Sam's Club memberships are as low as $20 for a short time
As the world has been figuring out the new retail landscape, we've been investigating warehouse stores like Costco and Sam's Club as your electronics alternative. Well, as it so happens, Sam's Club is in the middle of Member's Mark Month. Now through June 16, when you sign up for a Sam's Club Membership you can get a special rate. A Sam's Club member at the 'Club' tier now costs only $20 instead of the usual $50, a savings of $30, and a Sam's Club Plus membership costs $60 instead of the usual $110, saving you $50. Of course, it needs to be a new Sam's Club membership or (at the very least) you couldn't be have not been one for 6 months to qualify for the offer. If you're intrigued, be sure to tap the button below and sign up. Alternatively, keep reading to see which membership is best for you, how the memberships can pay for themselves, and what you should buy at Sam's Club to make it all worth your while. Why you should get a Sam's Club membership While there are plenty of perks to a Sam's Club membership, if we're talking discounts, lets also talk money. What is a warehouse membership, anyhow? To reiterate on a point that we've stated over and over again, you pay for a membership and gain discounts and services. In theory, and hopefully in practice, this means that the membership could pay for itself. This membership deal makes it easier to tip the balance in your favor. Consider it your opportunity to weather the trade war — whether you continue with the membership afterwards is up to you, after all. So, here's the value: We did a lengthy look at the perks and discounts Sam's Club (and Costco) can give you. As before, the Plus tier membership gives you the most benefits, and we zeroed in on just three (of many) to examine what you'll get. Of these, the most critical is the 2% back you get on purchases. That's $2 back to you per $100 spent, or $3,000 for the full $60 your membership costs. If you think you spend anywhere close to $3,000 per year on electronics and other Sam's Club buys, then you can benefit from this membership. Remember, this isn't the only perk you'll get (again, check out our guides for extended coverage) so there will be plenty of chances to turn the whole affair into a savings machine for you and your family. If you're having trouble thinking about what you may buy, check out our warehouse store electronics shopping guide for ideas on what you should buy (and what you should skip entirely) at these stores. Right now you can get a Sam's Club 'Club' membership or 'Plus' membership for just $20 and $60, respectively. That's a savings of $30 or $50 off of the usual prices of $50 and $110, but those savings are only yours now through June 16, so be sure to sign up and start saving now.

Trump pushes a July 4th deadline for big tax bill as senators dig in
WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump wants his 'big, beautiful' bill of tax breaks and spending cuts on his desk to be signed into law by the Fourth of July, and he's pushing the slow-rolling Senate to make it happen sooner rather than later. Trump met with Senate Majority Leader John Thune at the White House early this week and has been dialing senators for one-on-one chats, using both the carrot and stick to nudge, badger and encourage them to act. But it's still a long road ahead for the 1,000-page-plus package .

Mateo Kovacic issues nine-word statement following surgery setback and Manchester City absence
Manchester City's Mateo Kovacic has spoken for the first time on social media since the club confirmed the midfielder had undergone surgery on an Achilles injury. A statement issued by the club on Monday morning confirmed that the Croatia international would be absent from the club's upcoming FIFA Club World Cup campaign, with the understanding from the side of his national team being a three-month absence. Advertisement 'Manchester City can confirm that Mateo Kovacic has undergone surgery on an Achilles injury,' a statement issued from the Etihad Stadium read this week. 'The Croatian midfielder is now set to miss the FIFA Club World Cup as City head to the USA in June,' Manchester City added. 'Mateo will spend the summer rehabilitating from the operation and everyone at the Club wishes him a speedy recovery.' Speaking earlier on during the ongoing international break, Croatia manager Zlatko Dalić told a press conference on Kovacic, 'He had an injury and missed the [FA] Cup final. He thought rest would help, but it didn't. Advertisement 'Pain and swelling appeared, concerning the heel tendon. The Club decided he must undergo surgery. The recovery is expected to take about three months.' Now, having undergone surgery and made his first strides into a rehabilitation process alongside instruction from Manchester City, Mateo Kovacic has addressed supporters of both his club and country on Instagram. Accompanying a photo of himself emerging following surgery around an Achilles problem in his left foot, Kovacic wrote on social media, 'Surgery went well. Now patience, hard work, and faith.' Instagram: mateokovacic8 Manchester City are expecting to welcome midfield reinforcements in time for the start of the FIFA Club World Cup and the close of the mini-summer transfer window introduced to allow teams to make signings ahead of the tournament. Advertisement Operating in a similar role to Kovacic, there is confidence within the Etihad Stadium that Tijjani Reijnders will arrive on a long-term contract from AC Milan, while the club are continuing in their pursuit of Lyon's Rayan Cherki. The latter is viewed as a direct replacement for Kevin De Bruyne, after Manchester City bosses took the difficult decision of not renewing the Belgian's expiring contract, as such paving the way for him to complete a free transfer move to Serie A Champions Napoli in the coming days.
