Wales bolster pack to face Italy in 6N finale

Wales have made three changes to their pack for the final Six Nations match against Italy in Parma.Prop Donna Rose is handed her first start of the campaign having deputised on the bench for rookie Jenni Scoble.Gwen Crabb, a try-scorer in France, is recalled to the second-row having been rested against Ireland.Her return sees Georgia Evans revert to number eight in place of Alex Callender, who is among the replacements after returning from injury last week.Head coach Sean Lynn admitted the changes were a response to last Sunday's one-sided 40-14 defeat by Ireland in Newport."Ireland's pack really took us at set-piece so we need to address that," he said.
"Gwen is a very good set-piece controller in the lineout and I'm hoping Alex will bring energy and composure off the bench when we need it."Wales' head coach has warned his players they must respond to their run of four losses or risk being cut from his World Cup plans.
Kayleigh Powell has been ruled out with a hamstring issue so Lleucu George retains the number 10 jersey in an unchanged Wales' backline that includes wing Carys Cox and full-back Jasmine Joyce-Butchers, both in the top six players for metres made in the championship.Wales have scored twice as many points as at the same point in last year's Six Nations but Lynn is demanding more."I'm confident that we're creating chances, however we need to start finishing off those opportunities," he said."I've told the players to be brave in attack but I'm also challenging this backline to finish things off to be able to stay on top."
Italian 'emotion'
Five of the last six games between Wales and Italy have been decided by four points or less, including last year's last-gasp 22-20 Welsh victory in Cardiff.Italy are chasing a second win of the tournament having beaten Scotland in Edinburgh and pushed Grand Slam chasing France 34-21 last week.Lynn believes there could be a highly-charged atmosphere at Stadio Sergio Lanfranchi for a fixture that has been rearranged due to the funeral of Pope Francis in Rome on Saturday."I'm sure there will be a lot of emotion around the game for Italy given what happened and I'm sure they'll also be targeting this home game as a big chance to win," he said."Their driving maul put France under a lot of pressure last week and their back three are very exciting. So we need to be disciplined and defensively organised."

Juventus respond as Andrea Berta puts Kenan Yildiz on summer transfer shortlist
Arsenal are interested in Juventus star Kenan Yildiz, but they do not want to sell the 20-year-old winger and are set to open talks with him over a new contract Juventus are reportedly planning to offer Kenan Yildiz a new contract in a bid to ward off interest from clubs like Arsenal. Yildiz enjoyed an impressive campaign for Juventus this season, producing 16 goal contributions in 48 appearances across all competitions. The 20-year-old is attracting interest from a number of sides across Europe and Arsenal are among them, with Mikel Arteta keen to strengthen his forward line this summer. Italian outlet Tuttosport are reporting that Arsenal are the club who are 'most interested' in Yildiz. The Gunners are said to have a longstanding interest in Yildiz and are ready to spend between €50million (£42m) and €60m (£50.5m) on a new winger. It is claimed that Yildiz and Athletic Bilbao star Nico Williams are Arsenal's top targets. However, Juventus believe Yildiz is worth closer to €100m (£84m) and they are ready to open talks with the Turkey international over a new deal which could see him double his salary. Juventus endured a disappointing campaign as they finished fourth in Serie A, but they finished the season strongly after Igor Tudor replaced Thiago Motta as manager in March. Juventus have lost just one game under Tudor and Yildiz has spoken highly of the Croatian. "He gave us energy, it was important for us," Yildiz told DAZN last month about Tudor's impact. "Since he arrived, we've been happy, we've been working hard. I'm happy with this season, but I want to improve in everything. "I'm always looking ahead. The No.10 shirt doesn't add any pressure. I play as usual and I'm happy to be wearing it." Arsenal, meanwhile, have yet to make any new signings but Arteta has told fans that this summer's transfer window will be a "big one" for the club. "It's going to be a big one and we are very excited about it," he said. "When you are going to go again, we want to increase the depth of the squad and the quality and the skills that we need to go to the next step. "Every summer is big because it is an opportunity – and especially because of the number of players we have in the squad right now, that is necessary. "But it's a big summer for many things because first of all we have to maintain the good foundations that we have and then obviously how can we improve and evolve the team." Northern Ireland must learn to be better with the ball to shock big teams, claims Isaac Price
The West Brom ace has been brilliant at international level for his country, scoring a bunch of goals, and he tends to hit the target in honest post-match assessments as well. Keeping the ball more in away games going forward was a key takeaway from the trip to Copenhagen for Michael O'Neill's players. Without the ball Northern Ireland worked extremely hard in their 2-1 friendly defeat against a Danish side that had the vast majority of play, but Price appreciates more is required moving forward when in possession. With O'Neill's young side starting their World Cup campaign away to Luxembourg and Germany, the match at Parken provided the team with food for thought knowing they are a much more capable outfit going forward than what they showed at the weekend. Quizzed on the possession factor, Price commented: 'The gaffer said about our possession after the match. I think because when you work so hard off the ball and you're chasing the game a lot, when you finally get the ball you've got to be good enough to keep it and manipulate the ball and buy fouls and get time for your team. 'That's definitely something we've got to work on, especially when we know we're going into the World Cup qualifiers where we're going to play top opposition like Germany. We've got to get better at keeping the ball.' Denmark made their possession and pressure count in the second half with Christian Eriksen netting the winning goal in the 67th minute. At that point Northern Ireland fans were fearing the Danes would pile it on as Sweden did in March on their way to a 5-1 triumph over O'Neill's team in Stockholm. In the first half the visitors had kept Denmark at arm's length until Gustav Isaksen's fine strike in injury time, which levelled Pierre-Emile Højbjerg's sixth minute own goal. Price said: 'We knew what they were going to be like. I think we had a pretty good game plan from the start and we dug in well but their quality shone through in the second half. 'It could have quite easily gone like it did in Sweden and gone three, four, five, but we dug in well and kept it at two. 'I think their equaliser killed us a little bit. We'd worked so hard for 45 minutes and we've got our goal, and to concede so late in the first half you're going into half-time on a little bit of a downer. 'It's a kick in the teeth really, but they've got quality players and unfortunately they beat us in the end.' If that was disappointing, ex-Everton and Standard Liege player Price was full of praise for team-mate Justin Devenny. The 21-year-old Crystal Palace midfielder started in a left wing back role and delivered an impressive performance. 'I thought Justin was outstanding,' said Price. 'He's playing a different position to what he normally plays. He's been asked to do a little bit of a different job and I thought defensively he was very good.' On Tuesday, Northern Ireland return to action at home to Iceland with Price only thinking about one outcome. 'It's definitely a game that we'll look to go and win,' he said. 'We want more of the ball and to show a little bit more quality when we have the ball. 'And it's at home and I think all the team knows how well we do at home. It gives everyone a little bit of an extra boost. So, yeah, we'll be going into that game hoping to win.'
