Hind Rajab Foundation pursues 'Israeli' soldiers at Belgium music festival

Roya Newsa day ago
The Brussels-based Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF), in collaboration with the Global Legal Action Network (GLAN), has filed urgent legal complaints with the Belgian Federal Prosecutor, demanding the immediate arrest and prosecution of two 'Israeli' soldiers attending the Tomorrowland music festival.
The foundation says these individuals are implicated in grave international crimes, including war crimes and genocide, committed during 'Israel's' ongoing aggression against the Gaza Strip, leveraging Belgium's universal jurisdiction laws.
The HRF's action was prompted by the alleged presence of young 'Israeli' soldiers at Tomorrowland waving the flag of the 'Israeli' Givati Brigade, a unit the HRF says is "extensively documented for its role in the systematic destruction of civilian infrastructure in Gaza and for carrying out mass atrocities against the Palestinian population".
The foundation asserts that the Givati flag has become a "symbol of impunity, destruction, and ethnic cleansing".
The individuals are accused of direct involvement in crimes such as indiscriminate attacks on civilian areas, use of torture and human shields, mass arbitrary detention, forced displacement, and deliberate infliction of conditions calculated to destroy the Palestinian population.
The Hind Rajab Foundation, established in September 2024 and named after a five-year-old Palestinian girl killed in Gaza, aims to challenge 'Israeli' impunity for alleged war crimes.
Co-founded by Dyab Abou Jahjah, the HRF employs open-source intelligence (OSINT) to monitor social media posts by 'Israeli' soldiers for evidence of criminal activity, then files cases when subjects enter countries with universal jurisdiction.
This strategy has led to reported instances of 'Israeli' soldiers fleeing countries like Brazil and Argentina to evade arrest, and an 'Israeli' cabinet minister canceling a visit to Belgium due to arrest risks.
The 'Israeli' Foreign Ministry is aware of 28 such claims in eight countries, many attributed to HRF.
While 'Israeli' officials publicly downplay the threat, the military has implemented new rules to protect troops' privacy and warned against social media posts that could lead to legal action abroad.

Iran reveals it replaced air defenses after 'Israel' war

Iran has replaced air defense systems damaged during 'Israeli' strikes in June, the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reported Sunday, citing a military official. 'Israel' launched an unprecedented attack on Iran on June 13, with the stated goal of preventing Tehran from acquiring a nuclear weapon, an ambition Iran denies, asserting its right to civilian nuclear energy. During the 12-day conflict, 'Israel' primarily targeted nuclear and military facilities. Senior military officials and scientists involved in Iran's nuclear program were killed in these strikes. IRNA quoted Rear Admiral Mahmoud Mousavi, Deputy Head of Operations for the Iranian Army, as saying, "The Zionist enemy tried to destroy Iran's defensive capabilities, and some of our defense systems were damaged in this war. However, the damaged systems have been replaced with new ones through the efforts of our armed forces and have been deployed to pre-determined locations." The report did not specify the type of equipment or when the replacements occurred. Iran's air defense capabilities include domestically produced systems like Bavar-373 and Khordad-15, designed to counter missiles and aircraft. Iran also received Russia's S-300 system in 2016, following the 2015 nuclear agreement signed in Vienna with major powers (France, Britain, Germany, China, Russia, and the United States). A ceasefire went into effect on June 24, following 12 days of conflict during which Iran responded with missile and drone launches against 'Israel'. Local authorities reported over a thousand casualties in Iran due to the 'Israeli' strikes, while the 'Israeli' government announced at least 28 deaths in Israel. On June 22, the United States struck Iran's underground uranium enrichment site in Fordow, south of Tehran, and two nuclear facilities in Isfahan and Natanz (central Iran). The full extent of the damage inflicted by these bombardments remains unclear. Iran and the United States had conducted five rounds of nuclear negotiations, mediated by Oman, since April, prior to 'Israel's' military campaign. Talks between Tehran and Washington have since halted, with 'Israel's' attack occurring two days before a scheduled sixth round of discussions.

'Israel' says struck Yemen's Hodeidah Port

'Israeli' Defence Minister Israel Katz said the military on Monday struck "terror targets" belonging to the Houthis at the Yemeni port of Hodeida. The 'Israeli' military "has just struck terror targets of the Huthi terror regime at the port of Hodeida and is forcefully enforcing the prevention of any attempt to restore the previously attacked terror infrastructure," Katz said in a statement. 'The rule for Yemen is the same as the rule of Tehran,' Katz added. In a separate statement, the army claimed that "among the military infrastructure struck were engineering vehicles... fuel containers, naval vessels used for military activities and force against the State of Israel and vessels in the maritime zone adjacent to the port, and additional terror infrastructure used by the Houthi terrorist regime." A Houthi security official said "the bombing destroyed the port's dock, which had been rebuilt following previous strikes," in a statement carried by AFP.

UN Warns of Consequences of Israeli Evacuation Order in Central Gaza - Jordan News

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) stated on Sunday that the military order issued by Israel directing residents and displaced persons in the Deir al-Balah area of Gaza to evacuate southward deals a 'crippling blow' to humanitarian efforts in the war-ravaged enclave. اضافة اعلان In a statement, the office warned that 'the mass displacement order issued today by the Israeli military delivers yet another severe blow to the already fragile lifeline keeping people alive across the Gaza Strip.' Hunger and malnutrition have reached unprecedented levels in Gaza, with the UN confirming that tens of thousands of children and women are in urgent need of treatment, while only limited humanitarian aid is entering the Strip due to Israeli restrictions. Gaza's Civil Defense reported a growing number of infant deaths due to acute hunger and malnutrition, confirming that at least three children died over the past week. (Al-Mamlaka)
