated: Miami, Aug 1 (AP) A Miami jury decided that Elon Musk's car company Tesla was partly responsible for a deadly crash in Florida involving its Autopilot driver assist technology and must pay the victims more than USD 200 million in punitive damages. The federal jury held that Tesla bore significant responsibility because its technology failed and that not all the blame can be put on a reckless driver, even one who admitted he was distracted by his cell phone before hitting a young couple out gazing at the stars. The decision comes as Musk seeks to convince Americans his cars are safe enough to drive on their own as he plans to roll out a driverless taxi service in several cities in the coming months. The decision ends a four-year long case remarkable not just in its outcome but that it even made it to trial. Many similar cases against Tesla have been dismissed and, when that didn't happen, settled by the company to avoid the spotlight of a trial. 'This will open the floodgates," said Miguel Custodio, a car crash lawyer not involved in the Tesla case. 'It will embolden a lot of people to come to court." The case also included startling charges by lawyers for the family of the deceased, 22-year-old, Naibel Benavides Leon, and for her injured boyfriend, Dillon Angulo. They claimed Tesla either hid or lost key evidence, including data and video recorded seconds before the accident. Tesla has previously faced criticism that it is slow to cough up crucial data by relatives of other victims in Tesla crashes, accusations that the car company has denied. In this case, the plaintiffs showed Tesla had the evidence all along, despite its repeated denials, by hiring a forensic data expert who dug it up. Tesla said it made a mistake after being shown the evidence and honestly hadn't thought it was there. It's not clear how much of a hit to Tesla's reputation for safety the verdict in the Miami case will make. Tesla has vastly improved its technology since the crash on a dark, rural road in Key Largo, Florida, in 2019.
