Bryan Mbeumo excited to follow in Ronaldo's footsteps at ‘biggest club' Man Utd
Mbeumo has signed a deal until 2030, with the option of a further season, at what he calls the 'club of my dreams' – one whose shirt he wore as a kid growing up in France.

'For me, it's the biggest club in the world, in England as well. I think the fans are crazy, the stadium is amazing, and I think every player wants to play here.
'I think my first top was a Manchester United top with Ronaldo behind. It's just such a big club and, yeah, I'm really happy to be here.'
Mbeumo says he idolised Ronaldo and Lionel Messi growing up, as well as admiring Neymar and Eden Hazard, and joins Matheus Cunha in bolstering what has been a blunt United attack.
The forward says the Brazil international will 'bring something new' to a team that he is excited to get to know better when they head to the United States for their pre-season tour on Tuesday.
'I think it's really important for me joining a new club,' Mbeumo said. 'It's important to create links as soon as possible, automatism as well with the team-mates, so in and out the pitch.
'The spirit is really important. Yeah, create a group, being involved as soon as possible, for me, it's something really important.'

Mbeumo links up with United after scoring 20 Premier League goals for Brentford under Thomas Frank, who has since moved on to Tottenham and is someone he sees similarly to new boss Ruben Amorim.
'I think they have similar values,' he said. 'He seems really close to his players and his mentality, his winning thinking every time. This is a thing that I need.
'It seems to be a really good group. I think the spirit is really important for winning and, yeah, with the gaffer I heard only good things about the team.'

Former Manchester United player Brandon Williams, who was sentenced for dangerous driving, has made his first appearance in 19 months. The full-back came on as a substitute for Hull City, where he is on trial, during their 2-1 friendly win over Sunderland on Tuesday night. 'It hurts me watching football now because I just want to be there, I just want to play. I miss being in a team, on the coach, travelling to games, having meals together and just doing things,' he said. 'I want to have that feeling again of winning and being around the changing room environment. 'I've had loads of teams trying to get me out - America, Europe and England - but I haven't been ready. I want to go somewhere 100 per cent focused and kick on. 'I would like to experience that different culture. I'm only 24 so I could do three or four years abroad. Definitely Europe at a good club or an upcoming club.' Williams admitted he had been trying to show off to a female passenger who was sitting next to him, and a witness is said to have filmed him with a balloon by his mouth. Prosecutors said it was 'fortunate' nobody was seriously injured or killed. Judge Eric Lamb also banned Williams from driving for three years and ordered him to do 180 hours of unpaid work. The homegrown Man United talent announced last June that he would leave the club at the end of his contract, and when the incident took place - in August 2023 - Williams had been on loan at Ipswich Town.

'Another Nkunku' - Chelsea told they are making £61m transfer mistake
Chelsea have been urged to pull out of their deal for £61m transfer target Xavi Simons. The Blues are in advanced talks with RB Leipzig after agreeing personal terms with Netherlands attacker Simons. With Leipzig demanding around 70m euros for Simons, 22, Chelsea are currently working on player sales to raise funds for the deal. The Blues have already sold Joao Felix to Al Nassr for £43.7m and raised over £50m through the sale of Noni Madueke to Arsenal. Simons, who can play as a No. 10 or on the left wing, has made 76 appearances for Leipzig over the past two seasons and has 28 caps for Netherlands. While Chelsea pursue Simons, they have also made a bid for Ajax defender Jorrel Hato. The Netherlands star is valued at around £43m by Ajax and Norwegian football hero Fjørtoft has suggested he could be a shrewd signing.
