The Island of the Dolls, or La Isla de las Munecas as it's known locally, is located in the Xochimilco canals south of Mexico City.
The artificial island houses a few small huts, which are outnumbered by thousands of decaying dolls.
According to Guinness World Records, it is home to the world's largest collection of 'haunted' dolls.
It is said that the caretaker of the island, Don Julian, began building the collection after attempting to save a girl who drowned nearby.

In an attempt to ward off her spirit, Julian hung dolls from the trees.
Soon enough, he became something of a local legend, and people began bringing more dolls to add to the collection.

Ghost Island in Venice
The Ghost Island of Venice, known officially as Poveglia Island, has been largely uninhabited since the 1300s.
Since then, the island has been the site of several hospitals, which may have contributed to the island's reputation.
For over a century, the spit of land was used as a quarantine for those suffering with the plague and other diseases.
Today, it is mostly home to some abandoned buildings, which has helped earn its name as one of the most haunted spots in Italy.
Poveglia Island is not open to the public, although special permits are occasionally granted.

The forbidden island of Brazil's Ilha da Queimada Grande, or Snake Island, is one only scientists and soldiers can visit.
The location is famous for its abundance of venomous snakes - and no ordinary snakes at that.
The golden lancehead, which call this island home, is a species of pit viper found nowhere else in the world.
Experts believe the species was cut off from the mainland 11,000 years ago, and has been evolving in isolation ever since.

The abandoned Hashima Island, otherwise known as "Gunkanjima" or "Battleship Island", served as a critical wartime coal mine from the time it was purchased by Mitsubishi in 1890.
Under gruelling conditions, Korean and Chinese prisoners were forced to build towering concrete towers on the island beginning in 1916, in which workers would eventually live.
Up to 1,300 conscripted labourers died on Hashima due to underground accidents, exhaustion, and malnutrition.
After the war, its population spiked to an astonishing 5,300 people who were crammed into the 480-metre-by-160-metre accommodation.
At its peak, the island was a hub of national coal mining, along with a hospital, schools, shops, and even a temple and a shrine.
But the mines were eventually closed in 1974, leaving Hashima abandoned for 40 years to be reclaimed by nature.

An amber weather warning is in place for the majority of Scotland between 10am and 10pm on Monday. The Met Office has warned of potential travel disruption when the summer storm hits, with the Scottish Transport Secretary saying the unseasonable weather makes raising awareness even more important. Network Rail has warned of disruption to trains as a result of the weather, while cancellations to ferry services are also likely. The Met Office said gusts could reach 85mph on exposed coasts or hills north of the border. Scottish Transport Secretary Fiona Hyslop said a meeting had been held on Friday to ensure the country is ready for the storm, adding: "Given the unusual timing, and the fact some people will be on holiday, travelling or perhaps unaware, we are trying to raise even more awareness than usual of this potentially disruptive storm. "Please check with operators as we do expect rail, ferries, roads and bridges to be disrupted on Monday across the country. "This is a slightly unusual situation for August, however the message is the same as winter - plan ahead, check your journey in advance, allow extra time, and don't take any unnecessary risks. "Officials will be monitoring the situation and are ready to stand up the Multi Agency Response Team, if required. "I am grateful to those who are giving up their weekend and time off to help co-ordinate the transport sector's response. "Traffic Scotland, Police Scotland, Sepa, local authorities and others will communicate any closures to the public and provide real-time updates." Met Office issues SIX new warnings as thunderstorms, hail & flash floods to strike huge swathe of UK Scottish ferry operator CalMac has issued a series of cancellation warnings ahead of the storm. "Disruption to sailings is expected across our network on Monday August 4 due to forecasted strong winds across parts of Scotland's west coast," it posted on X. Shaun Jones, of the AA, said: "If you're planning a journey - especially through exposed or rural areas - it's worth checking the latest forecast, allow extra time, and be prepared for the unexpected. "Keep both hands on the wheel, especially on open roads and motorways, and be mindful of high-sided vehicles and cyclists who may be more affected by gusts. "Watch out for fallen branches or debris, particularly in rural areas - this could be telltale signs of a fallen tree ahead." Met Office chief meteorologist Matthew Lehnert said: "Across the warning area, many inland areas are likely to see gusts of 40-50mph, with 60-70mph more likely at higher elevations and around exposed coasts in Scotland. "There is a small chance that some locations here could even record gusts of 85mph." The strongest winds will most likely affect Scotland on Monday afternoon and night but "there remains some uncertainty in the depth and track of Floris", a spokesperson added. "Winds will first ease in the west during later Monday but remaining very strong overnight until early Tuesday in the east. "Heavy rain may also contribute to the disruption in places." The warning zone covers Scotland, parts of Northern Ireland, North Wales and the north of England. Storm Floris is the sixth named storm of the 2024-25 naming season, which runs from early September to late August, and January's Storm Eowyn was the most recent.

I stayed at the UK's best B&B on the English Riviera – here's whether it is really worth the hype
BACK in the 60s and 70s, Torbay - made up of the three seaside towns Paignton, Brixham and Torquay - was dubbed what 'the south of France is to the West of England'. Adverts and posters then named Torquay specifically as an 'international resort' and 'the Queen of the English Riviera'. 9 9 9 Today, these nicknames have stuck - with Torquay having a lot to boast about, including sprawling sandy beaches, a picturesque marina and vibrant palm trees. And now the town has even more to boast about with the UK's best B&B according to the AA 's 2025 B&B Awards. The 25 Boutique B&B is located just moments away from Torre Abbey Sands - 10 minutes' walk to be precise. With such a location, it is hardly surprising the venue earned the award. And having stayed this past weekend, I discovered exactly why so many people love The 25. Inside the B&B, I was immediately greeted by funky interiors with every colour under the sun. The welcoming entrance is enhanced by one of the B&B's hosts, who was there to greet me. Andy, alongside Julian, runs the boutique B&B, which has a choice of different bedrooms and suites to choose from - all named after local beaches. I was headed for the Shoalstone Suite, located on the ground floor and next to a decadently decorated lounge with an honesty bar. The suite itself was split into a lounge area and a bedroom, complete with an ensuite. The best B&B in the UK has been revealed In the lounge, there was a plush sofa, TV, dressing table, bistro table, kettle and Nespresso coffee machine. The suite had a navy theme throughout, and in keeping with the rest of the B&B, featured quirky elements like a swans head protruding from the wall (not real, of course). Both the TVs in the lounge and the bedroom are kitted out with all you need, such as mainstream channels, Netflix and Prime Video. However, the best thing about the lounge area was definitely the two expansive windows stretching to the ceiling allowing daylight to flood into the room. But the room - and the rest of the suite - also had great attention to detail. An Alexa meant you could control the lighting with ease and ask travel related queries like what the weather was like in the bay. Hosts Julian and Andy also add a personal touch with a small treat offering, which for my stay was mint tiffin and a small jar of sweets. As for the bedroom, this was a delight too, albeit with the slightly 2007 interiors with silver furnishings, velvet headboard and glitter feature wall. 9 9 The large bed was by far the comfiest I have ever stayed in. And for longer stays, there is ample storage such as a wardrobe and chest of drawers. Inside the wardrobe I also found another treat - the softest of dressing gowns. As far as en suites go, the Shoalstone Suite's was pretty impressive. A walk-in rainfall shower was complete with a TV screen - yes, you heard correctly. I even had a moment with Jimmy Carr in the shower (by tuning into 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown). Mood lighting helps you to change up the settings depending on your mood and the Elemis bathroom goodies added luxury to the whole bathroom experience. After an amazing night's sleep, I headed downstairs to where breakfast was served. 9 9 Guests preorder what they want the night before, making the service swift. But as you wait, you can grab items from the continental bar. I opted for some fresh orange juice and a homemade green smoothie shot while other items available include fresh yoghurt, cereals and berries. My breakfast choice was eggs royale, with a decent amount of salmon and golden oozy eggs - which were a real winner. I could see why the AA awards said the "breakfast remains a tour de force". The B&B makes a great base for exploring south Devon 's beaches and Torquay's neighbouring towns - including Paignton, Brixham, Babbacombe and Newton Abbot. And just down the road there is also the best fish and chip shop in the UK - Pier Point. 9 In the evening, I had strolled to the chippy to test it out for myself. While on the pricier side, the portions were generous, the batter was golden, and the chips were deliciously fluffy. Elsewhere in Torquay, you can explore a grand harbour with extravagant boats, a Ferris wheel with great views and a theatre that often hosts top productions. As for whether the B&B deserves the award - it is hard to say. It was a great stay with amazing hosts and thoughtful touches - but I find it hard to believe there isn't a B&B out there that tops its slightly dated decor and car-park views. The B&B is adults-only and a room can be found for £287.30 for two adults for two nights (minimum stay). Here's more about the UK's best fish and chip shop, which is conveniently located close to the B&B. Plus, just a short drive away is one of the south west's prettiest market towns, that tourists always overlook.

But she claims she was rudely interrupted by the passenger in front who decided to recline their chair. Simone told the other flyer: "This is an airplane. Please let me know where you recline on the airplane." "What part of this seat can you recline on?" she asked again. Like with most economy tickets, there was little leg room for anyone and Simone was not happy with the woman reclining into her already cramped space. In the comments, Simone claimed the passenger was also 'pushing hard and further into my leg.' "She basically wants to sit in my lap," she captioned the post. The video posted to her TikTok account @msimonexo went viral with over 285k views and 4,900 likes. "Buy extra legroom next time," penned a third. Plane etiquette IF you're planning on going away any time soon, you'll need to pay attention to the following unwritten plane etiquette rules... RECLINING SEAT: Podcast host and etiquette expert Nick Leighton explained that you shouldn't recline your seat if the passenger behind you is working on their laptop. He said: "Nobody likes their laptop snapped in half." Before you recline your seat, it's best to check to see what the passenger behind you is doing. If they are on a laptop, ask before you move your seat back. FEET: A flight attendant told The Sun: "Your boarding card tells you a number and a letter, this will be the reserved seat that you have paid for.
