Taylor Swift congratulates graduates: Star has history of sending gifts, giving speeches
Graduation is the transition from one era to the next and while Taylor Swift's in-house marketing account is posting well wishes to graduates, there was a time the singer sent one of her loyal Swifties a bouquet of calla lilies and roses.
"I have the note framed on a shelf next to a photo of me and Taylor," Ashley Silvers tells the USA TODAY Network.
In 2017, months before the release of "Reputation," the University of Central Florida student sent pictures and a graduation invite to the songwriter's fan mail address.
"On the day of my graduation party, flowers were delivered to my house and they were the size of my door," Silvers says.
The note included a sketch of the New York City skyline where Silvers was heading for grad school and partly read, "Hi love! I'm so sad that I can't make it to your graduation party. ... I'm so proud of you, your hard work and dedication, your excitement and ambition. I'm very lucky that a girl like you cares about me."
The advertising and public relations graduate will never forget the superstar's generosity.
'Remember this moment'
Although all has been quiet on the Swift front, her in-house marketing team, Taylor Nation, has been celebrating graduates on X.

In the past weeks, the account has sent out pictures of Swifties decorating their caps with lyrics from "Long Live," posing on university steps and saying, "Taylor's speech has been my anchor through the toughest times."
Her team celebrated the three-year anniversary of Swift earning her honorary doctorate at New York University.
"congraTS to the class of 2025 grads," Taylor Nation tweeted intentionally capitalizing the singer's initials. "In the words of Honorary Doctor Swift: 'We are led by our gut instincts, our intuitions, our desires and fears, our scars and our dreams. And you will screw it up sometimes. So will I… We will recover. We will learn from it. We will grow more resilient because of it."

One of Swift's backup singers, Kamilah Marshall, celebrated earning an online degree from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, even while traveling for two years with the Eras Tour.
Silvers says one quote from Swift that has stuck with her since getting her diploma that she hopes all college graduates will reflect on and remember is, "No matter what happens in life, be good to people, being good to people is a wonderful legacy to leave behind."

Xavier Worthy reacts to Taylor Swift's viral NFL draft reaction: 'That's crazy'

Taylor Swift, NFL draft scout? While most of the attention surrounding Swift's appearance on the "New Heights" podcast was focused on her relationship with Travis Kelce, the pop star also pointed out her excitement during the 2024 NFL Draft. Specifically, Swift detailed her elation about the Kansas City Chiefs' selection of Xavier Worthy with the 28th overall pick. On Tuesday, Worthy responded to the viral clip. "That's crazy," Worthy said. "I ain't gonna lie, she's the biggest pop star in this generation so it's crazy to have somebody running around the house screaming, 'We drafted you!'" The pick was only made possible after the Chiefs traded up with the Buffalo Bills, which became cause for celebration in the Swift residence. "I became like a person who was running through the halls of my house screaming, 'We drafted Xavier Worthy,'" Swift said. Kelce was a non-believer at first, saying that he wasn't sure if Swift had the right information. "I forget where I was, but you were the first person to tell me that we drafted the fastest man in the draft," Kelce said. Chiefs fans were given many reasons to be happy about the selection and their newest superfan wasted no time joining the crowd. "I was freaking out," Swift added. Worthy certainly proved to be a solid addition to the Kansas City offense in his rookie year, totaling 742 scrimmage yards and nine touchdowns on 79 touches – also proving to be someone that rose to the occasion in the postseason. Heading into his second season, the former Texas star will look to build off an impressive rookie year. Turns out, he'll be doing it with one of the world's biggest celebrities in his corner.

FTC says group flooded Ticketmaster with fake accounts to buy up tickets

Federal regulators are suing a ticket broker accused in a multimillion-dollar scheme to resell thousands of tickets to live events, including Taylor Swift's record-setting 'Eras Tour,' by bypassing Ticketmaster security measures. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) filed its suit against Key Investment Group LLC and its affiliates Monday, alleging that the Maryland-based ticket reseller used clandestine measures — including purchasing sham accounts and masking IP addresses — to get around Ticketmaster's ticket purchasing limits. After quickly amassing thousands of tickets for concerts and other events through the fake accounts, the alleged scammers then resold them to fans at higher prices, the lawsuit claims. The FTC detailed as an example in its complaint how the effort worked with Swift's sold-out shows, noting that over five months in 2023, the group bought 2,280 tickets to 38 stops on the 'Eras Tour.' 'Defendants paid $744,970.29 for these tickets and resold them for $1,961,980.65, netting $1,217,010.36 in revenue,' the lawsuit states. The Better Online Ticket Sales (BOTS) Act, which was signed into law in 2016, prohibits efforts to circumvent 'control measures used by Internet ticket sellers to ensure equitable consumer access to tickets for any given event.' Frustrations have persisted, though, as bots have continued to grab tickets for the marked-up resell market. 'President Trump made it clear in his March Executive Order that unscrupulous middlemen who harm fans and jack up prices through anticompetitive methods will hear from us,' FTC Chairman Andrew N. Ferguson said in a statement. 'Today's action puts brokers on notice that the Trump-Vance FTC will police operations that unlawfully circumvent ticket sellers' purchase limits, ensuring that consumers have an opportunity to buy tickets at fair prices.'

Taylor Swift Provides an Update on Her Father's Health

In the recent episode of the New Heights podcast, Taylor Swift opened up in a way unlike she ever has before. Swift discussed everything from her upcoming album to her relationship with her boyfriend, Travis Kelce. Swift also opened up about the current health status of her father, Scott Swift. Fans of the superstar might recall that her 73-year-old father underwent major heart surgery earlier this year. Swift described the surgery as 'very intense.' "He's doing good," she said. "He is doing incredibly well. My dad had an interesting summer. He actually had a quintuple bypass surgery.' Despite having a near-perfect electrocardiogram in the past, Swift explained that her father would later take a stress test that detected that he had several areas in his heart with reduced blood flow. When it was determined that her father would need surgery, Swift, her brother Austin, and her mother, Andrea, all moved in with him to help care for him. It was an experience that had Swift reflecting on the passage of time. "He came out of surgery, tried to give guitar picks to all the nurses and doctors, but he wasn't wearing pants. Didn't have pockets, hospital gown," Swift recalled. "I'm having these moments where I'm like, this dude built play sets and swing sets and cribs for me. I'm building his … shower chair and his walker ... Like, it's just surreal, man." Swift's mother also recently had surgery, she revealed. "My mom just got a new knee. She's doing great," Swift said. "This was just, like, the summer of my parental upgrades. We're just upgrading the parents, making sure that they live to be at least 186 years old, because they're two of my best friends."
