Brazilian giants Flamengo pounce for Irish winger Johnston

Irish Examiner5 hours ago
Irish winger Mikey Johnston is on his way to Brazil after West Bromwich Albion accepted a £5m (€5.97m) bid from Flamengo.
Express and Star are reporting that the 26-year-old won't be part of the Baggies pre-season trip to Austria after the clubs brokered a deal that earns the Championship outfit a profit on the fee paid to Celtic last year.
Johnston (26) scored three goals in 41 appearances in all competitions in his first full season at the Hawthorns.
He was rested for Ireland's June friendlies but will be expected to start the opening World Cup qualifier against Hungary on September 6 at Lansdowne Road.

Dublin v Cork live stream information, score updates, throw-in time and more

Dublin and Cork meet this afternoon in a novel All-Ireland semi-final match up with Croke Park set to be at capacity. Tickets for this one have been long snapped up with Cork fans set to outnumber those from the Capital in an enthralling match up. Coming into the year, many people expected the Rebels to go all the way. It hasn't been straight forward for Pat Ryan's side but with a League title and a Munster Championship victory under their belt they are the team to beat. Dublin, on the other hand, did not expect to find themselves here. Taking on Limerick in Croke Park a couple of weeks ago seemed like a foregone conclusion, especially when captain Chris Crummey was sent for an early shower just 15 minutes in. What transpired was possibly the biggest shock in GAA history and Dublin were worthy winners on the day. After seeing Dublin's performance, Cork won't be taking them lightly but hopefully there will be fireworks at GAA HQ. Throw-in for the game is set for 5 pm with the game available to watch on RTE Two and BBC Northern Ireland. Both the RTE Player and BBC iPlayer will stream the games. We will have live score updates of the game here on the Irish Mirror. Hello and welcome to live coverage of today's All-Ireland Hurling semi-final as Dublin take on Cork in front of a packed Croke Park. There won't be a spare seat in the house for this one with the Rebels travelling in their droves with the expectation that they'll return to the All-Ireland final for a second successive year. Standing in their way is the team that pulled off one of GAA's greatest ever upsets in Dublin, who beat Limerick with 14-men a couple of weeks ago. It has been a rollercoaster year for both sides. Dublin showed plenty of spirit in the league and in Championship to get to this point while Cork won both the league title and Munster Hurling title. Throw-in for the game is set for 5 pm and is available to watch on RTE Two and BBC Northern Ireland and can be streamed on the RTE Player and the BBC iPlayer.
